  • 현재 자동차 검사 또는 정비 현장에서는 특정 삼원촉매변환기가 요구 내구 수명을 제대로 만족시키지 못하여 파손되는 사례가 발생되고 있다. 이러한 삼원촉매장치의 경우 배기가스 변환 효율이나 압력강하 등은 엔진 효율 측면에서 만족되지만 열적 내구성은 만족되지 못한다. 본 연구에서는 열유동 해석 및 구조 해석을 통하여 국내 승용차용 삼원촉매 변환기의 대한 열적 안전성에 대하여 검토하였다.

쇼트피이닝한 부재의 피로수명 예측 및 피로강도 평가 (Fatigue Life Prediction and Strength Evaluation of Shot Peened Parts)

  • A review was performed on fatigue life prediction and strength evaluation of shot peened parts. Fatigue strength of machine parts can be improved by shot peening due to compressive residual stresses on such parts. Compressive residual stress cannot be uniquely define by peening intensity. Several measuring methods of residual stress and the principle of hole drilling method are presented. Exploratory measurement of residual stress was performed on the shot peened SM35C plate with the hole drilling method. Fatigue life and failure location of shot peened parts under bending load can be predicted by a damage parameter which is incorporated with material properties, residual stress, and applied stress conditions. Some method are presented to predict the fatigue strength of shot peened parts at any given life. Shot peening gives its full benefit to the notched machine parts of high strength steels.

저비중 SMC 외장패널의 피로특성 평가 (An Evaluation of the Fatigue Properties for External Panel Using Low Density SMC)

  • A research for application of LDSMC(Low Density Sheet Molding Compound) composite is in progress for lightening the weight. This paper has performed fatigue test and simulation of external panel for Korean commercial vehicle. Before the fatigue test, static test was carried out. From the test, the structural safety was investigated using Goodman diagram. After the static test performance, the fatigue test was conducted at a range of load frequency 5Hz, a stress ratio(R) of 0.05 and an endurance limit of $10^6$ to obtain the S-N curve. The S-N curve is applied to the fatigue analysis of the external panel assembly. The result of FEM analysis was in accord with the experimental result within 83% confidence. It showed that the process to set up the safety range of allowable error is required in process of the design and simulation verification.

  • In this study, the fatigue life assessments of steel railway bridge in Japan National Railway were carried out. This railway bridge has been under in service from 1957, and fatigue damages were occurred at bead toe of upper part of vertical stiffeners of stringers, bead toes of scallop in lower part of vertical stiffeners in stringers and crossings of cross beams and stringers. From this study, a series of field tests were carried out by stress history measurement about above mentioned points. And as a results of stress histogram analysis, cummulative fatigue damage rate and fatigue life of these members should be calculate quantitatively. And from this estimation technique, cummulative fatigue damage rate and fatigue life of this railway bridge were strongly affected in passing tonage every year and the histories of live load.

  • The brakes are the most important safety-critical accident avoidance components of a motor vehicle. They must perform safely under a variety of operating conditions and must have enough strength not to fail during the life of a vehicle. Recently, anti-lock brake systems are used on more and more passenger cars. The ABS brakes modulate brake line pressure to prevent brakes from locking during braking. In this study, finite element analysis, material test for FCD45, measurement of stress and cumulative fatigue damage analysis were performed to evaluate fatigue damage of the caliper housing under ABS mode.

  • The gas nitro-carburizing treatment with the merits of carburizing and nitriding treatment is recently applied to transmission gears. the shafls of an engine oil pump and steering shafls. For all that, the researches of the gas nitro-carburizing treatment are short of the fatigue behavior and the evaluation of fatigue life. In this paer, it is examined for the effect of inclusions and hole defects with fatigue limit and the evaluation of the fatigue strengthaccording tothe hardness and resifualstress with the specimen of a notro-carburizing treatment.

  • The purpose of this study is to predict the life of a Lug under the real service load history. The techniques of predicting a fatigue life under load spectrum are discussed and some are developed. The stress is calculated by multiplying the stress under unit force with the Finite Element Analysis. The cycles are counted by the Rainflow counting method and then the mean stress effect is considered by the suggested conversion function. The Manson's Double Linear Damage Rule is used as the cummulative damage method.

  • 각종 기기 구조물이나 인간은 세월이 흐를수록 원래 그들이 가지고 있는 최적의 상태에서 점차로 열화 및 노화되어 간다. 이와 더불어 가혹한 주변환경이나 무리한 작동 및 활동으로 인한 피로, 관리 및 유지의 소홀함등과 같은 이유가 열화 및 노화현상을 더욱 가속화시키고 있다. 그림 8에 서로간의 연관성을 정리하여 나타내고 있다. 특히 막대한 자금으로 여러 가지 목적으로 설비된 기계구조물이 노후화되어감에 따라 유지, 검사 및 보수의 허로 인한 대형사고의 결과는 국가경 제뿐만 아니라 수많은 인명의 위험이 뒤따르므로 그것들의 방지책으로는 정확한 수명예측을 위한 기술적 터득과 더불어 데이터의 축적, 신뢰성 있는 평가방법들의 개발에 관한 투자와 연구가 시급한 실정이며, 인체의 노화에 대해서도 인적자원의 관리면에서 투자와 연구가 긴요하다는 것은 설명의 여지가 없다. 이러한 목적을 위해서는 각 전문분야의 학술적 교류와 더불어 산 . 학. 연의 공동연구를 통한 지속적 연구노력이 계속되어야 할 것이다.

  • In order to secure the safety of power steering system, it is necessary to perform the strength and the fatigue analysis of pulley in this paper. The applied stress distribution of the pulley subject to combined loads condition was obtained using finite element analysis. Based on these results, the fatigue life of the pulley with the variation of the fatigue strength was evaluated using durability analysis simulator. The optimal hole size to improved the safety of the pulley was investigated using parametric study. Moreover, the predicted fatigue life cycle with the simulator was verified by experimental tests.

  • Fatigue failure modes of load-carrying cruciform weld joints are dependent on the characteristics of the fatigue crack initiation and propagation from the weld toe or the weld root. In this study, constant amplitude fatigue tests on load-carrying fillet welded specimen carried out, and fatigue strengths were evaluated. Also, an attempt is made to develop a new analytical model with more accuracy to predict the fatigue crack propagation life of fillet welded cruciform joints of SWS 490B steels containing lack of penetration defects. From the result of this study, fatigue crack growth characteristics of load-carrying fillet welded cruciform joints, containing lack of penetration defects are found to be affected by the weld geometry, stress range and microstructures of the weld zone.
