Recently, some methods of converging heterogeneous fire sensor data have been proposed for effective fire detection, but the rule-based methods have low adaptability and accuracy, and the fuzzy inference methods suffer from detection speed and accuracy by lack of consideration for images. In addition, a few image-based deep learning methods were researched, but it was too difficult to rapidly recognize the fire event in absence of cameras or out of scope of a camera in practical situations. In this paper, we propose a novel fire detection system combining a deep learning algorithm based on CNN and fuzzy inference engine based on heterogeneous fire sensor data including temperature, humidity, gas, and smoke density. we show it is possible for the proposed system to rapidly detect fire by utilizing images and to decide fire in a reliable way by utilizing multi-sensor data. Also, we apply distributed computing architecture to fire detection algorithm in order to avoid concentration of computing power on a server and to enhance scalability as a result. Finally, we prove the performance of the system through two experiments by means of NIST's fire dynamics simulator in both cases of an explosively spreading fire and a gradually growing fire.

This study aimed to improve the reliability of the assurance pressure of a gun barrel due to the difference between the US Standard and Korean Standard. In addition, the reliability was found to differ according to the maximum pressure of the Ammunition, so restrictions are expected. During the development of the new bullet, the maximum pressure of the bullet was approximately 3,000 psi higher than the assurance pressure of the gun barrel. To solve this problem, the reliability of the cannon was analyzed when the assurance pressure of the gun barrel increased. First of all, the technical data from overseas were reviewed to check for cases of increased assurance pressure, and tests were performed to determine if it could withstand high pressure through a verification firing test. Finally, the simulation analyzed the stability of the recoil buffer. The study found no abnormal results in all items, suggesting that an increase in the assurance pressure for a gun barrel was possible. This study is expected to be used as basic data for future reliability studies of similar equipment.

To define an interface in a conventional level-set method, an analytical function must be revealed for an interfacial geometry. However, it is not always possible to define a functional form of level sets when interfaces become complex in a Cartesian coordinate system. To overcome this difficulty, we have developed a new level-set formalism that discriminates the interior from the exterior of a CAD modeled interface by parameterizing the stereolithography (STL) file format. The work outlined here confirms the accuracy and scalability of the hydrodynamic reactive solver that utilizes the new level set concept through a series of tests. In particular, the complex interaction between shock and geometrical confinements towards deflagration-to-detonation transition is numerically investigated. Also, a process of flame spreading and damages caused by point source detonation in a real-sized plant facility have been simulated to confirm the validity of the new method built for reactive hydrodynamic simulation in any complex three-dimensional geometries.
In this paper, the risk of damages to humans and properties due to fire explosions in gasoline storage tanks is identified, and the effects of radiant heat on adjacent tanks are evaluated to present the necessary area to secure safety. A simulation was conducted to evaluate the effect of radiant heat (Maximum emission) on adjacent tanks in an oil storage tank fire due to environmental conditions (Wind speed and temperature) in the Northern Gyeonggi Province. The result indicated that the radiant heat released in the fire of an oil storage tank was increased by approximately 1.9 times by the maximum wind speed and the difference occurred in the range of 700~800 kW by the maximum temperature. If a storage tank fire occurs, securing approximately 34.4 m of holding area is necessary. In the future, evaluating the radiant heat emitted by the fire of gasoline storage tanks will be required by applying various environmental conditions, and through this, research on specific and quantitative holding area is required.

In the unmanned vehicle industry, the market is exploding due to the rapid development of public and private demands along with the technological development of the 4th Industrial Revolution. In addition, unmanned mobiles are being used for communication services. In this paper, we analyzed the communication performance of unmanned aerial vehicle according to the characteristics of Doppler frequency. The Doppler frequency was calculated using the geometric model of the unmanned aerial vehicle, and the Doppler frequency of 10km, 30km, 300km, 1000km per hour and the BER performance by AWGN were measured by considering the unmanned high speed unmanned vehicle based on the position of the controller. The Doppler frequency model uses a Dent model and adds additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) to check the bit errors of the transmitter and receiver. Low speed unmanned vehicles generally exhibited a BER performance of 0.2, while high speed unmanned vehicles generally exhibited a BER performance of 0.06. As the frequency band increases at the same speed, the BER performance increases, and when the speed increases in the same frequency band, the BER performance decreases. This is confirmed by the simulation results to predict theoretically predictable BER performance. In the frequency bands of 2.6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 28 GHz, the BER characteristics by Doppler frequency and the BER characteristics by controller function are verified. effect was confirmed.

The dispersion pattern of a near miss neutralizer has a great effect on the disablement of a threatening projectile. This study numerically investigated the dispersion pattern of cylindrical tungsten impactors by an explosion in the near miss neutralizer. The mass and shape of the explosive were considered as influencing factors on the dispersion pattern. The explosives were set using two shape models: a parallel shape with the same upper and lower thicknesses and a tapered shape with different upper and lower thicknesses. In the simulation results, the dispersed impactors formed a ring-shaped pattern on a two-dimensional plane in an arbitrary space. In addition, the fire net area increased with the explosive mass when the explosive shapes were identical. In particular, the tapered shape explosive formed a larger fire net area than the parallel shape explosive. Based on the analysis of the fire net area along with the dispersion density, both the explosive mass and shape representing the physical characteristics should be considered for controlling the dispersion pattern of impactors in a near miss neutralizer.

Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) are used in diverse applications. In general, sensor nodes that are easily deployed on specific areas have many resource constrains such as battery power, memory sizes, MCUs, RFs and so on. Hence, first of all, the efficient energy consumption is strongly required in WSNs. In terms of event states, event-driven deliverly model (i.e. surveillance and reconnaissance applications) has several characteristics. On the basis of such a model, clustering algorithms can be mostly used to manage sensor nodes' energy efficiently owing to the advantages of data aggregations. Since a specific node collects packets from its child nodes in a network topology and aggregates them into one packet to relay them once, amount of transmitted packets to a sink node can be reduced. However, most clustering algorithms have been designed without considering can be reduced. However, most clustering algorithms have been designed without considering characteristics of event-driven deliverly model, which results in some problems. In this paper, we propose enhanced clustering algorithms regarding with both targets' movement and energy efficiency in order for applications of surveillance and reconnaissance. These algorithms form some clusters to contend locally between nodes, which have already detected certain targets, by using a method which called CHEW (Cluster Head Election Window). Therefore, our proposed algorithms enable to reduce not only the cost of cluster maintenance, but also energy consumption. In conclusion, we analyze traces of the clusters' movements according to targets' locations, evaluate the traces' results and we compare our algorithms with others through simulations. Finally, we verify our algorithms use power energy efficiently.
The fire took place in the synthetic heat transfer fluid boiler. This study uses simulation to investigate the first, second and third passes and the temperature in the fire burner. The boiler's internal fluid is more or less unsteady due to the out of order inverter. As the operation continues, the flame's flow and speed are unsteady. The synthetic heat transfer fluid leak spouted about 120 kg/min in the form of vapor in the early period of the fire. The flame extended to the second and third passes. The highest temperature of the second and third pass is $1059^{\circ}C$ and $1007^{\circ}C$, respectively. The simulation shows that the temperature is $767^{\circ}C$ in the low part of the third pass. The synthetic heat transfer fluid spouted through the cracked part of the fire box in the first pass and accumulated on the turn table. The temperature rises to $183^{\circ}C$ in the low part of the burner. Therefore, it is expected that the temperature of the interior of the fire box is above $1200^{\circ}C$. The temperature of the burner rises to a maximum level several times in a short period. On account of that, several explosions occur in the fire burner.

Korea has been known as volcanic disaster free area. However, recent surveying result shows that Baekdu mountain located in northernmost in the Korean peninsula is not a dormant volcano anymore. When Baekdu mountain is erupting, various damages due to the volcanic ash are expected in South Korea area. Especially, volcanic ash in the air may cause big aviation accident because it can hurt engine or gauges in the airplane. Therefore, it is a crucial issue to interrupt airplane navigation, whose route is overlapped with volcanic ash, after predicting three dimensional dispersion of volcanic ash. In this paper, we deals with 3D visualization techniques for volcanic ash dispersion prediction results. First, we introduce the data acquisition of the volcanic ash dispersion prediction. Dispersion prediction data is obtained from Fall3D model, which is volcanic ash dispersion simulation program. Next, three 3D visualization techniques for volcanic ash dispersion prediction are proposed. Firstly proposed technique is so called 'Cube in the Air', which locates the semitransparent cubes having different color depends on its particle concentration. Second technique is a 'Cube in the Cube' which divide the cube in proportion to particle concentration and locates the small cubes. Last technique is 'Semitransparent Volcanic Ash Plane', which laminates the layer, whose grids present the particle concentration, and apply the semitransparent effect. Based on the proposed techniques, the user could 3D visualize the volcanic ash dispersion prediction results upon his own purposes.
Over the past decade, the improvement of communications technologies and the rapid spread of www (World Wide Web) have brought on the exponential growth of users using Internet and real time multimedia multicast services like video conferencing, tele-immersive virtual reality, and Internet games. The dense-wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) networks have been widely accepted as a promising approach to meet the ever-increasing bandwidth demands of Internet users, especially in next generation Internet backbone networks for nation-wide or global coverage. A major challenge in the next generation Internet backbone networks based on DWDM technologies is the resolution of the multicasting RWA (Routing and Wavelength Assignment) problem; given a set of wavelengths in the DWDM network, we set up light-paths by routing and assigning a wavelength for each connection so that the multicast connections are set-upped as many as possible. Finding such optimal multicast connections has been proven to be Non-deterministic Polynomial-time-complete. In this paper, we suggest a new heuristic multicast routing and wavelength assignment method for multicast sessions called DVS-PMIPMR (Differentiated Virtual Source-based Priority Minimum Interference Path Multicast Routing algorithm). We measured the performance of the proposed algorithm in terms of number of wavelength and wavelength channel. The simulation results demonstrate that DVS-PMIPMR algorithm is superior to previous multicast routing algorithms.
