  • This study chiefly aims to clarify optimize evacuation circulation which can be applied to architectural planning through the analysis of educational facilities. On the planning phase, the evacuation circulation of buildings are defined through the zoning of plans and sections based on the functions and purposes. It is very important to consider efficient evacuation circulation under the circumstances of disasters such as fire and earthquake etc, and it is directly related with the lives of people in the educational facilities. This study tries to find out methods can be applied to architectural planning and architectural design through optimized circulation after the analysis and understanding of behavioral characteristics of human.

  • The study is a precursor to the final goal of organizing a future school building plan to prepare for the new paradigm. Planning direction presentation through planning elements and principles is key purpose. Based on the results of the study, it is meaningful that the school facilities will be able to fulfil the educational role of the school facilities, including science, technology, and environment. Based on the theoretical concepts of prospective school facilities and research data, the school plans to construct architectural plan elements and construct the architectural plan based on the guidelines of the school plan based on the evaluation criteria of the school building and the evaluation criteria based on the evaluation criteria of the school building and the calculation of the plan through the procurement criteria of the school and the Future Schools.

  • This study aims to understand the environmental impact reduction of green buildings that are certified by Green standard for energy and environmental design(G-SEED). To ensure this end, this study assessed and compared the environmental impacts(global warning, ozone layer depletion, acidification, and eutrophication) of a G-SEED-certified elementary school building(green building) and an uncertified elementary school building(traditional building) using the life cycle assessment methodology. This study considered the environmental impacts from the material manufacturing, material transportation, on-site construction, and operation during 40 years. The comparison of the environmental impact intensity of two buildings showed that the green building generated much more environmental impacts than the traditional building. For example, the global warming potential of the green building was approximately 12.5% higher than of the traditional building since the global warming potential of the green building was 3.751 $t-CO_2eq./m^2$ while that of the traditional building was 3.282 $t-CO_2eq./m^2$. It signifies that the G-SEED doesn't guarantee the reduction of the environmental impacts in terms of four impact categories. Therefore, the G-SEED should be complemented and improved to achieve the environmental impact reduction.

  • This study proposed the basic data that contributes to inducing an effective construction plan through the application of the 4th industrial technology to construct a school building that can guarantee the five goals of construction management: cost, process, quality, safety, and environmental management. To this end, 3D printing, drones, robot automation, and augmented reality technologies that are highly usable in construction sites were identified for construction workers. As part of this, related literature and research data were investigated. The selected 4th industrial technology was investigated and analyzed on how it was used for cost, process, quality, safety, and environmental management in a detailed school construction process. As a result of the analysis, significant results were found for the application plan of the 4th industrial technology in school construction for cost, process, quality, safety, and environmental management.

A Study on the Direction of User Participatory Design for School using Socio-Spatial Network Analysis - Focused on the middle and high school in Seoul - (사회-공간 네트워크 분석을 활용한 학교설계 사용자 참여디자인 방향에 관한 연구 - 서울시 중, 고등학교 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore ways to efficiently capture the opinions of students who are main users in the planning, planning and design of school facilities. There are many criteria for determining good schools, but in this study, the main purpose of this study was to set up the main users as students, and to analyze the differences between the network and the actual spatial structure (network) created by the hope of students' use of school space, and the direction to overcome the differences. After surveying students' opinions about their satisfaction with school space and their desire to use school space by limiting the survey target to middle and high schools in Seoul, the 'social-space network analysis' was recently established in the social science field. As a result, it was found that the proximity of space and space desired by students in the school varied greatly depending on the geographical conditions, school districts, and the status of the current facilities, and the direction of improvement specialized for each school was found.
