EMTP Simulations and Analysis for Detection of Fault Location in High Temperature Superconducting Cables (고온 초전도 케이블 고장점 탐지를 위한 EMTP 시뮬레이션 및 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 고온 초전도 케이블 고장점 탐지를 위해 시간-주파수 반사파 계측법(Time-Frequency Domain Reflectometry)을 적용하여 EMTP 시뮬레이션을 수행하고, 고온 초전도 케이블에 적합한 가우시안 첩 포락선 선형 기준 신호를 제시하였다. 고온 초전도 케이블을 EMTP로 모델링하여 TFDR 기법을 통해 케이블의 종단점을 추정하고 기준 신호의 전파 속도를 계산하였다. EMTP를 활용하여 국부적 결함이 발생한 고온 초전도 케이블을 모델링하였고, 결함 발생 케이블의 고장점 탐지 시뮬레이션 결과를 확인하였다.

Design of High Efficiency Doherty Power Amplifier Using Adaptive Bias Technique for Wibro Applications (적응형 바이어스 기법을 이용한 와이브로용 고효율 도허티 전력증폭기 설계)

  • In this paper, the high efficiency Doherty power amplifier using adaptive bias technique has been designed and realized for 2.3GHz Wibro applications. The RF performances of the Doherty power amplifier using adaptive bias technique have been compared with those of a class AB amplifier alone, and conventional Doherty amplifier. The Maximum PAE of designed Doherty power amplifier with adaptive bias technique has been 36.6% at 34.0dBm output power. The proposed Doherty power amplifier showed an improvement 1dB at output power and 7.6% PAE than a class AB amplifier alone.

  • Detail development and performance tests were conducted for the purpose of developing a damper system capable of lateral displacement control of existing frame structures. The development details are 1) ALD designed to prevent deformation of beams between columns and 2) AWD designed to control inter-story displacement. The non-reinforced BF specimen was used as a comparative study. The evaluation variables are failure mode, load-displacement curve, envelope curve, maximum strength, stiffness degradation and energy dissipation capacity. As a result, the seismic strengthening effect of ALD and AWD was confirmed. Also, it was confirmed that the method of restraining the column with the aramid sheet is superior to the improvement of the seismic performance.

  • In this paper, we propose a predistortion technique which uses a novel combination of the second harmonic technique and the difference frequency technique to achieve independent control of the 3rd and 5th order intermodulation products generated by the PA. The second harmonic and difference frequency terms are generated using an envelope detector and two frequency multipliers. The RF predistorter has capability to independently control of the 3rd and 5th order intermodulation products so that high power amplifier is optimized for linear characteristics. From the measurement results, over the frequency band 2137.5 MHz to 2142.5 MHz, ACPR reduction of 11 dB is obtained for a single 30 dBm W-CDMA carrier.

  • This paper presents a novel linearization scheme for a nonlinear RF amplifier It is based on the amplitude modulation with envelope signal. The 3rd order distortion generator is composed of two FETs and it adopts a balanced structure for the purpose of main carrier cancellation. The amplitude and phase of the IM3 component can be controlled at RF band. This predistorter is implemented and tested at the KOREA PCS Tx. band (1840∼1870MHz). Experimental results of two-tone test show that the IM3 cancellation is achieved about 30-40 ㏈ for the wide dynamic range. The adjacent channel power ratio is improved by over 10 ㏈ at the broad-band CDMA signal with a peak to average power ratio of l0㏈, and this improvement is maintained through a wide range of output power levels.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new method to find dive parameters of an ellipse from the optical Hough transform (HT) results. The method employs the HT for detection of a straight line and the one-dimensional analysis of the resultant parameter domain. Using this algorithm, we simulated about the ellipses with different positions, and obtained the information of the ellipse with 94% accuracy in the worst case. To compare the simulation results with the experimental ones, we performed optical experiments using a HT Computer Generated Hologram (CGH) filter. Through the experiments, we showed that our results were very similar to the simulation results.

  • The possibility of modeling the complex and diversified radio environment using Rician channel has been considered. The signals received in Rician channel have been simulated using the computer simulator. The PDF(Probability Density Function of the Envelope amplitude), PSD(Power Spectral Density), LCR(Level Crossing Rate), ADF(Average Duration of Fades) and BER(Bit Error Rate) of the simulated signal have been compared with those of theory. They were shown to be in good agreement.

  • In this paper, the efficiency of power amplifier has been maximized by the application of EER structure, and the linearity has been improved by using PBG structure. This paper has proposed a design of power amplifier in class-F to get the PAE, and to control dynamic power using envelope detector. PBG structure gets high-linearity by removing harmonics arisen from the mismatching of matching circuit. The PAE and the 3rd order IMD have been improved 34.64%, 6.65 dB compared with those of conventional Doherty amplifier, respectively.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 스펙트럼 추정기에 기반하여 시간-주파수 영역 반사파 계측 시스템에서의 동축케이블 결함을 검출하는 방법을 제안한다. 시간-주파수 영역 반사파 계측 시스템은 가우시안 포락선(Gaussian Envelop)모양의 첩 신호를 기준신호로 하여 도선에 반사파를 분석하는 기법으로써 타 방법에 비하여 높은 정확도를 자랑하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 결함 위치를 추정하기 위해 Wigner 시간 주파수 분포 함수를 이용하므로 계산량 증가에 따른 실시간 구현이 어렵다는 단점이 있었다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 LMS 스펙트럼 추정기를 이용한 시간-주파수 영역 반사파 계측 시스템의 구현방법을 새롭게 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 실제 동축케이블에 대한 실험결과를 통하여 그 성능을 입증하도록 한다.

  • The PAPR of the input signal is increased due to OFDMA signal in a mobile communication system. High efficiency of a power amplifier, which accounts for power consumption, is a very important key technology. Digital Pre-Distortion techniques were used to improve the linearity of the power amplifier. The Asymmetric Doherty scheme was used to improve the efficiency of the power amplifier. In this paper, we propose a new structure of Asymmetric Doherty. Drive power amplifier part is separated as main path and peak path, and phase shifter is employed to improve power combine characteristics of the Doherty Amplifier. Also, envelope tracking technology for drive gate bais in drive peak amplifier is used to improve efficiency.
