A hybrid information service may include local and/or remote distributed services, both and electronic. Also, a hybrid information service can be described as one which an appropriate range of heterogeneous information services is presented to the user in a consistent and integrated way via a single interface. The purpose of this study is to suggest high-level requirements and logical architecture to design hybrid library. High-level requirements analysis for hybrid library need to contain baseline requirements, basic system requirements, searching, location, requesting, delivery and payment. A logical architecture need to consider logical architecture for hybrid library management system including user access points, hybrid library management system and hybrid library components and 5 layered architecture including presenter, coordinator, mediator, communicator and provider to achieve local simplicity while still supporting complex functionality of hybrid library.

A hybrid information environment can be described as one where an appropriate range of heterogeneous information services is presented to the user in a consistent and integrated way via a single interface. The purpose of this study is to suggest a need of hybrid information services through understanding of the hybrid information environment and hybrid library. Additionally, this study deal with basic concepts of design for a hybrid information service model and address a number of hybrid library projects based on these concepts, such as Agora, BUILDER, HealdLine, HyLife, and MALIBU. Finally, this study survey generic a model of hybrid library and suggest basic principles for building of hybrid information service model, such as integration, seamlessness, authentication, interconnectivity, and personalization of information seeking process environment.

The library could get infinite possibilities of the space, if people had recognized that the library was not only the space for the reading and collecting of the books but also a special space for accomplishment of the investigation, learning, communication, and culture. Also, it can be desirable way for implementing the hybrid library. It means that combine with the traditional library which is the most important thing is a real space and the digital library, in contrast, the which is that the most important thing is the cyberspace. The purpose of this study is to develop a practical model for hybrid library based on the concept of information commons which is cooperation of the space, information technology and information services. This study intends to figure out the core elements involved in operative aspect of hybrid library through comparative analysis of domestic and foreign cases applied Information commons concepts to the library.

The purpose of this study is to survey various digital library models that form basic concept of the hybrid information services and to suggest the needs of hybrid information services in digital environments as previous stage towards a building of generic information model appropriate to hybrid information environments. This study deals with the change of information service environments and information services of traditional and digital environments, Also addressed are relationships between digital library and information services. Today we are preparing to accept the ubiquitous library age. This article will serve to define the concepts of the hybrid library, the gateway library and the ubiquitous library which hold the advanced concepts of the digital library. It will review the main projects about them in order to portray what the future libraries will be like and how they can be developed. In particular, the eLib program of the hybrid library, the gateway projects by Harvard University and Penn State University, and the ubiquitous library projects in Carnegie Melon University and Maryland University will be surveyed, through which the characteristics of the information services being operated by the ubiquitous libraries will be scanned.

Academic libraries presently are confronting the issues of organizational viability and relevance. Academic libraries are not the sole owners of the information gateway. The purpose of this study is modeling of university library's information service for effective implication of its role in order to ensure organizational viability and relevance in internet environment. It's getting popularized to collect information connecting web sites with massive information through the internet and advanced search engines. Users can handle digital materials like E-book wherever the internet is available and they will demand digital information increasingly. This study analyzes literature investigation, statistics analyses of the attached library of Kyushu University, drawings and field investigation to suggest a new model of a library which handles traditional paper-formed materials and digital-formed materials at one place with growing importance of digital materials. It results that a library performs a important role like a learning space and functions as a sociocultural communication space. Also it shows that it is required to basically reinvestigate the role of 'space' in the library with a great importance of digital materials. In the hybrid library combined with subjects and reorganized at one place, One-stop services like library materials and manpower can be provided for users staying at the same area.

Recent advancements in information technology and the Internet have caused an explosive increase in the information available and the means to distribute it. However, such information overflow has made the efficient and accurate search of information a difficulty for most users. To solve this problem, an information retrieval and filtering system was developed as an important tool for users. Libraries and information centers have been in the forefront to provide customized services to satisfy the user's information needs under the changing information environment of today. The aim of this study is to propose an efficient information service for libraries and information centers to provide a personalized recommendation system to the user. The proposed method overcomes the weaknesses of existing systems, by providing a personalized hybrid recommendation method for multimedia contents that works in a large-scaled data and user environment. The system based on the proposed hybrid method uses an effective framework to combine Association Rule with Collaborative Filtering Method.

The purpose of this study is to introduce the concepts of smartphone and app, to review the theoretical researches and the representative service examples in academic libraries' mobile services based on smartphone apps, and to propose the proper mobile services methods based on smartphone apps in academic libraries of Korea. The ways for mobile app services in academic libraries are like these: 1) Libraries need to prepare the hybrid service system based on the combination of mobile web and app for smartphone. 2) Libraries have the guidelines for choosing apps which are applied to library services. 3) Libraries develop the apps for library marketing and education services and make use of existed apps to their own services. 4) Smartphone application bibliography service(Appography service) needs to be developed and serviced as an academic library service field.

In this study, the usefulness of the RFID technology, which has been recommended to be used in libraries, is reviewed by its technical aspect and the successful methods derived from RFID-applied libraries is presented to other libraries. More precisely, it is advised that checking out or returning books and materials, checking a collection of books, identifying misplaced materials, and theft-proofing materials, which have been previously performed using bar codes or the magnetic tapes, should be automated through RFID additionally the method to apply the technology to library's facilities or devices is proposed.
