Comparison Analysis of Muscle Strength and Asymmetry according to Bowler Injury Experience and Type (볼링 선수 상해 경험과 유형에 따른 근력과 비대칭 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in upper and lower strengths and symmetry between upper body injury group, lower body injury group and non-injury group of bowling athletes. The subjects were the upper body injury group (UG), n = 16, the low body injury group (LG), n = 8, the non injury group, [NG], n = 15). The isometric strength of the bowler was measured using Manual Muscle Tester 01165 (Lafayette Instrument Company, USA) and the symmetry index (SI) was calculated. The results were as follow. The symmetry index of hip extension strength and hip external rotation strength was statistically larger in NG than LG (p <.05). The above results suggest that lower body strength and bilateral symmetry was closely related to injuries of the lower body. In order to prevent injury of the bowler, strengthening of lower body strength and symmetrical training are needed.

The Effects of Lower Extremity Strengthening Program on Balance, Gait and Upper Limb Function in Patients with Stroke (뇌졸중 환자에게 하지 근력강화 프로그램이 균형, 보행과 상지 기능에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lower extremity strengthening program on balance, gait and upper limb function in patients with stroke. This study was a hospital-based with Central nerve system lesion patients, randomized controlled trial with a blinded assessor. Twenty four hemiparetic stroke patients were divided into two groups: a Lower extremity strengthening program group (LESPG)(n=12) and a Treadmill training group (TTG)(n=12). The LESPG performed a Lower extremity strengthening program on the affected side. The TTG exercised on a treadmill for 30 minutes a day. Assessment tools included the Timed Up and Go test (TUG), the Functional Gait Assessment (FGA) and the Manual Function Test (MFT). There was a significant difference in TUG, FGA, and MFT scores between the two groups in the LESPG for the balance, gait, and upper limb function than for the TTG(p<.01). Results of the present study indicated that the effect of lower extremity strengthening program for 4 weeks had an effect on balance, gait and upper limb function of hemiplegic patients after stroke.

Effect of Correction to Muscle Imbalance in Lower Limbs according to Reduction of Weight Bearing Methods of Four Point of Horizontal Shaft (횡축 4정점 체중부하 감소기법 이용한 하지 근력불균형 개선에 미치는 효과)

  • In this paper, we were to investigate effect of correction to muscle imbalance in lower limbs according to reduction of weight bearing methods of four point of horizontal shaft using two-belt treadmill. Participants were divided to two group according to each ten peoples who have difference of muscle function in left and right legs over 20%. Experiment progressed forty minutes a day three days a week, total four weeks and we estimated the maximal peak torque and average power for testing joint torque in hip, knee and ankle. The results showed that the correction effect of muscle imbalance to the maximal muscle strength was the most effective in hip joint. Also in knee joint, correction effect of muscular reaction was the most effective too. We thought that reduction of weight bearing methods could be positive effect to correct muscle imbalance in lower limbs.

  • 본 논문에서는 체감형 기능성 게임의 여러 요인들 중에 하지근력을 실질적으로 강화시키기 위해서는 어떠한 요인들이 필요하며, 그 요인들을 어떻게 구성 하였을 때 가장 큰 효과를 줄 수 있는지 요소들에 대한 구성에 대해서 분석하여 체감형 기능성 게임을 개발 하는 업체들에게 실직적인 효과를 줄 수 있는 요인들을 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

Effects of Lower Extremity Muscle Strengthening Exercise on Balance and Fall Efficacy in Middle Older Adults Women (하지 근력 강화 운동이 중기 여성 노인의 균형과 낙상 효능감에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was to examine the effect of lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise on balance and fall efficacy in middle older adults women. This study was conducted with one group pre-test and post-test design. A total of 34 older adults women participated in 7 weeks of intervention. Data were analyzed as SPSS ver. 21.0 using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. Right leg balance(t=6.09, p<.001), left leg balance(t=6.76, p<.001), and fall efficacy(t=6.81, p<.001) were significantly increased. Dynamic balance(t= -4.68, p=.001) was significantly decreased. This study found that lower extremity muscle strengthening exercise program could be a useful health promotion method.

Effect of the Prevention Programs for Musculoskeletal Disorders in one Farming Village (일부 농업인에서의 근골격계 질환 관리 프로그램의 효과)

  • 일개 농촌 마을에서 농한기를 활용하여 시행된 근골격계 질환 예방사업을 소개하고 주요 사업결과를 분석하여 농업인의 건강증진을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 2006년 12월 5일부터 2007년 1월 26일까지 사곳리 마을회관을 12회 방문하여 4번의 기초교육과 5번의 심화교육 등 9번의 근력 및 유연성 강화교육을 실시하였다. 교육 전(사전평가), 기초교육과 심화교육 사이(중간평가), 교육 후(최종평가) 등 3회에 걸쳐 의사 2인에 의한 근골격계 질환 평가, 시각통증척도에 의한 근골격계 통증 평가, 생활체육 전문가 3인에 의한 좌우의 악력, 배근력, 하지근력, 몸통, 어깨, 하지, 무릎유연성 측정을 통한 근골격계 근력 및 유연성 평가, 설문지를 사용한 어깨, 허리, 무릎의 기능 평가를 실시하였다. 총 12회의 일정 중 1회 이상 참석한 농업인은 총 57명이었으며 남자가 20명(35.1%), 여자가 37명(64.9%)이었으며 평균 연령은 60.7(±8.1)세였다. 근골격계 질환 검진에서 한 번 이상의 검진을 받았던 43명중 32명(74%)이 한 가지 이상의 근골격계 질환을 가지고 있었으며, 퇴행성관절염이 26명(60.5%), 근막통 증후군이 19명(44.2%), 허리디스크가 10명(23.3%)이었다.목어깨, 허리, 무릎다리의 통증정도는 1차, 2차 평가 간, 2차, 3차 평가 간, 1차, 3차 평가 간의 비교에서 모두 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 3차 평가에서 1차 평가에 비해 목어깨, 허리, 무릎다리 모두 유의한 통증의 감소를 보였다(p<0.05). 근골격계의 기능을 1차, 2차 평가 간, 2차, 3차 평가 간, 1차, 3차 평가 간 비교한 결과 모두 기능점수가 우수하게 변화했으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 근력 및 유연성 정도는 좌우의 악력, 배근력, 하지근력, 몸통, 어깨, 하지, 무릎유연성을 측정하였으며 1차 평가에 비해 3차 평가에서 모든 항목에서 근력 및 유연성 정도가 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05).연구대상자의 수가 적었고, 농한기에 의한 근골격계 질환의 개선 효과를 배제할 수는 없었지만 이번연구를 통하여 일부 농업인에서 근골격계 질환 관리 프로그램 실시 후 근골격계 질환의 단기적인 개선효과를 볼 수 있었다. 근골격계 질환의 중장기적인 개선효과를 기대할 수 있는 추가적인 연구와 농번기를 통한 관리 프로그램에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.

Estimation of Human Lower-Extremity Muscle Force Under Uncertainty While Rising from a Chair (의자에서 일어서는 동작 시 불확실성을 고려한 인체 하지부 근력 해석)

  • Biomechanical models are often used to predict muscle and joint forces in the human body. For estimation of muscle forces, the body and muscle properties have to be known. However, these properties are difficult to measure and differ from person to person. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the change in muscle forces depending on the body and muscle properties. The objective of the present study is to develop a numerical procedure for estimating the muscle forces in the human lower extremity under uncertainty of body and muscle properties during rising motion from a seated position. The human lower extremity is idealized as a multibody system in which eight Hill-type muscle force models are employed. Each model has four degrees of freedom and is constrained in the sagittal plane. The eight muscle forces are determined by minimizing the metabolic energy consumption during the rising motion. Uncertainty analysis is performed using a first-order reliability method. The one-standard-deviation range of agonistic muscle forces is calculated to be about 150-300 N.

  • 노년에게는 근력운동이 아닌 걷기, 달리기, 수영 등 유산소운동이 적합한 운동으로 알고 있다. 근력운동을 하다가 자칫 잘못하면 더 큰 부상을 당할 수 있고, 운동 효율이 낮기 때문이다. 하지만 최근에는 근력운동이 노년에게도 필요하다는 주장이 점차 힘을 얻고 있는 추세이다. 구릿빛 피부에 울퉁불퉁한 식스팩까지는 아니지만 분명 노년을 건강하게 보내기 위해서는 근육이 필요하다.

  • 30세 이후 근력은 지속적으로 감소하며, 운동을 꾸준히 하지 않는 이상 60세 이후 30% 정도 소실되는 것으로 알려졌다. 근육량이 적어지면 기초대사량이 감소하여 쉽게 살이 찌고, 고혈압 등 만성질환 등에 노출되기 쉽다. 또한, 하체근력이 약화되면 걷기 등 일상생활에서 문제가 따르고, 낙상 등의 위험도 배가 된다. 따라서 건강한 노후생활을 즐기기 위해서는 근력을 유지하는 것이 필수라고 해도 무방하다.

Relationship between Exercising Activity, Muscle Mass, Muscular Strength and Cognitive Function in the Elderly (노인의 운동참여, 근육량, 근력 및 인지기능과의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among Exercising Activity, muscle mass, Muscular strength and cognitive function of 274 elderly people aged 65 years and older living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do As for the data collection methods, were measured the Exercising Activity, muscle mass and muscular strength and the Korean version of Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE-K) and digit span test were measured. The results are as follows First, there was a statistically significant correlation between Exercising activity, muscle mass, muscular strength, and cognitive function of the elderly. Second, Exercising activity of the elderly showed a positive (+) influence on muscle mass, muscular strength, and cognitive function. Third, the muscle mass of the elderly showed a statistically significant (+) influence on muscular strength and cognitive function. Fourth, the strength of the elderly showed a positive (+) influence on cognitive function.
