In order to attain unique aesthetic value, diversity of meanings of Fusion Design, 'openness', requires meaning interpreting process(communication) which harmonizes and combines new codes suggested by authors(senders) and codes interpreted by public(receivers). For this harmony, we should consider all the art aspects(integration of synchronic and diachronic, anti-rationalism ideology, negative concept) that are bases of creativity of Fusion Aesthetics. Moreover, we can approach open thought system of Fusion Design through theories of Entropy and Rhizome. This point of view which allowed a categorical means of natural science theory to be used in design context changed a methodic or interpretative perception. Not only in art interpreting process does Fusion Design take openness as one of its necessary factors but also in creating process, which enables a work of art to be opened at the maximum. In conclusion, the significance of fusion design is to suggest an ideal model of communication abstracted from open art works.

2000년대에 들어와서 대한민국의 대중음악은 소위 '퓨전(fusion)', '월드뮤직(world music)', '크로스오버(cross over)' 등등의 이름으로 여러 가지의 악기와 장르를 혼합하여 만들어지는 작품이 무수히 많이 쏟아져 나오고 있다. 그중에서도 특히 두드러지게 많이 눈이 띠는 작품은 역시 한국의 국악과 서양의 대중음악과의 혼합 이다. 서로의 음악이 혼합하여 너무 잘 어우러 질수 있다는 발견이라기 보단, 자칫 소재의 빈곤으로 그 음악이 그 음악이라는 현대 대중음악의 한계에서 탈출과, 우리만의 독창성을 표현하고자 하는데서 그 원인을 찾을 수 있겠다. 본 논문은 그러한 맥락에서 탄생한 퓨전 록 밴드 "고스트윈드(GOSTWIND)"의 첫 번째 앨범 <10,000 Years Ago> 의 대표곡 "Fire Bird(불새)"를 연구, 분석하여 한국최초의 국악과 록음악의 혼합을 고찰해본다.

의료기기들 중 기능 영상을 보기 위해 이용되는 PET 장치에서 획득된 결과 영상은 선명하지 않기 때문에, 해부학적 구조와 기능 영상을 동시에 보기 위해서는 선명한 영상을 제공하는 CT 와 PET 장치와 하나로 통합하여 영상을 획득하게 되었다. 그래서 한번의 촬영으로 PET/CT 영상을 얻을 수 있게 된 것이다. 서로 다른 특성을 갖는 이미지를 융합하게 되면 보다 정확한 진단을 내리는데 많은 도움을 준다. 본 논문은 CT 영상에서 폐 영역을 반 자동(Semi-Auto)으로 분리한 후 PET 영상에 자동으로 융합하는 방법을 제안한다. 반 자동 폐 영역 분할을 위해 1 차원 신호 처리 기법과 Seeded Region Growing 기법을 사용한다. 수행된 폐 분리 결과는 몸의 해부학적 구조를 보기 위해 사용되는 CT 영상에서 추출한 폐 영역을 기능을 보기 위한 PET 영상에 퓨전 함으로서 진단 전문가가 보다 정확한 진단을 하는데 도움이 될 것이다. 또한 이러한 기능을 쉽게 구현하고 사용할 수 있도록 시각 프로그래밍 기법을 접목하였다.

Retro, one of these fusion styles, was found in various pattern in fashion. Recent fashion trend shows coexistence with variety which cannot be represent by one or two themes, and introduces various images in a season. Therefore, this study was found three fusion image of Retro pattern which has appeared since 1990; Romantic, Ethnic, and Hippie-look. shown in VOGUE, BAZZAR and etc. 1, Romantic image overcame the exaggerated style of 18th century and expressed in a volume gown, a tight dress of high-waist, and bustier. In addition, beads or sequin became more brilliant and gorgeous which decorated the whole clothing. 2. Ethnic image was expressed with fusion of particular traits from all of the world such as Japan, China, India, South America, Greece, and Africa. 3. Hippie-look image has been shown in slim & long silhouette style, and fusion styles of romantic factors or ethnic factors were also found. Retro as one of the phenomenon of fusion was found in romantic image, ethnic image and hippie-look Image.

In recent years when the importance of public communication is more emphasized, it has to be noticed that we are now living in the public-initiated age of rhetoric resulted from rapid development of broadcast media. Therefore, the purpose of this treatise is to examine the structural characteristics in the fusion design in order to anaylize the rhetorical expressions as symbols of communication. One of those is intertextuality that expresses metaphorically by bleding and borrowing codes and another is hypertextual space where various texts twines around each other making brand-new and diverse organizations, as the combined allegory with a number of hidden expression. The fusion design may be understood as the Intention to attract gaze to visual messages and as the rhetorical expressions based on compounding aesthetic codes by producing new cultural meanings. If fusion, a phenomenon which represents the 21st century, not a passing fad of cultural mixture, is ready to take the initiative, the design has to be groped for that creates a synergy effect.
