The effects of filling temperatures of broth and degassing method on the residual oxygen content and gas composition in the pouch and physical strength of packaging material for Samgyetang depending on the contamination of broth on the sealing layer and sterilization process were investigated. The residual oxygen content in the broth and the oxygen proportion in the headspace of package were decreased with the increase of broth temperature at filling into the pouch from 50 to 100. When the products were packaged as air-contained (Air), manually squeezed the upper side of package out to minimize the headspace (Degas) and flushed with nitrogen gas ($N_2$-Flushing) while maintaining the broth temperatures of Samgyetang at 50 or 85. Paper packs, glass bottles, metal cans, and plastic materials are classified according to packaging material recycling groups that are Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). In the case of waste paper pack, the compressed cartons are dissociated to separate polyethylene films and other foreign substance, and then these are washed, pulverized and dried to produce toilet paper. Glass bottle for recycling is provided to the bottle manufacturers after the process of collecting the waste glass bottle, removing the foreign substance, sorting by color, crushing, raw materializing process. Waste glass recycling technology of Korea is largely manual, except for removal of metal components and low specific gravity materials. Metal can is classified into iron and aluminum cans through an automatic sorting machine, compressed, and reproduced as iron and aluminum through a blast furnace. In the case of composite plastic material, the selected compressed product is crushed and then recycled through melt molding and refined products are produced through solid fuel manufacturing steps through emulsification and compression molding through pyrolysis. In the recycling process of paper packs, glass bottles, metal cans, and plastic materials, the influx of recycled materials and other substances interferes with the recycling process and increases the recycling cost and time. Therefore, the government needs to improve the legal system which is necessary to use materials and structure that are easy to recycle from the design stage of products or packaging materials.

Bell pepper was packed with several plastic films, and investigated the quality Characteristics such as gas composition, weight loss, microbial load, soluble solid content, ascorbic acid and color during storage at 10$^{\circ}C$. Cast polypropylene (CPP), low density Polyethylene (LDPE), Polyolefin (MPD, PD961) and linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) were used for this purpose. Oxygen concentration inside packages generally showed a 10∼14% after 1∼2 weeks, but package with CPP maintained above 15％ throughout the storage. Carbon dioxide concentration of CPP was above 2%, but other treatments showed below 2%. Weight loss of all treatments was below 3.0% after 5 weeks. Total microbial count showed a similar pattern compared to yeast and mold, and CPP maintained the highest microbial load after 3 weeks. Yellowness (b value) of bell pepper was generally increased throughout the storage, and MPD and PD961 were higher than other treatments.

환경부는 '제품의 포장재질·포장방법에 관한 기준 등에 관한 규칙'(약칭 : 제품포장규칙) 일부개정령을 9월 10일 공포했다. 이번 개정령은 제품의 포장재질·포장방법에 관한 기준 등을 지켜야 하는 제조자 등이 이를 위반한 것으로 인정되는 경우, 제품의 포장방법과 포장재의 재질에 관한 검사를 신속하게 받을 수 있도록 해당 검사를 수행하는 전문기관에 한국환경산업기술원을 추가하는 것을 주요 내용으로 하고 있다. 다음에 그 상세내용을 살펴보도록 한다.

The carton for liquid products are divided into 'gable top carton' and 'aseptic carton'. Currently, these packages are being recycled in the toilet tissue manufacturing process. The recycling of the carton aluminium laminate is the most important problem facing the recycling procedure of the carton packages due to the reduction in quality of recycled materials. The polymer structure with synthetic resins being used mainly in beverage packaging is also one of the important factors for the procedure for its recycling. The objective of this study was to investigate the package material and structure of the carton for liquid products through marketing research and suggest the supplementation in the work processes of production, use, and recycling. The results represent to improve the recycling profit and the quality of recycled materials when a laminated aluminium of carton for liquid products is replaced to the transparent polymer film. The improvement of the sorting and recycling process may help their recycling efficiencies. In addition, the limited use of synthetic resin molded packaging and increase of wood-pulp collection rate will provide the improvement of the recycling profit and the quality of recycled materials.
