An Experimental Study on the Fatigue Behavior of H & Channel-Type Lining Board (H형 복공판과 Channel형 복공판의 피로거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the H & Channel type lining board's capacity by using the fatigue test. The accumulated test result will be used to analyze the relation between the cause of crack occurrence and the behavior of structure. H type lining boards was comfortable behaved in over one million recycled. loading test. In case of channel type lining board specimens occurred the fatigue fracture in about one hundred thousand recycled loading test, and then could not secured endurance life that used servicing load.

  • 현재 장애인의 삶의 질을 향상시키고자 노력의 하나로서 장애인을 위한 다양한 정보통신기기들이 개발되고 있다. 그 중에서 지체장애인을 위한 가상자판(virtual keyboard)은 눈동자의 방향에 따라 글자를 입력하는 장치이다. 현재 만들어지는 가상자판은 눈의 피로를 고려하지 않아서 실생활에서 사용하기에 어려운 점이 많다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 유전 알고리즘(genetic algorithms)을 이용하여 가상자판의 배열을 최적화하는 방법을 제시한다. 실험 결과는 피로도, 이동거리, 글쇠 누르는 횟수에 있어서 전반적으로 좋은 성능을 보이고 있다.

Pre-fatigue Damage of the Strengthened Bridge Deck for Study on Fatigue Behavior (피로거동파악을 위한 성능향상된 교량상판의 사전피로손상의 고찰)

  • Fatigue damage to reinforced concrete bridge decks have been found in many bridges. Failure mode of most reinforced concrete decks is caused by local punching shear rather than flexural moment due to cumulated damage. In this study, mechanical degradation of unstrengthened and strengthened bridge deck specimens is experimentally investigated. The unstrengthened deck specimens were damaged under the pulsating loading condition. After the test, deteriorated deck specimens were strengthened with Carbon Fiber Sheet, then loaded to observe the improvement of the fatigue behavior. It is shown that fatigue damaged specimens are similar to real bridge rather than static damaged specimens.

  • In this study, a strain-controlled fatigue test of widely-used 316L stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties was conducted, in order to assess its fatigue life. Low cycle fatigue behaviors were analyzed at room temperature, as a function of the strain amplitude and strain ratio. The material was hardened during the initial few cycles, and then was softened during the long post period, until failure occurred. The fatigue life decreased with increasing strain amplitude. Masing behavior in the hysteresis loop was shown under the low strain amplitude, whereas the high strain amplitude caused non-Masing behavior and reduced the mean stress. Low cycle fatigue life prediction based on the cyclic plastic energy dissipation theory, considering Masing and non-Masing effects, showed a good correlation with the experimental results.

  • This study proposes the optimal ratio of vertical load-carrying capacity (${\beta}$) by investigating structural performances and economic efficiency in the extradosed bridges. Without design standards for the extradosed bridge, Japanese design standards have been used domestically. For the design live load, DL24 is found to be more adequate than DB24. Using the DL24 load, parameter studies are carried out. The parameters are 'main tower height', 'main girder stiffness', and 'cable arrangement'. As a result, it is found that one side cable-stayed extradosed bridges are more economical than double side cable-stayed extradosed bridges. This study also shows that when the ratio of vertical load-carrying capacity(${\beta}$) is 30~50% in the extradosed bridge with the ratio of tower height to main span length 1/6, the extradosed bridge is most economical because of the cable stress less than the allowable stress.

A Study on the Flexural Fatigue Behavior of R/C Beams Repaired with Concrete-Polymer Composites (유기 및 유기재료로 보수된 R/C 보의 휨 피로거동에 관한 연구)

  • In this thesis, the fatigue tests were performed on a series of R /C beams repaired with co& crete-lmlyrner composites to investigate the fatigue bahavior. The three point loading system is used in the fatigue tests. In these tests, relations between the repeated loading cycles and mid-span deflections, number of repeated loading cycles when repaired beams were fractured, the bonding performance of repair materials were observed. On this basis, the mid-span deflections, the crack growth and failure mode of repaired R /C beams were studied. A S-N curve was drawn to present the fatigue strength of repaired beams. From the test results, it was shown that behavior of R /C beams repaired with polymer-cement series were very sirnillar to control beam about bonding performance, mid-span deflections and fatigue strength according to S-N curve drawn by the regression anlysis on the fatigue test results.

  • 용접구조물에서 용접이음부가 차지하는 비율은 매우 작은 경우가 많지만 용접이음부에는 각종 초기결함(이들 결함으로부터 진전하는 피로 균열, 환경에 의한 균열등을 포함) 및 용접 초기의 부정형을 비롯해서 형상적 불연속 등에서 유기되는 국부적인 응력, 변형률의 집중, 잔류응력, 구속응력, 용접금속이 갖는 숙명적인 야금적 특성의 불균일, bond부 및 HAZ부에서의 용접열 싸이클에 의한 재질의 국부적 강도저하등 용접부의 강도를 저하시키는 인자들이 복합되기 쉽고, 용접구조물 전체의 내파괴 건전성평가에서 용접부가 파괴 강도는 매우 중요하다. 용접구조물의 설계, 시공의 목적은 소요성능의 확보에 있고 구조물이 사용중에 성능손실이나 불안정 파괴가 발생하지 않도록 하는 것이 주요요건이 될 것이다. 현재의 제강기술수준에서 볼 때 모재의 강 도보다 오히려 용접부의 강도 특히 피로강도 및 파괴 인성을 적절하고 합리적으로 평가하는 것이 매우 중요하다고 해도 과언이 아닐 것이다. 용접부의 강도를 평가하는데 있어서 용접부에 발 생하는 용접결함에 대한 평가는 매우 중요하며 이들 결함에 대한 허용결함한계를 평가하여 보수 여부 및 용접구조물의 신뢰성을 평가 할 필요가 있다.

  • Large-scale model tests of welded tubular K-joints were carried out to observe the fatigue behavior of API 2W Gr.50 steel produced by POSCO. The fatigue crack behaviors for various loading conditions were measured and investigated around the critical joint sections. The experimental results have been verified with numerical approaches and were also compared with the IIW, DnV RP-C203 and API RP 2A-WSD design curves. The hot-spot stress method was applied in the study. The SCF factor for tubular K-joint was also obtaine.
