DAF공정에서 개체군 수지를 이용한 기포-플록 응집체의 부상효율과 수리학적 부하율의 운전특성 평가 (Evaluation on Flotation Efficiency of Bubble-floc Agglomerates and Operation Characteristics of Hydraulic Loading Rate Using Population Balance in DAF Process)

  • The main advantage of dissolved air flotation (DAF) in water treatment process is the small dimension compared with conventional gravity sedimentation and it can be basically reduced by the separation zone performed with the short solid-liquid separation time. Fine bubbles make such a short time possible to carry out solid from liquid separation as a collector on the course of water treatment. Therefore, the dimension of separation zone in DAF process is practically determined by the rise velocity of the bubble-floc agglomerates, which is a floc attached with several bubbles. To improve flotation velocity and particle removal efficiency in DAF process, many researchers have tried to attach bubbles as much as possible to flocs. Therefore, the maximum number of attached bubble on a floc and the rise velocity of bubble-floc agglomerates considered as the most important factor to design the separation zone of flotation tank in DAF process was simulated based on the population balance theory. According to the simulation results of this study, the size and volume concentration of bubble influenced on the possible number of attached bubble on a floc. The agglomerates attached with smaller bubble was more sensitive to hydraulic loading rate in the separation zone of DAF process. For the design of a high rate DAF process applied over surface loading 40 m/hr. it is required a precise further study on the variation of bubble property and behavior including in terms of bubble size distribution.

폐수처리시스템에서의 그람 양성 세균 모니터링 방법 (A Rapid Method for Monitoring of Gram-positive Bacteria in Wastewater Treatment Systems)

  • 폐수 처리 시스템의 그람 양성 세균을 간편하고 신속하게 모니터링할 수 있는 그람 염색 방법을 개발하였다. 각각 4종류의 그람 양성 세균과 음성 세균의 배양액을 polyethersulfone membrane filter와 Toluidine Blue-O로 여과 및 염색하였다. 염색된 여과막을 건조시키고 스캔하였으며, 영상 분석 프로그램을 이용하여 빨강색, 녹색, 파랑색의 강도를 측정하는 정량적 색상 이미지 분석법을 개발하였다. 그람 양성 세균의 경우 그람 음성 세균보다 빨간색과 초록색 수치가 높게 나타났다. 본 방법을 그람 양성 세균이 혼합된 활성슬러지에 적용한 결과, 활성슬러지의 경우 플록의 불규칙한 크기와 형태로 측정이 어렵다 할지라도 플록 분산 기술을 이용하여 활성슬러지의 그람 양성 세균의 변화를 모니터링 할 수 있었다. 활성슬러지에서도 그람 양성 세균의 비율이 높아질수록 빨간색과 초록색 수치가 증가하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 방법은 폐수처리 시스템에 존재하는 그람 양성 세균을 신속하고 정량적으로 모니터링 할 수 있다.

정수장 플록형성지의 수리학적 특성과 교반강도가 플록형성 효율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Hydraulic Property and Mixing Intensity of Flocculation Basin on Flocculation Efficiency in Water Treatment Plant)

  • The main purpose of the flocculation process is to make flocs bigger to be removed easily in the following processes. The flow pattern and mixing intensity have a great influence on flocculation. In this study, the flow pattern was examined by a hydraulic tracer-test, where 3 water treatment plants having $800,000m^3/d$, $44,000m^3/d$ and $40,000m^3/d$ were employed. Also, the settling test was conducted to find out the relationship between the mixing intensity and the settling ability of flocs. The hydraulic tracer-test was conducted for the various flocculation processes that have different structures of flocculation basins. In the result, the retention time distribution (RTD) curves for the flocculation processes were quite different. In case of the inappropriate structure of the flocculation basin, the flow is not even so that the floc does not grow enough. To find out the relationship between mixing intensity and settleability of flocs, G-values were calculated and the settling test was conducted for two flocculation basins which have the same conditions except the G-value. For the flocculation basin with uneven G-value, the floc settleability was revealed poor. On the other hand, the flocculation basin with even G-value, the settleability was better than the previous one. From these experimental results, it is confirmed that the flow pattern is closely related to the structure of the flocculation basin and the settleability is affected by mixing intensity. Therefore the flow pattern and the strength of the mixing intensity should be examined sufficiently to design and operate flocculation basin.

용존공기부상(DAF) 공정을 이용한 생물학적 플록의 부상분리 (Flotation Separation of Biological Floc Using the Dissolved Air Flotation Process)

  • The behavior of biological particles in DAF (dissolved air flotation) process was analyzed by employing PBT (Population balance theory). After decline growth phase of activated sludge, the value of the initial collision-attachment efficiency was increased over than 0.35 corresponding relatively high value in the whole life cycle of microorganism. For practical application of DAF as a solid separation process. It is desirable that microbial particles should be operated to perform high solid removal efficiency in biological wastewater treatment.

정수처리에서 전기응집과 화학응집의 처리효율 비교 (Comparison of Electrocoagulation and Chemical Coagulation in Removal on Water Treatment)

  • Electrocoagulation has been suggested as a promising alternative to conventional coagulation. The process is characterized by reduced sludge production, no requirement for chemical use, and ease of operation. However, this coagulation has scarcely been studied in water purifying process. This study was performed several batch experiments to compare turbidity removal between electrocoagulation and chemical coagulation. In addition, characteristics of floe were evaluated with zeta potential and particle size distributions. Electrocoagulation showed a relatively higher removal of turbidity (approximately 5%) with the same aluminum amount than conventional chemical coagulation. In addition, turbidity removal by electrocoagulation was less sensitive to pH and was greater for more extensive pH range than chemical coagulation. The results of zeta potential and floc size distributions illustrated that electrocoagulation provided the preferable conditions for coagulation such as zeta potential close to zero millivolt and increased portions of particles in the range of 40 and $100{\mu}m$.

  • In this paper enantioselective production of levofloxacin by porcine liver esterase was investigated, To enhance the produc0-tivity various factors which affect the enzyme activity and the enantioselectivity were optimized, In terms of temperature and pH 45$^{\circ}C$ and 4.8 were found to be the best conditions for enzyme reaction. Addition of ofloxacin butyl ester the substrate at the concentration of 5 g/L was desirable to avoid the product inhibition and the activity of porcine liver esterase was maintained up to 72 hours.In addition to enhance the availability of substrate effect of solvent was also examined. It was found that the application of 5% (v/v) of acetone acetonitrile and dimethylsulfoxide did not increase the conversion of substrate and the presence of 5%(v/v) butanol inhibited the enzyme activity significantly.

응집의 이론(II) -플록형성에서의 G값의 의의- (Theory of Coagulation(II) -The (Relative) Insignificance of G in Flocculation-)

  • The mean velocity gradient, G, has been used as a principal design and operation parameter for flocculation unit. This paper questions that significance. The physical and qualitative meaning of collision efficiency factors of each transport mechanism (Brownian motion, fluid shear, and differential sedimentation) are reviewed. The overall collision frequency function is calculated by summing up the collision frequency function of each mechanism. In the collision of two particles of different size, a diagram showing the dominant region in which each mechanism is important is developed and the meaning of the diagram is discussed. The primary ramification of this curvilinear, heterodisperse approach is that G is found to be not nearly so important. Previous experimental work in which the role of G has been examined is reviewed in light of this finding.

Q-35(발오플록사신)의 결정다형 (Polymorphism of Q-35 (Balofloxacin))

  • Six polymorphic modifications of Balofloxacin (Q-35) were obtained by the recrystallization from different organic solvents and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). The dissolution patterns of these six modifications were also checked in distilled water at $37{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$, 50 rpm for 60 minutes. The polymorphic modifications showed significant differences in the dissolution rate. The dissolution rate of Mod. 1 was faster than that of other polymorphic modifications. The transformation during storage was also studied.

  • KOWACO - ChangWon Branch - have conducted the new study which aimed to improve flocculation performance in Mixers. The Purposes in this study were increasing flocculation efficiency by finding significant factor which was affected flow characteristics. In the result of this research we modified the error in equation of G-value and RPM which have been used till quite recently. Also we developed program auto-calculating G-value and RPM and then we had made their statistical list. We had conducted experiment with flocculation Mixer's model sized 1/10 by PIV's method. We analysed characteristic of all flow fields by changing case such as changing direction of flocculator roatation etc.

시판 노르플록사신 정계의 생체내 이용률 (Bioavailability of Commercially Available Norfloxncin Tablets)

  • This study was attempted to investigate the dissolution rate and the bioavailability after oral administration of commercially available norfloxacin tablets in rabbits. The dissolution test was conducted in artificial gastric juice using basket method with for norfloxacin preparations (A, B, C and D) which were chemically equivalent. The results were as follows ; The dissolution rate was increased in the order of four different brand A>D>B>C. Area under the plasma concentration curve and peak plasma concentration were increased in the order of brand A>D>B>C. Absorption rate constant and peak time were increased in the order of brand B>A>C>D, and there was a little difference in elimination rate constant and biological half-life. The correlation of the dissolution rate and relative bioavailability showed significant linear relationship. From the results of this experiment, the bioavailability of norfloxacin tablets in rabbits may be predicted from the results of dissolution rate studies.
