For this purpose, 192 items for happiness were constructed based on 76 5th and 6th elementary students' free descriptions. Then 75 items were selected for preliminary factor analysis based on item appropriateness by evaluation of 28 elementary teachers. The happiness inventory composed 136 items was administered to 155 students and 36 items were selected based on exploratory factor analysis results. 4 factors-optimism, positive peer-relationship, self-esteem, consideration, and teacher-relationship-were extracted by principal component analysis. The confirmatory factor analysis indices indicated that 4 factor model of happiness was fit. The reliability(Cronbach's ${\alpha}$) was .996.

Physical animation playfulness positively influenced self-respect school happiness, optimism school happiness, and overall school happiness. Mental spontaneity positively influenced teacher relationship school happiness and overall school happiness. Physical education class attitudes positively influenced every subset of school happiness variables, and based on standardized regression coefficients, physical education class attitudes influenced school happiness variables more so than did playfulness. The findings indicate that physical education class attitudes and playfulness are important contributors for improving Korean elementary students' school happiness, and it is necessary to cultivate physical education class attitudes and playfulness in Korean elementary schoolers.

This study examines the impact of school violence on South Korean students' psychological well-being. The research is designed to analyze how different types of experiences of school violence-victim, perpetrator, victim-perpetrator, and non-involvement-influence students' suicidal impulse and sense of happiness. Empirical data was gained from a national-scale survey conducted by Social Development Research Institute at Yonsei University in 2013, and was analyzed using binary logistic and multiple regression methods. Findings suggest that any types of experiences of school violence had significant effect on suicidal impulse. In particular, the likelihood of victim-perpetrator to experience suicidal impulse was 7.1 times stronger than non-involvement. However, the effect of experiences of school violence on students' sense of happiness was insignificant. While the impact of school violence on sense of happiness among victims and victim-perpetrators was significant, its impact among perpetrators proved insignificant. Rather, stress factor-in particular, stress from peers-had more significant impact on the level of students' happiness. This study contributes to understanding the multiple effect of school violence by examining both negative and positive dimensions of psychological well-being.
