Improvement of detecting speed of small target using SAD algorithm (SAD 알고리즘을 이용한 소형표적 검출속도 개선)

  • We propose a method for improving detection speed of small target detection system using SAD algorithm. First, the proposed method deletes clutters using a median filter. Next, it does closing and opening operation using various size of structure elements, and extracts candidate pixels for a target with subtraction operation between the results of closing and opening operation. It finally detects a small target using a gaussian distance function from the candidate pixels. To improve detection speed, it detects a target performing SAD algorithm only for the predicted target areas for next every 7 frames. The proposed method not only enables a real time process because it considers only predicted area but also shows detecting rate of 97%.

  • 본 논문에서는 적외선 스테레오 카메라를 이용하여 고속으로 날아가는 표적의 좌표들을 측정하고 회귀분석을 통한 오차특성을 이용하여 추정하는 시스템을 제안한다. 표적과 배경의 온도차이로 표적 영역을 검출하고 적외선 스테레오 카메라 정합과 카메라 파라미터를 이용하여 표적의 좌표를 추정한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 적외선 스테레오 카메라 시스템을 검증하기 위해 3차원 궤적(x,y,z) 측정기로 표적의 속도와 거리를 측정하여 표적 궤도를 예측하고, 여러 차례 실험한 비디오 데이터로부터 스테레오 정합을 이용하여 z, x축의 거리(좌표)들을 구하고 회귀 분석(regression analysis)을 사용하여 최소 자승법(Least squares method)으로 표적의 궤적들을 비교하였다. 적외선 스테레오 정합 시스템에 오차특성을 적용하여 표적의 좌표를 보정할 수 있었다. 향후 다양한 표적들의 오차를 모델화하여 고속표적들의 좌표 측정을 향상 시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Target Scattering Echo Simulation for Active Sonar System in the Geometric Optics Region (기하광학영역에서의 능동소나 표적신호합성)

  • Since the new field information of target signal is important in the development and verification of active sonar system, experimental method and simulation technique are widely used in order to analyze the detail characteristics of target scattered echoes. Therefore, in this paper, the scale target experiment is performed to develope and Improve the target signal simulation model. Since the experimental results show that the specular reflection is the major component among scattering mechanisms, the target signal simulation model based on the Geometric Optics Theory (GOT) is developed. Complex target is separated into simple shapes, known as canonical shape. The contribution from individual canonical shapes are summed with proper phase and amplitude to produce the target strength of the whole complex body. Simulated target signal is compared with the experimental results and discussed.

  • Target signal feature parameters are very important to classify target by active sonar. Two highly correlated broad band pulses separated by time T have a time separation pitch(TSP) of 1/T Hz which is equal to the trough-to-trough or peak-to-peak spacing of its spectrum. In this study, TSP informations which represent feature of each target signal were effectively extracted by the FFT. The extracted TSP feature parameters were also applied to the pattern recognition algorithm to classify target and to analyze their properties.

  • In IRST(infrared search and track) system, the small target detection is very difficult because the IR(infrared) image have various clutter and sensor noise. The noise and clutter similar to the target intensity value produce many false alarms. In this paper. We propose the adaptive detection method which obtains optimal target detection using the image intensity information and the prior information of target. In order to enhance the target, we apply the human visual system. we determine the adaptive threshold value using image intensity and distance measure in target enhancement image. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can efficiently extract target region in various IR images.

  • In order to effectively process target recognition using radar, accurate signal information for the target is required. However, such a target signal is usually mixed with noise, and this part of the study is continuously carried out. Especially, image processing, target signal processing and target recognition for the target are examples. Since the field of target recognition is important from a military point of view, this paper carried out research on target recognition of aircraft using a tree-structured fuzzy neural networks. Fuzzy neural networks are learned by using reflected signal data for an aircraft to optimize the model, and then test data for the target are used for the optimized model to perform an experiment on target recognition. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the simulation results.

  • When a active sonar signal is transmitted and returned back from a target, it has been distorted by various properties of acoustic channel such as multipath arrivals. And signals have been appeared to be different form by target position and attitude. Therefore, we simulated the target echo signal using 3 dimensional target model include reflects target features. In this paper, we develop components form of a simulated target model is made up equally spaced highlight points, and each part of the target consists of shape function. We can simulate a target echo signal and Target strength (TS) according to wave incident angle. To verify, we made small scale target in kit form and we had got underwater target signal for comparing simulation result in water tank.

A Study on Clutter Rejection using PCA and Stochastic features of Edge Image (주성분 분석법 및 외곽선 영상의 통계적 특성을 이용한 클러터 제거기법 연구)

  • Automatic Target Detection (ATD) systems that use forward-looking infrared (FLIR) consists of three stages. preprocessing, detection, and clutter rejection. All potential targets are extracted in preprocessing and detection stages. But, this results in a high false alarm rates. To reduce false alarm rates of ATD system, true targets are extracted in the clutter rejection stage. This paper focuses on clutter rejection stage. This paper presents a new clutter rejection technique using PCA features and stochastic features of clutters and targets. PCA features are obtained from Euclidian distances using which potential targets are projected to reduced eigenspace selected from target eigenvectors. CV is used for calculating stochastic features of edges in targets and clutters images. To distinguish between target and clutter, LDA (Linear Discriminant Analysis) is applied. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm accurately classify clutters with a low false rate compared to PCA method or CV method

Target Localization Using Geometry of Detected Sensors in Distributed Sensor Network (분산센서망에서 표적을 탐지한 센서의 기하학적 구조를 이용한 표적위치 추정)

  • In active sonar field, a target detection and localization based on a distributed sensor network has been much studied for the underwater surveillance of the coast. Zhou et al. proposed a target localization method utilizing the positions of target-detected sensors in distributed sensor network which consists of detection-only sensors. In contrast with a conventional method, Zhou's method dose not require to estimate the propagation model parameters of detection signal. Also it needs the lower computational complexity, and to transmit less data between network nodes. However, it has large target localization error. So it has been modified for reducing localization error by Ryu. Modified Zhou's method has better estimation performance than Zhou's method, but still relatively large estimation error. In this paper, a target localization method based on modified Zhou's method is proposed for reducing the localization error. The proposed method utilizes the geometry of the positions of target-detected sensors and a line that represents the bearing of target, a line can be found by modified Zhou's method. This paper shows that the proposed method has better target position estimation performance than Zhou's and modified Zhou's method by computer simulations.

$^{192}$Ir 선원의$\gamma$선 자기흡수효과 측정

  • 산업용 및 의료용으로 사용되는 $^{192}$ Ir 방사선원에 대한 $\psi$선 자기흡수효과인자를 실험을 통하여 구하였다. 이를 위하여 3 mm $\psi$ x 3 mm t, 2.5 mm $\psi$ x 2.5 mm t, 2 mm $\psi$ x 2 mm Ir의 원주형 Ir 표적과 3 mm $\psi$ x 0.25 mm t, 3 mm $\psi$ x 0.1 mm t의 원판형 Ir 표적을 하나로의 PTS(Pneumatic Transport System)조사공에서 중성자 조사하였다. 이온전리함을 사용하여 각 Ir 표적의 방사능을 측정하고 계산에 의해서 구한 생성방사능 값과의 비를 구하는 방법으로 $^{192}$ Ir의 ${\gamma}$선 자기흡수효과인자를 구하였다. 이 값들은 원주형 표적에 대하여 각각 0.614, 0.687, 0.704 였고 원판형 표적에 대하여 각각 0.827, 0.875 였다. 원주형 Ir 표적내부의 중성자 자기흡수효과의 정도를 알아보기 위하여 2.5 mm $\psi$ x 0.25 mm t Ir 표적 10장을 포개어 중성자 방사화시킨 후 각 표적의 방사능을 측정한 결과 가장 바깥쪽 표적의 방사능이 중심부에 위치한 표적보다 약 2배정도 방사화가 많이 일어남을 알 수 있었다. 이번에 구한 ${\gamma}$선 자기흡수효과인자는 향후 산업용 및 의료용으로 사용되는 $^{192}$ Ir 방사선원의 사용자에게 제공되는 최종방사능을 평가하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
