This paper attempts to evaluate the local economy and the local economic development policy in Goryeong County and to propose some policy alternatives for local economic development. Goryeong County has a locational advantage, which is not just geographically proximate to Daegu, a large metropolis, but also connected directly to the national highway networks. This region can also be regarded as a rural area, in a sense that the primary industry still plays a more important role for the local economy than the secondary industry and the tertiary industry. However, it is problematic that the local economic development strategies of Goryeong are universal rather than strategic and systematic. In order to design an effective regional economic development policy, the policy makers are necessary to deliberately consider regional specificity and geo-political and geo-economic situations around the region. In addition, it is important to say that policy makers, particularly in rural regions, need to break from the fantasy of high-tech industries. In this context, I propose some region-specific and context-specific policy ideas, including the promotion of the agro-food cluster and the build-up of the em-industrial complexes specialized in mechatronics and transportation equipment manufacturing.

The purpose of this study is to review the effect of internal marketing on job satisfaction in food service industry. In order to verify and achieve the purposes mentioned above, questionnaire data are gathered and analysed from 438 employees and their superiors for measuring employees' service quality fromKangwon province. Multiple regression is applied to test the proposed 2 hypotheses: the relationship between internal marketing and intrinsic job satisfaction, and the relationship between internal marketing and extrinsic job satisfaction. Empirical survey's findings are as follows; First, management support, internal communication and employment security have positive relationships with intrinsic job satisfaction. Second, management support, training & education has positive effect on extrinsic job satisfaction and employment security have positive relationships with extrinsic job satisfaction.

This technical report is to introduce the paper which was presented in the 2011 ISRM Congress at Beijing by Prof. Edwin T. Brown. In commemoration of the fiftieth year of the life of ISRM, the emergence of rock mechanics as a distinctive engineering and scientific discipline is described. And the state and achievements of the discipline at the time the ISRM was founded in 1962, the events leading up to the formation of the Society, the development and achievements of the Society in the 50 years since 1962, and the progress made in the discipline of rock mechanics and rock engineering since that time are also discussed.

The interests in alternative office systems and solutions (called smart work in Korea) are growing. With the lens of boundary theory, this paper tries to understand the nature of work/nonwork boundaries which smart work will be expected to blur. Boundary theory provides permeability, boundary strength, and interference as its key concepts and an empirical study is performed about the individual perception on those concepts. The result of the survey from telecommuters and/or smart work center users at the Company K shows that they perceive work/nonwork permeability, boundary strength, and interference are asymmetric. The result suggests that asymmetric nature of the work/nonwork boundaries should be taken into account when alternative office systems are brought into use.

기계 독해는 단락과 질의가 주어졌을 때 단락 내 정답을 찾는 자연어 처리 태스크이다. 최근 벤치마킹 데이터셋에서 사전학습 언어모델을 기반으로 빠른 발전을 보이며 특정 데이터셋에서 인간의 성능을 뛰어넘는 성과를 거두고 있다. 그러나 이는 단락 내 범위(span)에서 추출된 정보에 관한 것으로, 실제 연산을 요구하는 질의에 대한 응답에는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 범위 내에서 응답이 가능할 뿐만이 아니라, 연산에 관한 이산 추론을 요구하는 단락 및 질의에 대해서도 응답이 가능한 기계 독해 모델의 효과성을 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 영어 DROP (Discrete Reasoning Over the content of Paragraphs, DROP) 데이터셋으로부터 1,794개의 질의응답 쌍을 Google Translator API v2를 사용하여 한국어로 번역 및 정제하여 KoDROP (Korean DROP, KoDROP) 데이터셋을 구축하였다. 단락 및 질의를 참조하여 연산을 수행하기 위한 의미 태그를 한국어 KoBERT 및 KoELECTRA에 접목하여, 숫자 인식이 가능한 KoNABERT, KoNAELECTRA 모델을 생성하였다. 실험 결과, KoDROP 데이터셋은 기존 기계 독해 데이터셋과 비교하여 단락에 대한 더욱 포괄적인 이해와 연산 정보를 요구하였으며, 가장 높은 성능을 기록한 KoNAELECTRA는 KoBERT과 비교하여 F1, EM에서 모두 19.20의 월등한 성능 향상을 보였다.

Although hospice care includes palliative care technology in terminally ill person for pain, it is much more holistic including emotional, spiritual and other life dimension. Human suffering that experiencing the hospice client must be reconsidered whether one starts with an objective side or a subjective side of suffering, the strategies about the expanded consciousness is important. In the hospice caring perspectives, the body, mind and spirit are integrated so the objectivity and subjectivity can merge; the extended awareness with inner resource or energy, and the positive thinking about the God is meaningful especially dying person, family member, and the hospice team.

The purpose of this study was to suggest educational development plans that should provide better small business education by solidifying it and maximizing its effectiveness in order to reinforce the competitiveness of small business. As the results of the analysis, 15 essential tasks were suggested. The conclusions drawn from the study were as follows: First, SEDA should establish a practical road map in a long-term basis, and precede small business education by coping with social changes. Second, SEDA should expand the inclusive capacity that builds comprehensively and nationally the network with EHRD, its local branches and Small Business Centers. Third, it was quite suggestive that SEDA should follow up one of major strategies, that is optimizing curriculum, by developing proper curriculum based on small business life cycle and approaching it in a systematic way.

In this paper, we collected the articles related to artificial intelligence among SCI(E) journals published by Korean authors in 'Web of Science' and conducted frequency analysis and keyword network analysis. As a result of the analysis, the artificial intelligence thesis showed an average growth of about 10% per year, but the relative ratio decreased. As time went on, we could confirm that there is a lot of practical and applied research in artificial intelligence research. Unlike the US 'National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development,' the field of research in Korea was focused on local and technical aspects. Therefore, Korea should go beyond the theoretical and technical iterations of artificial intelligence, and research should be carried out to present a comprehensive future direction.

This study is to define new road capacity concept, and to develop and propose an estimation method, through the analysis of individual vehicular behaviors in continuum flow. Developments in detection technology enable various and precise traffic data collection. The U.S. HCM (Highway Capacity Manual) method does not require such various and precise traffic data, and outputs only limited results. Alternative capacity concepts, which can be classified into a stochastic model and behavioral or deterministic model, are attempts for modeling some prominent traffic flow features, namely so-called a capacity drop and a traffic hysteresis, using such various and precise traffic data. Yet, no capacity concept up-to-date can describe both features. The analysis of individual vehicular behaviors, including speed-density plot per time lap, traffic flow-speed-density diagram per each sampling interval, time headway distribution, and free flow speed distribution, is performed for overcoming the limits of the previous capacity concepts. A stochastic methods are applied to determine time headway for estimating freeway capacity for traffic control.

Narratives are fundamental to human cognition and social culture, serving as the primary means by which individuals and societies construct meaning, share experiences, and convey cultural and moral values. The field of artificial intelligence, which seeks to mimic human thought and behavior, has long studied story generation and story understanding, and today's Large Language Models are demonstrating remarkable narrative capabilities based on advances in natural language processing. This situation raises a variety of changes and new issues, but a comprehensive discussion of them is hard to find. This paper aims to provide a holistic view of the current state and future changes by exploring the intersections and interactions of human and AI narrative intelligence. This paper begins with a review of multidisciplinary research on the intrinsic relationship between humans and narrative, represented by the term Homo narrans, and then provide a historical overview of how narrative has been studied in the field of AI. This paper then explore the possibilities and limitations of narrative intelligence as revealed by today's Large Language Models, and present three philosophical challenges for understanding the implications of AI with narrative intelligence.
