  • This paper describes an analytical solution of the voltage commands for instantaneous torque control of an I.M. The analytical solution is expressed as a simple explicit function of the instantaneous torque commands and motor speed. On the basis of the derived analytical solution, the maximum torque change rate of an I.M with a limited voltage-source is analyzed, and also the dynamic influence of rapid changes in motor speed on output torque derivations is investigated. The detailed results of these two analyses are approximated here in term of first-order linear differential equations, and their validities are confirmed through the demonstrative numerical simulations. This paper includes the simulation results of the instantaneous torque control with varied motor parameters for sensitivity analysis.

  • Automatic gauge control algorithm in rolling process is composed of several functions. Among them feedforward control method is used to compensate irregularity of input strip thickness before rolling process. Since it's very difficult to get an explicit relation between the degree of irregularity of input strip and manipulated variables, approximate linear equation like straight line is used in real system. Furthermore parameters included in such static equation should be changed by characteristics of input strip and modified by roll states. Despite this problem, rolling process use variables in feedfroward controller as a constant. Therefore this problem increases the possibilities of irregularity of thickness control. This paper presents an algorithm which can properly infer present states of process and intelligently manipulate the parameter of feedforward controller.

  • Noise propagated through the ventilation openings of enclosures is actively controlled using an FIR filter. The enclosures considered in this paper are used for isolating noise due to machinery. This method is of limited use because of the ventilation openings through which most of noise is propagated. Feedforward control strategy is incorporated to minimize the acoustic power propagated through the openings. For the real-time implementation, although it is numerical study, the controller is implemented using an FIR filter. The acoustic transfer functions of the pressure on the openings of the enclosure to the primary source and to the secondary source are numerically calculated using the boundary element method. The performance analysis of the active control is conducted with the time-domain simulation using Matlab Simulink.

일산화탄소 농도 예측 기능을 사용한 터널 환기 제어 알고리즘 (A Tunnel Ventilation Control Algorithm by Using CO Density Prediction Algorithm)

  • For a long road tunnel, a tunnel ventilation system may be used in order to reduce the pollution level below the required level. To control the tunnel pollution level, a closed loop control algorithm may be used. The feedforward prediction algorithm and the cascade control algorithm were developed to regulate the CO level in a tunnel. The feedforward prediction algorithm composed of the traffic estimation algorithm and the CO density prediction algorithm, and the cascade control algorithm composed of the jet fan control algorithm and the air velocity setpoint algorithm. The verification of control algorithms was carried out by dynamic models developed from the actual tunnel data. The simulation results showed that control algorithms developed for this study were effective for the control of the tunnel ventilation system.

  • Enclosures are widely used to alleviate the contribution of machinery noise. It has been long concerned with the noise transmission through the access openings of the enclosures. In this study, we investigate active noise control technology for reduction of the transmission. A numerical model based on the acoustic boundary element method is first established. Using the numerical model, the acoustic transfer functions of the field points over the opening to the primary source at arbitrary locations are estimated. The feedforward control to minimize the acoustic power through the opening is then numerically implemented. The controller drives the secondary source to destructively interfere the noise transmission through the opening. Finally, a parametric study is conducted to evaluate the effects of the location and the number of the microphones on the control performance. Furthermore, the effects of the location of the secondary source on the performance of active noise control are investigated. It is followed that the control system implemented in this study leads to a significant reduction of about 31.5 dB in the sound power through the opening using only one secondary source located at the optimized position.

  • In this study, kinematic analysis of forward kinematic, inverse kinematic and jacobian for 6-bar parallel robot was analyzed. In order to analyze the maximum workspace of 6-bar parallel robot, maximum revolution range of active joint was calculated. Also, to analyze forward dynamics and inverse dynamics of 6-bar parallel robot, recurdyn and simmechanics was utilized. Using a PI controller and Feedforward controller make an experiment with square motion of end_effector. The reference value of active joint and trace of end_effector were compared with actual experimental value.

능동형 위상보정을 이용한 정밀 속도리플 제어기의 개발 (The Development of Velocity Ripple Controller Using Active Phase Compensation)

  • Velocity ripple in manufacturing processes reduces productivity and limits the precision of the product. In practice, the frequency and phase of velocity ripples always change minutely, which makes it impossible to compensate for the ripple by simply inserting an opposite feed-forward signal in the system. In this study, an active-phase compensation algorithm was developed to enable the velocity-ripple controller to track the phase change of the ripples in real time. The proposed controller can compensate for the velocity ripple whatever its cause, including disturbance by the torque ripple. The algorithm consists of three functional modules: the velocity-ripple extractor, the synchronized integrator, and the phase shifter. Experimental results showed that the proposed controller clearly reduces velocity ripples with phase variation.

  • The active control of noise generated by the compressor and transmitted out of the machine room through the windows is implemented based on the FIR filter. The machine room contains most of noise sources of electric home appliances, air-conditioners and refrigerators, for example. To actively reduce the noise from the machinery room. In this paper, the transfer function of the controller for minimization of the acoustic power transmitted through the windows is mathematically formulated. The transfer functions required for implementation of the active controller are the measured. The measurements are conducted in this initial stage under the operation of the compressor with no load. For improvement of the reliability of the transfer function of the compressor to the acoustic power, additional operational measurements are performed. The real time controller is implemented based on the FIR filter using the measured transfer functions and the performance of the active controller is estimated. Control performance is measured about 3 dB ~ 10 dB in reduction of the sound power at the peaks of the compressor noise.

  • AFC (Adaptive Feedforward Control) is significantly employed for improving control performance of dynamic systems particularly involving periodic disturbance signals in engineering fields. This paper presents a novel hybrid AFC approach for discrete-time systems with multiple disturbances in terms of control input and state variables. The proposed AFC mechanism is hierarchically composed of a conventional feedforward control framework and PID auxiliary control configuration in parallel. The former is generic to decrease periodic disturbance excited to control actuators and the latter is additionally constructed to overcome control deterioration due to time-varying uncertainty under given systems. We carry out numerical simulation to test reliability of our proposed hybrid AFC system and compare its control performance to a well-known conventional AFC method with respect to time and frequency domains for proving of its superiority.
