  • External morphology characteristics of the greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporarium were investigated by scanning electron microscopy. The antennae of the greenhouse whitefly was 6 segments. rod-shape, and 0.3mm length. On the 6th segment, there were many sensilla for searching host-plant as olfactory receptor. The mouthpart of the greenhouse whitefly was a piercing-sucing type, then its stylet was well developed for piercing plant leaf tissue. Claw of the foreleg was a 3-way hook shape including paranychium for attaching plant surface to pierce and lay egg.

  • Thermal batteries are also called molten-salt batteries as the electrolyte is mainly composed of molten salt. The molten-salt electrolyte is a solid that does not conduct electricity at room temperature, but when it is melted by a pyrotechnic heat source, it becomes an excellent ionic conductor. Thermal batteries are a kind of pyrotechnic battery because they operate only when the solid electrolyte is melted by the heat energy provided by pyrotechnic materials. Pyrotechnic components used in a thermal battery include heat sources, fuse strips, and an igniter. The reliability of these pyrotechnic components critically affects the reliability and performance of the battery that must supply electricity stably to guided munitions even under extreme environmental conditions. Different igniter types offer different advantages: notch-type igniters offer improved ignition probability, whereas film-type igniters offer improved safety. The addition of metal oxides to the heat paper could improve the burn rate, and the ignition reliability could be greatly improved by using it with a flame igniter at the same time. Using a two-step reduction process, high-purity Fe particles in coral form can be safely obtained.

  • This paper details the result of flight experiment that examines performance of roll angle estimation algorithm of slowly rolling munition taking time delay of measurement into account when measurement comes in delayed fashion. As the measurement is passed through low pass filter for numerical stabilization and de-noising purpose which induces time delay, we design augmented state Kalman filter that incorporates distribution models of stochastic delay over time. Flight experiment was conducted to verify the algorithm at around 250m high AGL(Above Ground Level) conveying velocity of 28m/s from fixed-wing mother plane to the munition. Munition was made spun with respect to its roll axis using internal reaction wheel afterward. Numerical comparison of proposing method's roll estimation performance with that of commercial aerospace graded GPS/INS shows that proposed filter design can effectively compensate time delay of measurement.

  • In order for the military to review the introduction of virtual reality technology into various education and training systems and fully utilize it, it is important to reflect the characteristics of the technology and education system and to accurately identify and selectively apply the characteristics of commercialization. In this study, the evaluation criteria were selected through the Analitic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for factors to be considered when commercializing a virtual reality-based education and training system, and the priorities of the projects were determined. Based on previous studies, an initial AHP model was constructed and the relative importance of six factors, including reality, was analyzed as the level 1 evaluation criteria. Next, for Level 2, each evaluation criterion was evaluated to confirm the importance of each of the 11 tasks in the six evaluation criteria, and priorities were selected for each task. As a result of the analysis, level 1 showed that reality and ripple had higher importance than other factors. As a result of evaluating the final relative importance, the priority was shown in the order of ① flight training, ② disaster training, ③ shooting Training, and ④ driving a vehicle. Based on the relative priorities determined in Levels 1 and 2 of the model presented in this study, the importance of each project necessary for final decision-making of the research priorities for the defense virtual reality project was presented. It is expected that this study can be used as a reference material for prioritizing the commercialization of education and training systems in the defense sector.
