Structural Changes During the Calcination of Raw Coke (Raw Coke의 하소온도에 따른 구조변화)

  • The effect of temperature on the structural changes of petroleum raw coke during calcination was studied and then the properties of carbon solids prepared from those calcined coke using binder were examined. The notable structural change of raw coke was observed in the range from 800$^{\circ}C$ to 900$^{\circ}C$ from the results of volatile matter, porosity, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The bending strength, density of the carbon solid carbonized at 1400$^{\circ}C$ was 400 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 1.40g/㎤, respectively.

원자로냉각제 정화용 고온흡착재 개발

  • 약 30$0^{\circ}C$, 160 kg/$cm^2$의 원자로냉각재계통에서 사용이 가능한 $^{60}$Co 제거용 고온흡착제를 얻기 위하여, ZrO$_2$를 zirconyl nitrate를 출발물질로 하여 졸-겔법으로, aluminum isopropoxide를 출발 물질로 하여 A1$_2$O$_3$를, aluminum isopropoxide와 titanium tetraisopropoxide를 출발물질로하여 TiO$_2$-A1$_2$O$_3$를, aluminum isopropoxide와 zirconium propoxide를 출발물질로 하여 ZrO$_2$-A1$_2$O$_3$를 금속알콕사이드 가수분해법으로 제조하였다. 제조한 흡착제는 600~140$0^{\circ}C$의 온도로 하소 하였으며, 결정전이, 열적특성, 비표면적 등의 물성변화를 알아보기 위하여 X선회절, 적외선분광분석, 열분석, 전자현미경 관찰, BET 비표면적 등을 측정하였다. 또한, 고온수에서 이들 흡착제의 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착특성을 autoclave를 이용한 회분식 흡착실험으로 알아보았다. 이들 흡착제 제조시 하소온도에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량, $Al_2$O$_3$ 흡착제 제조시 pH 변화에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량과 TiO$_2$-A1$_2$O$_3$ 흡착제 제조시 TiO$_2$ 함량에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량과 25$0^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 ZrO$_2$$Al_2$O$_3$의 표면에 생성된 코발트 화합물을 XPS와 EPMA로 부터 확인하였다.

A Study on the Precursor of $BaTiO_3$ Synthesized in Water (수용액계에서 합성한 $BaTiO_3$의 선구물질에 관한 연구)

  • Factor analysis was applied to X-ray diffraction patterns of the precursor of $BaTiO_3$. For that purpose, the precursor was synthesized in water solvent system using $Ba(NO_3)_2$ and $TiO(NO_3)_2$ as the starting materials and calcined at various temperatures. The samples obtained from the various calcined temperatures were analyzed by the X-ray diffractometer. Factor analysis was applied to the intensity data of the X-ray diffraction patterns. As the results, three factors were found and they were found to be $BaCO_3$, $BaTiO_3$ and $Ba_2TiO_4$. The relative concentrations of the three components were estimated during calcination.

  • Inorganic pigment is excellent at stability to human body and compatibility with different materials and has been used in a variety of field such as cosmetics, printing inks, paints, and construction materials for improving the aesthetic features. In this paper, hydrothermal synthesis method was used to prepare the manganese and iron dopped with titania pigment. As process parameters, the amount of manganese precursor and iron precursor, and calcined temperature was changed. Optimum amounts of manganese and iron dopped with titania precursor to give excellent color index was manganese 1.0wt% and iron 1.5wt% for dopped titania, and Optimum calcination temperature was $550^{\circ}C$. The synthesized pigments were analyzed by XRD, SEM, EDS, Spectrophotometer and UV-Vis Spectrometer.

  • Phase stability and isothermal phase transformation during gaging at 25$0^{\circ}C$ were investigated in yttria stabilized zirconia powders prepared from hydrolysis of zirconium isopropoxide. The stability of tetragonal phase at room temperature in zirconia powder was decreased with calcination temperature but increased with the addition of yttria content. During aging at 25$0^{\circ}C$ in humid atmosphere isothermal phase transformation occurred in tetragonal zirconia powder stabilized by constraint effect not by alloying effect and grain size effect. Many twins and microcrackings were found in transformed monomlinic zirconia particles.

  • $SnO_2$ as raw material of sensor for $NO_2$ detection was prepared by precipitating $SnCl_4$ solution with aqueous ammonia followed by calcining in air. The characterization of $SnO_2$ was carried out using FT-IR and XRD, and $SnO_2$ thick film sensor was fabricated by screen-printing method. The particle size of $SnO_2$ calcined at higher temperature increased due to the growth of crystalline. $SnO_2$ sensor fabricated by using $SnO_2$ sample calcined at $1000^{\circ}C$ followed by heat treatment at $700^{\circ}C$ exhibited excellent sensing characteristics and selectivity for $NO_2$ gas at the operating temperature of $250^{\circ}C$.

  • 기본 조성식 M $n_{1-x}$/F $e_{2+x}$/ $O_4$(이하 Mg계), M $n_{1-x}$/F $e_{2+x}$/ $O_4$(이하 Mg계)의 식에서 x를 0.0,0.025,0.1,0.2로 변화시키고, 하소온도 80$0^{\circ}C$, 소결은도를 l10$0^{\circ}C$~12$50^{\circ}C$$50^{\circ}C$간격으로 변화 시켰을 때와 Mn계와 Mg계를 1:1로 흔합하였을 때, F $e_2$ $O_3$의 과잉 양이 증가할수록 비저항은 감소하였고, 저항온도계수 $\alpha$는 밀도와 비례하는 관계를 나타내었으며, B정수는 4600(K)에서 10500(K)의 범위를 나타내었다. 본 조성의 실험으로써 Mn-Ni-Co계 서미스터의 대체가 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.있었다.

  • Li ion전지용 LiMn$_{2}$O$_{4}$분말을 졸-겔법과 고상반응법으로 제조하여 분말의 특성과 전지의 특성을 비교하였다. 졸-겔법에 의해 제조된 LiMn$_{2}$O$_{4}$분말은 고상반응법에 의해 제조된 분말보다 낮은 온도에서 합성이 가능하고, 균질하고 작은 입자들로 구성되었으며, Li stoichiometry가 우수하여 전지의 방전용량이 크나 양이온 혼합도가 높아 전지의 내부저항이 크게 나타났다. 졸-겔법은 높은 Li stoichiometry와 균질한 입자 크기를 갖는 LiMn$_{2}$O$_{4}$분말 제조에 적당한 것으로 생각되며, 전지의 내부저항 문제는 분말의 하소온도와 냉각속도의 조절에 의해 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • La$_{0.7}$Ca$_{0.3}$MnO$_3$분말을 용액연소법으로 제조하였으며 분말 특성과 CMR에 응용하기 위해 박막의 전기적, 자기적 특성을 조사하였다. 조성과 구조 특성을 XRD와 SEM으로부터 조사하였으며 분말의 하소온도를 TG 분석으로부터 결정하였다. 또한 소결성은 dilatometer에 의해 조사되었으며 분말 특성은 BET에 의해 조사되었다. 소결성이 우수한 분말을 이용하여 스퍼터 타겟으로 제조하였으며 SiO$_2$/Si 기판 위에 스퍼터링한 후, 온도에 따른 four point probe 측정으로 막의 MR비를 측정하였다. VSM (Vibrating Sample Magnetometer)를 이용하여 증착된 막의 온도에 따른 자화율(Magnetization:M)을 측정하였다. 분말 특성으로는 평균입자 크기가 sub-micron 이하로 초미세하고 49.44$m^2$/g의 비표면적 값을 얻을 수 있었으며 고순도의 perovskite 구조를 갖는 La$_{0.7}$Ca$_{0.3}$MnO$_3$분말을 쉽게 얻을 수 있었다. 온도에 따른 저항값의 변화로부터 96K에서 최고의 MR값을 얻을 수 있었으며, 240K에서 강자성체로 전이되었다.로 전이되었다.

A Study on the Adsorption Characteristic of Cobalt on ZrO2 in High-Temperature Water (고온수중에서 ZrO2의 코발트흡착 특성에 대한 연구)

  • $ZrO_2$ Powder was Prepared by sol-gel process and the adsorption characteristic of cobalt($Co^{2+}$) by $ZrO_2$ adsorbent in high-temperature water was investigated using batch adsorption experiment with a stirred autoclave. The prepared $ZrO_2$ was calcined at $600{\sim}1400^{\circ}C$ and analyzed by X-ray diffractometry, SEM, BET surface area, FT-IR and TG-DTA measurement. The tetragonal Phase of $ZrO_2$ is produced $480^{\circ}C$ from amorphous gel at temperature $480^{\circ}C$. Both tetragonal and monoclinic phase of $ZrO_2$ exist at temperature between $600^{\circ}C$ and $1000^{\circ}C$. At temperature $1200^{\circ}C$, tetragonal to monoclinic phase trasition is occurred. The $Co^{2+}$ adsorption capacity of $ZrO_2$ calcined at $600^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours is 0.16 meq $Co^{2+}/g$ adsorbent in the high temperature at $250^{\circ}C$. The adsorption of $Co^{2+}$ on the $ZrO_2$ adsorbent is irreversible endothermic in the temperature range ($125-175^{\circ}C$). The standard enthalpy change (${\Delta}H^{\circ}$) of $ZrO_2$ calcined at $600^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours is 18 kJ/gmol.
