프뢰벨 은물의 시각적 조형원리에 대한 연구 (A Study on the formative principles of Freobel′s Gifts)

  • 프뢰벨이 1837에 창안한 은물(Gifts)은 유아교구에서 구체적이고 체계적인 놀이감을 이용한 최초의 교수매체였다. 프뢰벨이 은물의 형태에서 제시하고 있는 육면체, 원기둥, 구의 형태와 점선면의 개념, 그리고 6개 색채 등의 조형적 개념은 근대디자인에서 시각적 조형요소의 기초를 이루게 된다. 그러나 프뢰벨 유아교육사상을 현실적으로 교육현장에 적용하기 위하여 제시된 교육적 놀이감인 은물교구에 대한 디자인적 고찰과 분석은 거의 이루어지고 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 프뢰벨 은물에 대한 시각적 조형성을 분석하여 봄으로써 프뢰벨 교육사상이 은물의 조형적인 형태생성에 끼친 구조적 원리를 고찰하고자 한다. 따라서 은물이 가지고 있는 조형원리에 대한 분석을 통하여 추상적이고 철학적인 사상체계가 시각적으로 어떻게 형태에 적용되었는지를 연구하였다. 본 연구는 은물교구에서 제시되고 있는 조형성에 대한 탐색적 고찰로서, 기하조형에 대한 형태생성원리의 연구이며, 그에 대한 영향력과 유아교구의 조형성에 대한 문제점을 디자인적 시각에서 분석하여 본 것이다.

프뢰벨 은물의 형식범주에 나타난 건축공간관계 및 형태구축에 관한 연구 (A study on the spatial relations and shape rules in architecture shown the Froebel's categories of building gifts)

  • This study was performed to construct the spatial systems and shape grammars in architecture based on Froebel's educational idea and building gifts. Especially, it studies on the geometrical principles of Froebel's building gifts and it's types, and then illustrates applied examples about design vocabularies, spatial relations and shape rules of the spatial systems and shape grammars in architecture. The conclusions of this study that starts these purpose are as follows. First, Froebel's educational theory is based on principles and rules which are perceived through the observation of nature, and Froebel's kindergarten method consists of geometrical building gifts and categories of geometrical forms. Second, the characteristics of Froebel's building gifts are mathematical size, proportion, symmetry and the rules of spatial relation. Third, the development to the construction of spatial systems and shape grammars in architecture focus on the vocabularies of architectural elements, and Froebel's building gifts are used for illustration of examples in these formula.

  • This study was performed to search for the geometrical principles in modern architecture and design based on Frobel's educational idea and Kindergarten system. Especially, it studies on the geometrical principles of Froebel's building gifts and it's types, and then illustrates applied examples in modern architecture and design. As the architectural scope, the architecture and design theory of Frank Lloyd Wright and Bauhaus in early 20th century is analyzed. The conclusions of this study that starts these purpose are as follows. First, Froebel's educational theory is based on principles and rules which are perceived through the observation of nature, and Froebel's Kindergarten system consists of geometrical building gifts and categories of geometrical forms. Second, the characteristics of Froebel's building gifts are mathematical size, proportion, symmetry and the rules of spatial relation. Third, the influence of Froebel's kindergarten system on Bauhaus is that it based on the rational rules of $\bigtriangleup\square\bigcirc$ organized by geometrical basic forms as like Froebel's educational idea. And the influence of Froebel's Kindergarten system on Frank Lloyd Wright is that he used unit system, unity of space and structure and modular system as like the Froebel's building gifts.

프랭크 로이드 라이트 건축에 나타난 프뢰벨 시스템의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the application of the Froebel Systems in the F. L. Wright's Architecture)

  • Frank Lloyd Wright(1867-1959) was regarded as the pioneer of the modern architecture in the beginning and transition period of 20th century. His works have the pure shape form which have the deep relationship with the organic architecture. Wright told himself that the Froebel System had an influence on his works a lot. This study have researched about the three dimensional application of the Froebel System in his works with assembling and disassembling. Also the two dimensional application in the diagonal and circular plans are the one of the subjects here. The following conclusions are reached. First, The similar of the Wright's works and the Froebel System was the application of the similar principles rather than the copy of the method, which are the accent of the center, the composition of the part and whole, the understanding of the composition principle through the unit system and the unfolding of the crystal by rotation. Even thought the Wright's works have the triangle, square, hexagonal shape, the way of the expansion from the centered space was same. Also the space formed by the division of the center space, unfolds making the part and whole by overlap and continuation. The 2nd Froebel make space decided by the Net and Crystal Lattices which have the crystal characteristics by the rotation. The new geometric architecture, pinwheel, was created by this method. The application of the Froebel in the Wright's works have the several sets which are the 3th, 4th, 5th, 6th Froebels, 2nd, 7th Froebels and the 3th, 5th, 9th Froebels. The geometrical analysis of the square shape and the diagonal shape of the Wright's works was possible. The unfolding of the centered space can be found in the Guggenheim Museum using the analysis of the circular geometric of the 9th Froebel. The above study proves that the Froebel was not a mere tool for the basic shape training but also the main body of Wright's works which consists of the organic idea and philosophy of the space.
