Development of An Anti-Diabetic Functional Drink (I) - Screening of the Manufacturing of Mulberry Leaf Extract - (상엽 추출물을 이용한 항당뇨 음료의 개발 (I) - 상엽 추출물의 제제화 탐색 -)

  • Mulberry leaves are believed to be a potent inhibitor of intestinal $\alpha$-glycosidase and the digestion of sucrose in the small intestine. Mulberry leaves are also blown to help prevent the postprandial hyperglycemia. The objective of this study was to elucidate the functionality and anti-hyperglycemic effect of mulberry leaves, and to develop a functional drink using mulberry leaf, silk peptide and oriental medicine. Several mixtures of mulberry lear extract silk peptide and oriental medicine were made for the purpose of manufacture and formulation of products. These mixtures were tested to check the $\alpha$-glycosidase inhibition effect to find the best formula. The optimum conditions for a mulberry leaf hot water extract were that the size of leaf was under 3mm, the amount of leaf needed 50~100 g/L, extraction temperature 9$0^{\circ}C$ and extraction time 2 hr. The yield of extraction was 20~25%. The anti-hyperglycemic effect of mulberry leaves was at maximum when the concentrations of mulberry leaf extract and silk peptide were 1% and 0.1%, respectively.

Adsorption and Thermostability of Antimicrobial Agents on Synthetic Ceramic Powder (합성 세라믹분말에 대한 항균성물질의 흡착 및 내열성)

  • The adsorption of the antimicrobial agents and their heat-resistance were investigated for the packaging film manufacture, wherein, the antimicrobial agents were adsorbed on a ceramic component. The naturally sourced antimicrobial agents were produced by methylotropic actinomycetes strains MO-16 and MO-17, extracted with ethylacetate. Antimicrobial action was stable to $121^{\circ}C$ and 1 atm. for 30 min., showing wide-ranging activity to the Gram(+) and the Gram(-) bacteria. Antimicrobial agents, adsorbed on ceramic Ce-1, retained activity to the Gram(+) and the Gram(-) species at $105^{\circ}C$ and $230^{\circ}C$ heat treatment, and methanol extracted antimicrobial agents from Ce-1 treated at $230^{\circ}C$ for 30min., retained activity to Gram(+) bacteria. In the presence of oxygen during the heat treatment process, antimicrobial agents adsorbed on ceramic Ce-1 showed antimicrobial activity to Gram(+) and the Gram(-) bacteria.

  • In order to find methods to encourage active private participation for efficient road maintenance, this study examined the status of the road improvement project and the development of the private capital utilization improvement project. Based on this, the study conducted a case study and a financial feasibility study that applied the new business method and selected the applicable business method. As a result, it is analyzed that the method of using Crowd Funding is more advantageous than the private scheme of the private capital utilization improvement project. This is because it will be highly effective in raising funds from users of highway users, especially users of improvement projects. In addition, it can also mean that the road users who suffer from inconvenience due to the construction can return the toll profit of road construction to the user.

  • In order that a company may reduce expense, according to companies' income statement, the largest amount of money is set to total sales amount, and the next is the sales cost. The method of reducing the sales cost is the common and it is important to take down a unit price at the time of purchase, or to reduce inventory cost. In this research, the cost reduction model for logistics cost reduction is built using the real data of P company, and in order to verify the validity of a model, logistics cost is calculated through a simulation. A real logistics cost is compared with the logistics cost through logistics route rearrange of the proposal model. It will become an opportunity which analyzes the logistics expense of P company through this research, and can be solved in search of the problem of logistics system.

  • Recently gene fabrication foodstuffs, remained chemicals and heavy metal on the agricultural product gets prominent, consciousness of consumers is getting higher regarding safety and quality problems of consumer products. A measurement should be done immediately because the research concerned about this has not been made compared to the foreign countries such as Europe, United States, Japan and so on has quickly accepted production record system. In this paper, we designed all the procedures among the production, postharvest, packing, storing should be done without any kinds of harm that could be happened from the farm to the dinner tables of each family as possible as we can. And also we defined the data system in accordance with the domestic agricultural system and realized the production trace system on the base of Good Agriculture Practices(GAPs) in order to let the consumers confirm the procedures themselves.

Chemical Properties of Korean Orchard Soils in Main Apple, Pear, Graph and Peach Producing Area (우리나라 사과, 배, 포도 및 복숭아 주산지 토양의 화학적 특성)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the chemical properties of orchard soils through which their soil fertilities were discriminated. Total 877 soil samples in major orchard area, i.e. from 239 apple, 369 pear, 168 grape, 101 peach orchards, were examed on the basis of temporary optimal range for each component. The levels of fertility were ranged from 3.0 to 65.2% compared to optimum fertility, suggesting that almost orchard soils contained inadequately soil components. The contents of chemical component have a tendency to decrease with soil depth gradually from surface to subsoil. This meaned that the contents of various components in subsoil could be estimated on the basis of analysis of surface soil, using the linearly fitted equations of the relationship between component in subsoil and in surface at least to which fertility were samely managed. Furthermore, even when only the content of components in 20cm depth surface soil was analyzed, it could be determined whether the amount of each component in the surface soil is surplus or deficient.

  • Intrusive Vehicle Detectors have excellent detection performance compared to other types of detector, but disadvantages of high installation and maintenance costs, short life time due to greater damage to roads and paving materials. In contrast, Non-Intrusive Vehicle Detectors attached to the stationary pole have advantages because it does not damage the road surface and easy and less expensive to maintain. Despite these advantages, Non-Intrusive type detectors are still not been widely used in traffic signal control systems because of the low detection performance. In this study, a FMCW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar Vehicle Detector was designed as an alternative detector for the signalized intersection, and the performance evaluation was presented by purpose applicability.

  • 저영향개발(LID, Low Impact Development)은 물순환체계 개선을 위해 녹색 공간의 확보, 자연형 공간 조성, 자연상태의 수문순환 기능의 유지 기법 등을 활용한 개발 대상지에서의 강우유출 및 비점오염원의 영향을 최소화할 수 있는 새로운 방법이다. LID는 강우 유출수의 지하침투, 강우 종료시 증발산량의 확보, 강우 유출수의 재이용 등을 통한 강우 유출량을 최소화하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. LID 방법은 우수저류 공원, 생태저류지, 지붕층 저류공원, 보도 저류공간, 인공습지, 완충녹지대, 수목 보존지대, 지붕층 배수관, 강우 저장조, 투수성 포장, 토양 개량, 불투수층 최소화, 비점오염원 저감 등으로 효율성, 경제성, 유연성, 합리성, 토지 가치증대 등의 장점이 있다. 영산강 수계의 BOD 배출부하량이 점오염원(21,019kg/일)과 비점오염원(50,047kg/일)의 비율이 3:7 로 비점오염원 배출부하량이 훨씬 큰 상태이다. 특히, 광주광역시, 농업용 토지, 축산계 등의 비점오염원이 영산강 수질에 크게 영향을 미치고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 비점오염원의 영향이 큰 영산강 수계를 대상으로 앞으로 이루어지는 개발계획을 분석하여 LID 기법을 적용하였을 때 영산강 수질에 미치는 영향을 모델링을 통해 예측하고자 한다. 수질개선에 어느 정도의 효과가 있는지 검증하기 위해 국내 실정에 맞고 QUAL2E 모델을 근간으로 WASP5 모형의 장점들을 접목시켜 Bottle BOD의 반응기작 및 조류의 생산에 의한 유기물 증가, 탈질화 반응 등 정체수역에서 일어날 수 있는 반응기작을 모의할 수 있도록 보완한 QUALKO2 모형을 이용하여 그 효과를 모의하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 LID 기법이 도시화에 영향을 얼마나 덜 주는지, 수계의 비점오염원 효과를 통해 물순환 체계의 개선이 어느 정도로 어루어지는지에 대한 효과를 검증을 할 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Breeding of a New Asiatic Lily 'Onnuri' for Cut and Pot Flower (절화 및 분화용 아시아틱 나리 '온누리' 육성)

  • An Asiatic lily (Lilium spp.) cultivar 'Onnuri' for cut and pot flower was developed in 2006 at Jeollabukdo Agricultural Research & Extension Services, Iksan, Korea. The cross was made in 1999 between 'Avignon', orange colored, and 'Nove Cento', yellow colored. A line was preliminarily selected as 'A99-6-48' by reason of stable flower color and shape among germinated seedlings. It had been multiplicated through in vitro culture and then bulbed on field during 2002~2003. After characteristics were investigated from 2004 to 2005, finally it was named as an 'Onnuri' in 2006. Flower of 'Onnuri' belongs to orange-red group with its center shown orange group. Plant height is 92.8 cm, flower size is medium as 13.8 cm. Stigma color is red-brown and blooming direction is upward-facing. Flowering time is mid-June.

Support Modular System for Sustainable-Perpetual-Modular Road (지속가능한 장수명 모듈러 도로를 위한 지지 모듈러 시스템)

  • In this study, the performance of the support modular system, as substructure of the proposed sustainable-perpetual modular road system to reduce road construction time and maintenance costs was evaluated. A modular road system consisting of 4 support modular cross-beams with a lower curved surface was constructed on the test-bed. Six load cells and eight LVDTs were installed in the center part of two cross-beam support modular systems. Two loads, 50kN and 100kN, were applied to 15 points on the pavement slab to measure the load and displacement occurring in the modular road system. The measured displacements were less than 1 mm, so it is considered that there was no problem in the stability of the actual road. When comparing the two applied loads and the measured loads in the field test, it was considered that the load transmitted to the ground under the support modular system is very small. It is considered that the modular road system with the support modular system is applicable to the actual road site.
