  • As the importance of software education is emphasized, various educations for improve the computational thinking of elementary school students are being provided. However, there are many limitations that apply to the school at preceding studies. because they were invented for specific environment or students. Therefore, in this study, software education was conducted by constructing teaching-learning activities in consideration of the characteristics of students such as teaching aids and level of computational thinking ability, which can influence students based on the contents of textbooks. Through the comparison about computational thinking improvements, this study tried to suggest the direction of effective software education method. As a result, there are differences in computational thinking improvements according to the student's level and used teaching aids. Specifically, visual programming and unplugged type teaching-learning activities were more effective in teaching aids, and according to the level of students, students with low level of computing thinking in pre-inspection showed relatively high improvement. This tendency suggests that it is necessary to consider various learning factors in designing teaching-learning activities in elementary software education.

  • This study is the case of non-face-to-face teaching-learning in the subject of "Research and Guidance on Early Childhood Materials" in the pre-child teacher training program. The study conducted a non-face-to-face teaching-learning model for 18 students at B University in region C who took lectures on 'Research and Guidance on Early Childhood Materials' in the first semester of 2021. As a non-face-to-face teaching-learning model, it consisted of video lectures, real-time zoom classes, and various forms of 'communication' through frequent feedback and interaction and 'participation'. As a teaching-learning strategy for the participation of pre-service early childhood teachers, comment on questions related to early childhood materials, in-depth reflection on early childhood materials through writing reflective journals and observation reports, and step-by-step presentation of making childhood materials plans, processes, and results were carried out. As a result of exploring the experience of making early childhood materials for pre-service early childhood teachers, factors such as "growth experience through trial and error," "thinking from child's point of view", "Increase efficiency and reduce burden through communication", "Process rather than result" and "The importance of communication and interaction in non-face-to-face classes"

  • The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the effects of physical manipulative and exploratory geometry software on the spatial sense for 5th grade elementary school students in learning nets. For this purpose, ton experimental group used Geofix, an operational learning tool, and the experimental group used Cabri 3D, an exploratory geometry software to learn the nets of solids. The comparison group was learned by worksheet only without any manipulative or software. Spatial sense tests were conducted before and after to determine the level, and eye tracking were used to analyze the strategies of students in solving nets problems. As a result, it was confirmed that the using Geofix group was the most effective for the spatial sense, and Cabri 3D could also be a good tool for learning the nets of solids. In addition, after learning the nets of solids, the analytical strategy, which was the most effective strategy for students' solving strategies, increased. In the process of solving spatial tasks such as the spatial sense tasks, eye tracking technology become a very useful tool for exploring students' strategies, so it is expected that objective and useful data will be collected through more active use in the future.

  • The 2015 revised national curriculum includes SW courses to improve computational thinking, and a variety of physical computing tools for learning are on sale for use in education. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for selecting physical computing tool for learning suitable for learning situations and learning purposes, and to provide a reasonable basis for judging the choice of tools in the field. Delphi survey method was used as a reference method for developing evaluation criteria through 25 expert panels. As a result, the criterion of evaluation of the learning tool composed of 40 essential and 11 selection criteria for 7 domains was presented. In addition, the evaluation results of five kinds of learning tools commercialized through the evaluation criteria of the learning tool were analyzed. The evaluation criteria for the learning tools developed through this study are expected to help teachers select rational learning tools and help learning tool developers develop learning tools.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of participating in teaching material development program using 3D printer on the recognition of universal design for learning of early childhood special education pre-service teachers. This study was conducted on 30 early childhood special education pre-service teachers who participated in teaching material development program using 3D printer. The results of this study showed that the early childhood special education pre-service teachers use of the 3D printer-based teaching material development program resulted in statistically significant differences in the 4 low rank factors of the universal design for learning. This research shows that direct experience in developing teaching material using 3D printers is very effective to improve universal design for learning awareness. In addition, the experience of developing teaching material for pre-service early childhood teachers is important for improving the instructional design ability, and they need the practice of the development of the teaching material using the latest technology for teaching students with various needs.

  • Lately, as the importance of software and the software education has been emphasized, the studies on ways of teaching programming to elementary students have been actively progressed. However, most of undergraduates as prospective elementary teachers who will be in charge of teaching programming at the elementary schools have a lack of interest in programming education as well as of the understanding of basic programming principles. Therefore, this study investigated how programming education using hands-on robot and scratch affected learning motivation and academic achievement of preliminary teachers. The comparison of results of two programming educations shows that the programming education using hands-on robot revealed statistically significant difference in learning motivation and academic achievement.

  • As robots are proved to be effective in enhancing students' creativity and problem-solving abilities and satisfying various needs in special education for the gifted, many students participate in private education and after-school robot classes. However, it is difficult for students in the lower social economy class to use robots for their learning because of the high expense of robots. On this point, as a part of u-Learnng project, this research attempts to provide students in the lower social economy class with the opportunities to use robots for one year. At the end of the year, we will compare the experimental group and the control group in order to examine learning effects of using robots. Until now we have found many cases that show positive effects of the use of robots in students' learning.

  • This study investigated the effects of utilizing 3D printed teaching aids on academic achievement and learning motivation in a non-face-to-face learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was divided into an experimental and a comparison group that applied traditional lecture-based teaching and self-directed learning using 3D printed teaching aids and videos. The results of the study showed that the experimental group using 3D printed brain puzzles improved their academic performance compared to the comparison group using traditional lectures. This may be due to the fact that visual and experiential learning helped students to acquire knowledge on their own. The brain puzzles provided an interesting learning experience for the students, and their overall satisfaction with the class was also positive. These results indicate that teaching with teaching aids can increase students' motivation to learn and improve their academic performance. Therefore, the active introduction of 3D printed teaching aids in the non-face-to-face learning environment caused by COVID-19 is expected to improve the quality of education through innovation in learner-centered teaching methods.
