The Analysis Method of Landscape Fragmentation using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (식생지수에 의한 경관파편화의 해석기법)

  • The various spatial structure of biological habitat has tighten relationship with biodiversity. Due to increasing of population, development of agriculture and urban structure, various change of landscape has became these days. These change of landscape has raised the decrease of habitat and landscape fragmentation. This paper summarizes research to analysis vegetation index according to P/A ratio, Shape Index, and Fractal dimension using Landsat Thematic Mapper(TM). The analysis of landscape fragmentation using NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) 0.5~1 has the most profitable for detection of vegetation fragmentation. The analysis of vegetation index of Seoul and Kyunggi province has also showed that Fractal dimension has the most fragmentation index. In near future, time series analysis is needed for fragmentation of vegetation on the same area, and for various landuse of fragmentation analysis. These researches were carried out for preservation strategy of vegetation and biodiversity.

  • 본 논문에서는 생물의 2차원영상에서 4가지의 특징을 추출한 다음 약품에 대한 생물의 행동 패턴 반응에 대하여 의사결정나무를 적용하여 패턴의 인식 및 분류를 하였다. 생물의 행동패턴을 대변하는 물리적인 특징인 속도, 방향전환 각도, 이동거리에 대하여 각각 중간이상속도비율, FFT(Fast Fourier Transformation), 2차원 히스토그램 면적, 프렉탈, 무게중심을 사용하여 특징을 추출하였다. 이렇게 추출된 4가지의 특징변수들을 사용하여 의사결정나무 모델을 구성한 다음 생물의 약품 첨가에 대한 반응을 분석하였다. 또한 결과에서는 기존의 생물의 행동패턴 구분에 쓰였던 전형적인 기법(conventional methods)보다 본 연구에서 적용한 의사결정나무가 생물의 행동패턴이 가지는 물리적 요소에 대한 독해력을 가짐을 보임으로써 특정환경에서 이동행동에 대한 분석을 용이하게 하고자 하였다.

  • The quality and functionality of machined products is determined by surface finish. The surface roughness is characterized by roughness parameters such as R $_{a}$ and R $_{max}$. While such parameters are useful to define the quality of surface, they are nor sufficiently descriptive characteristics of surface. The fractal dimension which can describe characteristics od surface roughness than conventional roughness parameters has been applied.   • Ever since the nonlinearity of machine tool dynamics was established, researchers attempted to make use of this fact to devise better monitoring, diagnostics and system, which were hitherto based on linear models. Theory of chaos, which explains many nonlinear phenomena comes handy for furthering the analysis using nonlinear model. In this study, measuring system will be constructed using multi-sensor (Tool Dynamometer, Acoustic Emission) in end millingprocess. Then, it will be verified that cutting force is low-dimensional deterministic chaos calculating Lyapunov exponents, Fractal dimension, Embedding dimension. Aen it will be investigated that the relations between characteristic parameter caculated form sensor signal and tool wear.

  • The determination of surface topography is believed to be extremely important in the areas of contact mechanics, adhesion and friction. In order to describe topography of various frictional surface. the wear test was carried out under different experimental conditions in dry friction. And fractal descriptors was applied to frictional surface of laser modified steel with image processing System. These descriptors to analyze surface structure are fractal dimension. Surface fractal dimension can be determined by sum of intensity difference of surface pixel. Topography of frictional surface can be effectively obtained by fractal dimensions.

  • When the high voltage is applied on insulation materials that have voids and impurities inner one, then probability of electrical tree inception is increased at defects. Electrical tree gives a profit to degradation analysis, because it is possible to observe by eyes and provides electrical degradation step. And electrical tree is divided to three types in usual - tree type, bush type and chestnut type tree. But these three types are divided not by method of quantitative analysis but visual and experiential analysis. In this paper, three types of electrical tree were calculated by quantitative analysis using fractal mathematics and classified to fractal dimensions (FD). FD of tree types are 1.1$\sim$1.4, bush types are 1.4$\sim$1.6 and chestnut type trees have above 1.6 FD.

  • In this study, (Ba, Sr)$TiO_3$ (BST) ceramics thin films were prepared by Sol-Gel method. BST solution was made and spin-coated on Pt/$TiO_2$/Si substrate at 4000 [rpm] for 10 seconds. Coated specimens were dried at 150[$^{\circ}C$] for 5 minutes. Coating process was repeated 3 times and then sintered at 750[$^{\circ}C$] for 30 minutes. Structure and electrical characteristics of specimen was analyzed by Fractal Process. Thickness of BST ceramics thin films are about 2800[$\AA$]. Dielectric constant and loss of thin films was little decreased at 1[kHz]~1[MHz]. Dielectric constant and loss to frequency were 250 and 0.02 in BST3. The property of leakage current as the relation between the current and the voltage was that change of the leakage current was stable when the applied voltage was 0~3[V].

  • Conventional fractal image compression methods have many problems in searching time for matching domain block. Proposed method is an improved method of Fisher's Quadtree Decomposition in terms of time, compression ratio, and PSNR. This method determines range block in advance using QR algorithm. First, input image is partitioned to $4{\times}4$ range block and then recomposition is performed from bottom level to specified level. As a result, this proposed method achieves high encoding and decoding speed, high compression ratio, and high PSNR than Fisher's Quadtree Decomposition method.

  • Behavioral sequences of the medaka(Oryzias latipes) were investigated through an image system in response to medaka treated with the insecticide and medaka not treated with the insecticide, diazinon(0.1 mg/1). After much observation, behavioral patterns could be divided into 4 patterns: active smooth, active shaking, inactive smooth, and inactive shaking. These patterns were analyzed by 5 features: speed ratio, x and y axes projection, FFT to angle transition, fractal dimension, and center of mass. Each pattern was classified using decision tree. It provide a natural way to incorporate prior knowledge from human experts in fish behavior, The main focus of this study was to determine whether the decision tree could be useful in interpreting and classifying behavior patterns of the animal.
