The Hi-Art system for TomoTherapy allows only three (1.0 cm, 2.5 cm, 5.0 cm) field widths and this can produce different dose distribution around the end of PTV (Planning target volume) in the direction of jaw movement. In this study, we investigated the effect of field width on the dose difference around the PTV using DQA (Delivery quality assurance) phantom and real clinical patient cases. In the analysis with DQA phantom, the calculated dose and irradiated films showed that the more dose was widely spreaded out in the end region of PTV as increase of field width. The 2.5 cm field width showed a 1.6 cm wider dose profile and the 5.0 cm field width showed a 4.2 cm wider dose profile compared with the 1.0 cm field width in the region of 50% of maximum dose. The analysis with four patient cases also showed the similar results with the DQA phantom which means that more dose was irradiated around the superior and inferior end of PTV as an increase of field width. The 5.0 cm field width produced the remarkable high dose distribution around the end region of PTV and we could evaluate the effect quantitatively with the calculation of DVH (Dose volume histogram) of the virtual PTVs which were delineated around the end of PTV in the direction of jaw variation. From these results, we could verify that the margin for PTV in the direction of table movement should be reduced compared with the conventional margin for PTV when the large field such as 5.0 cm was used in TomoTherapy.
This paper presents the development of certain highly efficient and accurate method for computing tangent curves for three-dimensional vector fields. Unlike conventional methods, such as Runge-Kutta method, for computing tangent curves which produce only approximations, the method developed herein produces exact values on the tangent curves based upon piecewise linear variation over a tetrahedral domain in 3D. This new method assumes that the vector field is piecewise linearly defined over a tetrahedron in 3D domain. It is also required to decompose the hexahedral cell into five or six tetrahedral cells for three-dimensional vector fields. The critical points can be easily found by solving a simple linear system for each tetrahedron. This method is to find exit points by producing a sequence of points on the curve with the computation of each subsequent point based on the previous. Because points on the tangent curves are calculated by the explicit solution for each tetrahedron, this new method provides correct topology in visualizing 3D vector fields.
Vector field has been commonly used to visualize the data set which is invisible or is hard to explain. For instance, it could be used to visualize scientific data such as the direction and amount of wind and water field, transfer of heat through thermally conductive materials, and electromagnetic field. In this paper, we present a technique to enable intuitive recognition of the data though haptic feedback along with visual feedback. To add tactile information to graphical vector field, we model a haptic vector field and then apply it to the haptic map to guide a user to destination and haptic simulation of water field on 2D images whish can be used ill everyday life. These systems allow one to recognize vector information intuitively through haptic interface. We expect that the haptic rendering technique of vector field can be applied to various applications such as education, training, and entertainment.

This paper defines the prototype of the geographic-object field that links the geographic-object and the geographic-field using an object-oriented geographic information system, and then implements the flood simulation in the saemangeum water resources management system that manipulates the water quantity of saemangeum lake and the height of gate using the watershed-object field. This paper combines the natural phenomena with the artificial phenomena that occurs on the water resources of the saemangeum, and designs the object oriented class hierarchy that is composed of the total watershed-object field, and then presents the algorithm for flood control. To visualize the class hierarchy of the whole geographic-object field and the partial geographic-object field, I use the UML(Unified Modeling Language). Attributes and methods of each class can acquire the functional reusability and compatibility using the COM of the ZEUS and the Visual Basic 6.0 of Win32 APIs. By means of implementing the flood simulation in the Saemangeum water resources management system, finally, this paper contributes on the efficient management of water resources.

To integration the field device as a control system correctly in fielders systems. We have to offer the DD(Device Description) with the function and internal parameter into the configuration software. The DD which is written in the DDL(Device Description Lansuage) is made as IEC 61804-PART 2 and it is used in Profibus, Foundation Field bus, HART. However, the DD is dependent to the fieldbus and it doesn't have a suitable form in the industrial Ethernet. Therefore, in this paper, we described the internal function and parameter of the Field device as XDD(XML for Device Description) by using XML (extensible Markup Language) which isn't dependent to fieldbus and has a suitable form for industrial ethernet. Futhermore, we present the possibility of XDD's application in the distributed control system by examining the possibility of ethernet's development in the industrial area.

Under ubiquitous environment, applications can gather and utilize various sensing information. There are many issues such as energy management, protocol standardization, independency on sensor fields, and security to be resolved for the complete ubiquitous computing. Especially, the independent information access in the sensor field is one of the most important issues to maximize the usability of sensors in various sensor fields. However, existing frameworks are not suitable for the ubiquitous computing environment because of data heterogeneity between data elements in sensor fields. Existing applications are dependent to sensor fields and sensors in the existing ubiquitous computing on environment is dependent to the application in the sensor field. In other word, an application can utilize just information from a specific sensor field. To overcome this restriction, many issues from a hardware or software view must be resolved. In this paper, we provide the design and implementation of the Metadata Registry-based framework (UbiMDR) of the Ubiquitous environment. This framework can provides the semantic interoperability among ubiquitous applications or various sensor fields. In addition, we describe comparison evaluation between conventional Ubiquitous computing framework and UbiMDR framework with data accuracy of interoperability.

The best way in order to protect the system resource front Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS) attack is cut off the source of DDoS attack with path retracing the packet which transferred by attacker. Packet marking method can not use ICMP cause by using IP identifier field as marking field. And in case of increasing the number of router, retracing method using router ID has the size of marking field's increasing problem. In this paper, we propose that retracing method can be available the ICMP using marking field for option field in IP header and the size of making Held do not change even though the number of router is increased using the mark information which value obtained through XOR operation on IP address.

This article analyzes the record structure, content designation, and the content of UNIMARC, USMARC, and KORMARC formats for authorities, through the comparative investigation, Structure and content designation are almost same with those of the bibliographic formats, being based on those of ISO 2709. The data fields of USMARC and KORMARC are divided into blocks based on the traditional authority card formats, and those of UNIMARC are divided into functional blocks based on the GARE. Record contents of the formers in the fixed-length fields include more elements on the selectioa status and scope of the heading, and those related to the series. And those of the later include more elements for the international exchange. Based on the analysis of the variable fields, it is recommended that KORMARC should include an additional subfield, say $(\blacktriangledown\;j)$ for the processing of the Hanja(Chinese character) data and add the separate classification fields for series.

In many companies field failure data is used to predict the future number of failures, especially when an unexpected failure mode happens to be a problem. It is because they want to predict the number of spare parts needed and the future quality warranty cost associated with the part based on the predictions of the future number of failures. In this paper field summary data is used to predict the future number of failures based on an appropriate distribution. Other types of data are also investigated to identify the appropriate distribution.
