Influence of Foraging Behaviors of Shorebirds on Habitat use in Rice Fields During Spring Migration (봄철 논습지에 도래하는 도요물떼새류의 취식 행동에 따른 서식지 이용 특성 연구)

  • BACKGROUND: The coexisting shorebirds often use various foraging strategies, including feeding methods and habitat use, which are the likely mechanisms to explain the variation of morphological and behavior traits. We studied the foraging behaviors of four shorebirds to define how species separate according to habitat structures in rice fields of western-central Korea during their northward migration. METHODS AND RESULTS: The studied species were Long-toed Stints (Calidris subminuta), Wood Sandpipers (Tringa glareola), Common Greenshanks (Tringa nebularia), and Black-tailed Godwits (Limosa limosa), which were commonly observed in rice fields and represented by a wide range of morphological traits. Habitats were categorized into three types ("plowed with water", "shallow water level after harrowing", and "deep water level after harrowing") according to the irrigation intensity and soil manipulation of the farming practices. Long-toed Stints mainly foraged in the "plowed with water", where they used both visual and tactile searching methods. Wood Sandpipers and Common Greenshanks were frequently observed in "shallow water level after harrowing" They spent a considerable amount of time using a visual searching method. Black-tailed Godwits were selectively attracted to "deep water level after harrowing" and used tactile cues as their predominant feeding technique. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that the water levels related in soil manipulation and irrigation intensity influence the accessibility to foraging sites and the detectability of prey for shorebirds species.

Study on Applicability of Slope Types to Permission Standard for Forestland Use Conversion (산지의 사면유형을 고려한 산지전용허가기준에 관한 연구)

  • Mountainous areas are 64% in Korea and are allowed to be used by the permission standards of the "Mountainous Districts Management Act". In the act, slope and elevation criteria are defined to regulate the use of vulnerable land parcels to disaster. However, the standards cannot represent topographical variation in a land parcel such as terrain relief. Therefore, the applicability of slope type standard as a permission standard was tested using Catena in this study. Based on the theoretical grounds, two slope types were analyzed as 'risky slope' with disaster risk. The slope types of landslides in Namwon City were analyzed that 'risky slope' types were distributed about 57%. This study analyzed the forestland parcels that could be used when applying the current permission standards and the parcels that were already used in Namwon City. The ratio of the 'risky slope' in the parcels was more than 50%. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent the mountain development in 'risky slope' by establishing permission standard related to slope types. In addition, this study suggested the ratio of 'risky slope' in the parcel for the permission standard for forestland use conversion.

  • 기존 국토환경성펴가지도는 1:25,000 축적을 기본으로 하고 있어 전국이나 광역 차원의 환경성 평가나 개발 가능지 분석, 거시적인 지역의 확인 및 중첩분석시 용이하나 지역 차원의 개발계획 수립부문에서의 활용도를 높일 필요성이 제기 되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 연구지역을 선정하여 기 구축된 국토환경성평가지도의 동일 방법론 및 주제도를 활용하여 1:5,000 축적의 국토환경성평가지도를 재구축고, Vector형태 및 필지단위론 재평가를 실시하여, 1:25,000 축적의 국토환경성평가지도와의 평과 결과를 비교${\cdot}$분석하는데 있다. 연구결과, 기 구축된 연구지역의 1:25,000축적 국토환경성평가지도 등급별 면적 비율은 1등급 23.3등급 29.4%, 3등급 23.9% 4등급 11.7%, 5등급 11.8%를 보이고 있으며, 신규 구축된 연구지역의 1:5,000 축적 국토환경성평가지도 등급별 면적 비율은 1등급 29.3%, 2등급 21.7%, 3등급 17.2%, 4등급 7.1%, 5등급 24.7%이다.

A study on the transformation of cadastral map using Geo-Spatial Information System (지형공간정보체계를 활용한 지적도의 변환에 관한 연구)

  • A cadastral map that is base map on Land Information System is divided by two categories, graphical and digital cadastre. And digital cadastre can be displayed with location coordinates of nodes that depict parcel boundary on digital cadastral records. The transformation of digital cadastral records means that imported text data of node coordinate would be transformed into system data. This study was implemented to search reasons of errors resulted from transformation of graphic data and then to analyze the accuracy in terms of Position and area. For this, checking of software used in Geo-Spatial Information System was implemented at first and it was found that the accuracy is up by using double precision in coordinate transformation. On the position accuracy the errors at nodes was erased during making topology and the errors did not effect other nodes. On the area may the area errors because of being in error limit of allowable area had no problems in using of system.

  • This study reviewed details and case studies of district unit planning to preserve and develop urban tissues concerning a historic urban environment and provide implications for future practice. In particular, this case study examined the role of the district unit planning in city conservation rooted in the experience of Incheon's old town. The old town begins with the opening of Incheon Port and concessions, including Japanese, Qing Dynasty, and multinational settlements. Second, the study established land subdivision planning and reviewed the institutions to encourage urban tissue. Third, the conservation guidelines influenced the conservation and utilization of the streets, such as alleys and old coastlines, the form of parcels called deep and narrow lots, and the exterior elements of buildings. This study also derived implications for the future. First, the street with historical value in the settlement should be excavated further. Second, the parcels in the settlement limit redevelopment to maintain the unique morphological characteristics. Third, the exterior of the buildings should be provided with planning incentives to induce conservation and utilization.

A Study on the Block Structure of the Land Readjustment Project Districts Focused on the case study of Cheongju City in the 1970's (토지구획정리사업지구의 가구(街區)체계에 관한 연구 -1970년대 청주시 사례를 중심으로-)

  • This study examined the characteristics of a district through the concept of a block system in the physical aspect of the four land readjustment project districts of Cheongju City in the 1970s. The results of this study are as follows. First, the local road system for accessing the main road network and blocks was well established compared with the current urban development standards. On the other hand, since the access roads to the individual lots in the block were not equipped properly, it was difficult to improve a house. Second, according to the characteristics of the block, the Aspect Ratio of blocks was 1: 2 on average and most of those directions was east-west. The area of block from the 1st to 3rd districts was increasing, but districts 4 were decreasing. This also was changed to the shape of a contemporary block system. The larger the size of the block area, the lower the Jeobdoyul. Third, in terms of the characteristics of the lot array, blocks with a multi-row system of $4{\times}4$ or more were lots up to the 1st to 3rd district, but 4th district was improved greatly. Because blocks close a square shape have become excessively poor with Jeobdoyul, it was judged that it is difficult to improve the residential environment. Moreover, as the type of the residential development by the land readjustment project is standardized considerably and this type of land area is extensive, it can be an alternative to control the urban sprawl of suburbs if it finds the way to improve this type of the residential area considering this characteristic.

Box-Cox 변형(變形)을 이용한 지가함수(地價函數)의 추정(推定)

  • 공시지가제도하에서 개별필지 가격산정은 지가함수(地價函數) 추정, 비준표(比準表) 작성, 인근 유사 표준지(標準地)와의 특성차이를 감안한 가격결정 과정을 거치는데, 각 단계의 기술적 문제에 대한 연구는 별로 없었다. 이 글은 지가함수(地價函數) 추정에서 log-log함수형태가 통계학적으로 또는 실제 활용상 적합한가의 문제와 지가함수(地價函數) 추정결과를 그대로 지가예측식(地價豫測式)으로 이용할 수 있는가의 두가지 문제를 다루고 있다. 서울시 서초구와 강남구자료에 대해 Box-Cox 변형(變型)을 이용한 지가함수(地價函數)와 log-log형태의 지가함수(地價函數)를 추정하여 비교해 본 결과 통계학적으로는 전자가 우월하지만, 지가추정(地價推定)에서 양자간의 차이는 크지 않았으며 추정비용(推定費用), 활용(活用)의 용이성 등의 관점에서는 후자가 선호되었다. 또 지가함수(地價函數) 추정결과를 현재와 같이 표준지와 여타 토지간의 가격차이(價格差異)를 계산하는 용도로 한정하는 것이 표준지가격(標準地價格) 자체가 가진 정보를 활용하는 방안으로 바람직하다는 결론을 얻었다.

  • The existing cadastral record cannot meet various and changing demands on land information, improve user convenience, and raise administrative efficiency. In addition, three-dimensional parcels, or spatial objects about three-dimensional space cannot be registered in the conventional cadastral record. The limitation of cadastral information based on two dimensions is quite stressing the necessity of three-dimensional cadastral record. The purpose of this study is to develop new limns of cadastral record model in order. In register three-dimensional positions and right relations of land and buildings. This study examined land cases where space was being three-dimensionally used. As the result, cadastral record models both separated by steps and integrated were developed, which can contain matters of land, buildings, and right registration about three-dimensional land parcels. Also, this study suggested a method where a building can be separately registered according to it's the superficies division.

Noise Mapping of Residential Areas by Estimating Urban Traffic Noise (도시교통소음예측에 의한 주거지역 소음지도제작)

  • Traffic noise pollution is a growing problem that highly affects the health of people in urban areas. In order to implement effective measures against traffic noise the noise mapping about its distribution is imperative. Urban traffic noise maps will help to establish the existing baseline so that we will be able to look for the effective way to control the noise. They will also let us see in an understandable and visual way how noise spreads from roads into residential areas. In this paper we considered three development types between roads and residential areas, and applied the interpolation of ArcGIS for noise attenuation with distance from the roads to find the noise level at the parcels positions in residential areas, and then generated the noise map using the interpolated results. Therefore we present results that the traffic noise level within residential areas exceed the national noise standard and also can estimate the noise level of individual parcels. These results can be used for traffic noise control planning or assessment of officially assessed land price in near future.
