A study of ion distribution according to mask dimensions and annealing conditions (마스크 dimensions와 열처리 조건에 따른 이온의 분포에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 마스크의 폭을 각각 0.3.mu.m , 0.1.mu.m으로 설정하여 boron이 도핑된 실리콘 기판 위에 arsenic을 주입 시켰을때, 열처리 전과 각각 inert, dry, wet 산화분위기에서 열처리 한 후의 도핑 농도 프로파일과 수직 깊이와 측면으로의 퍼짐을 시뮬레이션하여 2차원적으로 관찰하였다. 마스크 폭을 축소시킴으로 인해 이온의 입사 방향으로 더 깊이 침투됨이 관찰되었으며, 더욱이 측면으로도 퍼짐이 관찰되었다. 열처리 전과 열처리 후의 비교에서도 농도프로파일이 보다 더 기판 내에서 넓게 분포됨이 관찰되었다.

A Study on Width Spread in 2-High Rolling of Rectangular Bars (각재의 냉간 2단 압연에 있어서의 폭 증가율에 관한 연구)

  • It was found that the effect of the friction between the roll and the workpiece on the spread ratio in flat rolling processes varies with the width-to-height ratio and the reduction in height by Tozawa, Oh and kobayashi numerically. In the present study, the barrelling profile accompanying the width spread was predicted by using the energy method proposed by Kato, which is known to be one of the most advanced method for the three dimensional analysis of the rolling process. The modified velocity field was applied to compute the width spread and the result was verified by experiments. the analysis by the energy method gave the result that the spread ratio increases with the friction factor when the width-to-height ratio is 1 and decreases when the ratio is larger then 2, being consistent with the results of Tozawa and Oh. Nevertheless the cold rolling experiment for pure aluminium showed that the spread ratio decreases with the increasing friction factor irrespective of the width-to-hight ratio.

Cooking Quality of Barley as Influenced by Storage Period and Polishing Degree (보리의 저장기간과 도정도에 따른 취급특성 변이)

  • The objective of this research was to determine the effect of storage period on the cooking qualities of barley. The expansion rate and the water absorption rate of cooked barley were decreased with the increase of polishing degree. When the barley having the same degree of polishing were cooked for 50 minutes, both rates were showed negative correlation with the storage time by showing the lower values in the barley having longer storage periods. Whiteness of cooked barley did not showed any clear correlation with the storage period. The texture of cooked barley and the amylogram properties also did not showed any correlation with the storage period due to the effects of other factors such as harvesting stage and cultivating conditions.

  • Thickness control of hot-rolled strips has become an important issue in recent years because of the need for improving the quality of the hot-rolled strip. In this study, a modifying method of rolling force set-up with consideration of spread was developed to improve the thickness uniformity at the finishing rolling units in hot rolling. Through the analysis of real production data it was found that the accuracy of the rolling force determined from the finishing mill set-up (FSU) model dominantly governed the thickness uniformity in rolled plates at the front. Based on this analysis , several examples were selected to calculate the spread of rolled plate using three dimensional rigid thermo-viscoplastic finite element program. FE analysis results were used to train the neural network system that can predict the spread hot-rolled plate and the rolling force was modified based on the predicted value of spread. The modified rolling forces were closer to the measured rolling force so it can be expected that the accuracy of thickness uniformity of hot-rolled plate will be improved.

  • In the current study, we present a new model for predicting width spread of a slab with a dog-bone shaped cross section during rolling in the roughing train of a hot strip mill. The approach is based on the extremum principle for a rigid plastic material and a three dimensional admissible velocity field. The upper bound theorem is used for calculating the width spread of the slab. The prediction accuracy of the proposed model is examined through comparison with the predictions from 3-D finite element (FE) process simulations.

  • Precision control of the slab is crucial for product quality and production economy in hot strip mills. The current study presents a new model for predicting width spread of a slab with a rectangular cross section during roughing. The model is developed on the basis of the extremum principle for a rigid plastic material and a three dimensional admissible velocity field. This model incorporates the effect of process variables such as the shape factor and the ratio of width to thickness. We compare the results of this model to 3-D finite element (FE) process simulations and also to results from a previous study.

  • This study is to figure out the speed of soil diffusion and shapes as well when landslide occurred. It was measured the speed and shapes of soil diffusion using installed indoor-simulation of a land slide. Standard sand was used to measure it and this measurement is following the moisture content of standard sand. The result of this experiment follows the moisture content; as the moisture content goes up, the area and speed of soil diffusion goes faster as well. As the average of records by the moisture content was analyzed, the area and speed of land slide are increased proportionally. The shape of diffusion is formed as fanwise. It depends on the moisture content as above; the speed was fast when the moisture content is high, and it was getting narrower and longer as the speed of diffusion was faster.

  • Inserting a $SiO_2$ layer underneath the p-pad electrode as the current blocking layer (CBL) structure and extending p-metal finger patterns, the GaN LEDs using an indium-tin-oxide (ITO) layer show the improved light output intensity, resulting from better current spreading and reduced light loss on the surface of p-pad metal. The LEDs with an oxide layer of $100{\mu}m$-pad-width and $6{\mu}m$-finger-width have better light output intensities than those with an oxide layer of $105{\mu}m$-pad-width and $12{\mu}m$-finger-width. Using the ATLAS device simulator from Silvaco Corporation, the current density distributions on the active layer in CBL LEDs have been investigated.

  • The aim of the current study was to develop an advanced prediction model for the slab width spread during hot rough rolling. Rough rolling consists of both vertical rolling using a set of profiled edger rolls and horizontal rolling using a set of plain work rolls. FE-simulations were performed to investigate the influences of process variables such as initial slab width, initial thickness, sizing draft, edger roll draft and work roll draft on the final slab width variation. From a statistical analysis of the simulation results, an advanced model, which can predict the slab width spread during the edger rolling and horizontal rolling, was developed. The experimental hot rolling trials showed that the newly developed model provided fairly accurate predictions on the slab width spread during hot rough rolling process using a profiled edger rolls.

  • The behavior and mixing process of the forced plume are studied in the hydraulic laboratory. The dilution rate of discharged waste water from the port in various hydraulic condition was analized. The effect of densimetric Froude number and the discharge type on the dilution rate are discussed: In the vertical discharge, the forced plume of small densimetric Froude number mixes more actively than that of the large one. In the horizontal discharge, forced plume of large densimetric Froude number dilutes more rapidly than that of the small one. The mixing takes place more vigorously in the horizontal discharge than in the vertical one. The multi-port diffuser is more effective for the waste water discharge system than the single port diffuser in the tidal swinging coastal sea.
