  • It is improtant to examine life or crack propagation behavior of structures because of its safety evaluation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of crack-crack interaction to evaluate fatigue life and crack behavior. In this study, the behavior of the interaction of two cracks is studied by experiment. The vertical distance of two cracks is varied to make different interaction stress field. In addition, the effect of plastic zone is considered to examine crack propagation path and propagation rate.

  • 본 연구에서는 결함재의 결함선단에 발생 전파하는 피로거동을 검토하기 위해서 미소원공과 미소슬릿을 가공하고, 이것들의 피로한도를 기준으로 해서 이들 결함의 형상이 피로크랙 전파특성에 미치는 영향을 상세히 고찰하고자 한다.

  • Because of the existence of stress interaction field made by other defects and propagating cracks, the structure may be weakened. Therefore in this study, the crack behavior in the interaction field made by two different cracks is studied experimentally. In the experiment, vertical distance between two cracks and applied stress are varied to make different stress interacted field. In addition, the effect of plastic zone is used to examine crack propagation path and rate. Three types of crack propagation in the interacted field were found, and crack propagating path and rate of two cracks were significantly changed according to different applied stress as each crack propagates. And the results are attributed to the effect of the size and shape of the plastic zone.

미소원공주위의 피로크랙발생전파 거동에 관한 연구 (Behavior of Initiation and Propagation of Fatigue Cracks around Microholes)

  • This study has been made to investigate into the behavior of fatigue limit, of fatigue crack initiation, and of fatigue crack propagation under the condition of rotating bending stress; specifically on the independency of stress field as well as the crack behavior of surface micro hole defect, which is made artificially through the specimen. The results obtained can be summarized as followa; 1) For the single micro hole defect, initiation of fatigue crack is occurred at both tips of microhole defect simultaneosly along the slip which are produced in the range of maximum principal stress arround micro hole defect independent of the size of micro hole defect. 2) For the neighbored deuble micro hole defects with equal size, in the range ($\frac{L}{r}$)ratio $\gtrsim$ 3 defined as the size of micro hole defect(2r) to the distance between the centers of micro hole defects (2L), the crack behavior of the micro hole defects is same as single one. However, for the range of $\frac{L}{r}$<3, the interference effect becomes significant as the ratio approaches to 1.

  • 본 연구에서는 상술한 $\boxDr$한계정유길이$\boxUl$를 찾아내는 것을 주요수단으로 하여, 그 전파 하한계응력으로서의 피로한도와의 관계를 정량적으로 검토하고, 미소크랙전파 거동이 미시조직 또는 피로부하이력등에 민감함을 감안하여, 이들 인자가 미소크랙 전 파의 하한계조건에 미치는 영향에 관하여 검토하기로 하였다.

  • In this study, the mechanical behavious of a center crack which propagates between two holes in a panel are investigated. It is confirmed experimentally and analytically that a center crack stops and a small crack initiates from holes and propagates to fracture because of the compressive stress arising along the path of the fatigue crack propagation. Futhermore, it is noted that regardless of the configuration of the crack and the structure, Paris' law can be applied to the fatigue crack propagation.

  • This study investigates the behavior of fatigue crack propagating between holes of holes filled with another materials. When holes of the holes filled with another materials are located symmetrically near a center crack, it is noted that the crack propagation rate is influenced by both the bonding force of the brazing part and the elastic modulus of another material. It is experimentally and analytically confirmed that the center crack stops when its tip reaches near the center line of the holes and a small crack is initiated from the boundaries of holes of the holes filled with another materials and it propagates to final fracture.

종첩법에 의한 용접잔류응력장에서의 피로크랙전파거동의 고찰 (The study of fatigue crack propagation behavior in the welding residual stress field by superposition method)

  • This study investigates the crack propagation behavior to examine the effect of welding residual stress by the superposition method. Especially, as the crack propagation behavior is affected by the applied stress and the stress ratio in compressive residual stress filed, it is studied for three cases as follows; (1) $K_{min}$is smaller than l $K_{r}$l, (2) $K_{min}$ is smaller than l $K_{r}$l in the later stage, (3) $K_{min}$is lager than l $K_{r}$l. The resuslts show that the superposition method is very useful in all the three cases of compressive residual stress field, but is inappropriate in predicting the crack propagation behavior in tensile residual stress field.field.field.

  • 본 연구에서는 자연적인 미소흠함주위에 발생, 전파하는 피로크랙의 거동을 검토하기 위하여, 기존재료가 갖고 있는 흠함이나 비금속개재물을 대신할 수 있다고 생각되는 크기가 다른 비관통 인공미성구멍을 갖는 여러 종류의 시험편을 준비하고, 이 시험편들이 갖는 인공미성구멍주위에 발생전파하는 피로크랙의 거동을, 금속현미경 관찰을 토대로 상세히 고찰하였다. 그리고 이러한 관찰을 기초로 하여 비관통인공미 성구멍의 대성에 따른 피로한계도거동에 대해서도 고찰하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 2상계 스테인리스강의 모재 및 용접부에 대하여 대기중의 피로시험과 인공해수중의 부식피로 시험을 모재부와 용접부의 .alpha.,.gamma.상의 상비율 변화에 따른 조직의 변화 및 용접잔유응력의 영향이 크랙전파에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 응력-스트레인의 히스테리스곡선에서 균열닫힘 거동을 실측하고 이들의 결과로 부터 유효응력확대계수와 균열전파속도와 관계를 정리하여 이들의 문제를 해석하였다.
