엔진 파이어링동안 일정 축 각속도에서 비고정식 피스톤-핀과 연결봉-소단부 부싱 및 피스톤-핀 보스의 접촉면 마모해석 (Wear Analysis at the Interface of Connecting-Rod Small-End Bushing and Piston-Pin Boss with a Floating Piston-Pin at Constant Angular Velocity during Engine Firing)

  • In recently designed diesel engines, the running conditions for piston-pin bearings have become severe because of the higher combustion pressure and increased temperature. Moreover, the metal removal from the bushing material has strongly reduced the ability of the antifriction material to accept asperity contacts. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways of reducing wear scar on the connecting-rod small-end bushing and piston-pin boss bearing related to the higher combustion pressure on the power cell of an engine. In this work, the position and level of material removal from the surfaces of the bushing and bearing under such severe operating conditions - for example, maximum power and torque conditions of a passenger car diesel engine - are estimated for several combinations of surface roughness. First, piston-pin rotating motion is investigated by calculating the friction coefficient at piston-pin bearings, the oil film thickness, and the frictional torques induced by hydrodynamic shear stress. Subsequently, the wear scarring on the surfaces of a connecting-rod small-end bushing and two piston-pin boss bearings related to piston-pin rotational motion is numerically calculated under the maximum power and torque operating conditions. This work is helpful to determine the reasonable surface roughness of the bushing and bearing for reducing wear volume occurring at the interface between a bearing and a shaft.

  • 자동차 엔진의 피스톤은 핀 구멍의 복잡한 형상과 2사이클 엔진의 경우 실린더쪽 흡기 및 배기 포트의 위치에 따라 균일하지 않은 열이나 응력 등의 영향에 의한 변형을 고려하여, 상온에서의 형상이 각종 평가 시험을 거쳐 엔진마다 다양한 형상을 갖는 피스톤으로 결정된다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 제어에 의한 방법으로서 타원형상을 갖는 임의의 피스톤을 고속, 고정도로 가공할 수 있는 CNC(Computer Numerical Control)선반 개발에 관하여 연구 하였다. 피스톤 데이터를 퍼스널 컴퓨터로 입력하고 CNC 제어하므로 마스터캠의 제작 불필요, Recess 등과 같은 미세가공 가능, 피스톤의 형상변경 용이, 고속가공 등으로 모방절삭 방식보다 훨씬 높은 생산성 향상이 기대된다.

자동차용 피스톤 핀의 전.후방압출에서 유동제어에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation on the Flow Control in Forward-Backward Extrusion of Piston-Pin for Automobile)

  • In cold forging of piston-pin for automobile parts, the flow defect appears by the dead metal zone. This appearance evidently happens in products with a thin piercing thickness for the dimension accuracy and the decrease of material loss. The best method that can prevent flow defect is removing dead metal zone. The purpose of this study is to investigate the material flow behavior of forward-backward extruded piston-pin through the relative velocity ratio and the stroke control of upper moving punch & container using the flow control forming technique. The finite element simulations are applied to analyse the flow defect, then the results are compared with the plasticine model material experiments. The model experiment results are in good agreement with the FE simulation ones.

  • A theoretical analysis of predicting the detailed motion of a piston-crank mechanism within piston-guide clearance is presented, and the analysis is applied to the piston motion in a gasoline engine. A piston movement program is developed to calculate the piston attitude relative to the bore, the piston to bore impact velocity and kinetic energy loss and the net transverse force acting on the piston. This paper presents the formulation of a set of differential equations governing the transverse and rotational motion of a piston. These equations of motion were solved by well established Runge-Kutta method. As a result of this study, it is possible to predict the effects of piston geometry and piston pin offset on a piston motion and kinetic energy loss.

피스톤 어셈블리의 2차 운동에 관한 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Secondary Motion of Piston Assemblies)

  • This paper describes a simulation of secondary motion of piston assemblies using PISDYN by Ricardo. Motions of the piston, pin, rod and skirt are separately calculated, by integrating equations of motion for individual components and dynamic degrees of freedom. The effects of engine speed at full load and pin offsets on the piston assembly secondary motions, forces and friction were investigated in parametric study for 4-cylinder gasoline engine. Results show that lateral displacement and friction loss of the piston increase as a function of engine speed. The lateral motion of the piston is affected by the change in pin offset. The minimum friction loss for the condition of 4800rpm WOT occurs at a pin offset of 1.6mm.

  • 착륙장치는 회전익 항공기 및 탑승 병력의 생명을 보호해야 하는 고도의 안전성이 요구되는 주요 구성품으로 이/착륙 시 충격을 흡수하고 지상에서 활주 및 계류 시 동체를 지지한다. 특히 항공기 동체를 지지하는 주륜 착륙장치는 지면으로부터 시작되는 충격을 완충장치와 타이어를 통해 대부분 흡수하는 역할을 수행하게 되는데, 이를 통해 항공기에 탑승한 조종사의 안전을 보장하고, 임무 수행 간 병력의 작전 운용능력을 만족시킨다. A 기종 회전익 항공기 운용 중에, 우측 주륜 착륙장치 구성품인 피스톤 핀(Piston Pin)이 다수 파손된 것이 확인되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 주륜 착륙장치에서 발견된 피스톤 핀(Piston Pin) 균열 현상에 대한 근본적인 원인을 찾기 위해, 파면 분석에서부터 비행 시험을 통한 착륙 하중 해석에 이르기까지 다양한 원인 규명 방법을 모색하였다. 특히 개발 당시 피스톤 핀에 적용되었던 드래그 빔(Drag beam) 구성품과의 체결 토크에 대한 영향성을 토대로 균열 발생 가능성들에 대한 분석을 수행하였으며, 이를 통해 피로 수명과 구조건전성을 확보할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • 원통 연삭기(cylindrical grinding machine)는 원통형 공작물을 센터나 척으로 지지하면서 연삭 공정을 수행하기 때문에 연속적인 작업이 어렵지만, 무심 연삭기(centerless grinding machine)는 원통형 공작물을 받침판으로 지지하면서 연삭 숫돌(grinding wheel)과 조정 숫돌(regulating wheel)로 연삭 공정과 축방향 이송을 동시에 수행하기 때문에 연속적인 작업이 가능하다. 특히 고정밀 부품을 작업자의 숙련도와 무관하게 고능률적으로 가공할 수 있는 무심 연삭기는 구름 베어링, 축, 피스톤 핀 등과 같은 고정밀 기계류 부품들을 대량 연삭하기 위한 용도로 많이 사용되어 왔다.(중략)

Moreover, the lead removal from the bush material has strongly reduced the capability of the anti friction material to accept asperity contacts. In this paper, before trying to find the pressure distributions on the oil film of piston pin bearings by the unsteady two dimensional thermohydrodynamic lubrication analysis in order to do the optimum design of the bearings of piston pin, it will be investigated the tendancy of piston pin rotating motion by calculating the friction coefficient at piston pin bearings, the oil film thickness and the frictional torques induced by hydrodynamic shear stress.

In this paper, it will be investigated the tendency of piston pin rotating motion by calculating the friction coefficient at piston pin bearings, the oil film thickness and the frictional torques induced by hydrodynamic shear stress. Finally, the pressure distributions on the oil film of piston pin bearings will be found by two-dimensional lubrication analysis in order to help the optimum design of the bearings of piston pin. Specially, it is investigated the effects on the film pressure distribution due to the change in maximum combustion pressure.
