A Study on PIV Measurement of Unsteady Flow around Disk caused by Slide Type Valve Quick Closing (슬라이드 밸브 급폐쇄에 따른 디스크 주위 비정상유동의 PIV계측에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, we experimentally studied flow characteristic by applying PIV measuring techniques which could measure the point velocity of all flow field and measuring the unsteady velocity of surrounding disk generated in a short time. Time range of great velocity change following quick closing of the slide valve was within 0.1s and the cycle was presumed to be 0.12s as a result of comparison study between the result of point flow field and of existing pressure change. Also, surrounding disk flow inside the circular pipe was closed from the upper part and flow road was getting narrow and advanced to the lower part incidentally quickly there was a tendency that the size of the flow back velocity to the upper part immeadiately after the closure decreased to 4/120s and increased again. There was flow back velocity component in y/D=0.2 lower part by the influence of flow back to the upper part after complete closure and the vortex flow of 0.2D-size near y/D=0.7, x/D=-0.3 was observed.

  • 내부에 정방형, 외부에 원형인 두 정온동심수평관으로 이루어진 폐쇄공간에서 열부력으로 야기된 대류열전달 현상을 연구하였다. 주어진 비정규적 형상에서의 층류 정상 Boussinesq 유동을 해 석하기 위하여, 지구중력방향에 대하여 가능한 두 개의 대칭형 위치에 관하여, Galerkin 유한요 소법을 사용하였다. 이론의 결과를 확증하기 위하여 실험적으로도 온도측정과 유선의 가시화를 수행하였다. 정방형내관의 직각인 선단은 국소 및 총체열전달에 있어서 소극적인 역할을 하지만, 이들로 인한 경계층 유동의 박리는 발생하지 아니함을 보였다. 이 내관의 상부 수평면상에서는 유동속도와 온도구배가 낮기는 하나 확연한 대칭형의 열상승류(Plume)가 가능하였다. 내관의 벽면들이 지구중력방향에 관하여 .+-.45.deg.의 각을 이룰 경우 과류의 중심부가, Rayleigh수가 6.5*$10^{4}$보다 작을 때는 4개, 이보다 클때는 2개가 폐쇄공간 안에서 발생하였다.

Flow Analyses of Upper Airway Before and After Maxillomandibular Advancement Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea Patient (폐쇄성 수면무호흡증 환자의 상하악 전진술 후 상기도 내 유동해석)

  • Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a syndrome characterized by the repetitive episodic collapse of the upper airway. Maxillomandibular advancement surgery is one of the most effective surgical treatment methods in treating obstructive sleep apnea. The advancement of both maxill and mandible can enlarge the cross-sectional areas and volumes of the postero-superior airway. The purpose of this study is to analyze flow patterns in the upper airway before and after maxillomandibular advancement surgery. Here, we analyzed flow phenomena of inspiration and expiration to prevent obstructive sleep apnea patient from happening side effect. Modeling of the upper airway carried out from clinical CT scanned images. We used time-dependent values for boundary condition. CFD analyses were performed and evaluated section of minimum area (SMA), compared with patient inside upper airway before and after maxillomandibular advancement surgery in SMA, and negative pressure effects. The study showed the greatest enlargment of the section of minimum cross-sectional area. Moreover, the velocity and the negative airway pressure were decreased. According to the result of this study, the maxillomandibular advancement surgery stabilizes the airflow in the postero-superior airway of OSA patients.

  • Since the discovery, in the 1980s, of erosion-pit-induced fractures in implanted mechanical heart valves. cavitation on the surface of mechanical heart valves has been widely studied as a possible cause of pitting. Several factors, including peak dp/dt of the ventricular pressure. maximum closing velocity of the leaflet, and squeeze flow. have been studied as indices of the cavitation threshold. In the present study. cavitation erosion on the surface of a mechanical valve was examined by focusing on squeeze flow and the water hammer phenomenon during the closing period of the valve. In this study, we measures pressure wave forms near a valve and closing velocities of a disk, which were placed in a holder with and without compliance. In case of all holders, pressure drop of below vapor pressure expect at near the surface disk. It was also found that the closing velocity of the disk increased and that cavitation erosion was enhanced too. These results suggest that disk closing velocity during the closing phase has signifiant effects on pitting erosion.

Unsteady Wall Interference Effect on Flows around a Circular Cylinder in Closed Test-Section Wind Tunnels (폐쇄형 풍동 시험부내의 원형 실린더 유동에 대한 비정상 벽면효과 연구)

  • For study on the unsteady wall interference effect, flows around a circular cylinder in closed test-section wind tunnels have been numerically investigated by solving compressible Navier-Stokes equations. The numerical scheme is based on a node-based finite-volume method with the Roe's flux-difference splitting and an implicit time-integration method coupled with dual time-step sub-iteration. The computed results showed that the unsteady pressure gradient over the cylinder is enhanced by the wall interference, and as a result the fluctuations of lift and drag are augmented. The drag is further increased because of the lower base pressure. The vortex shedding frequency is also increased by the wall interference. The pressure on the test section wall shows the harmonics having the shedding frequency contained in the wall effect.

The Surgical Treatment of Malignant Bowel Obstruction Caused by Recurrent Gastric Cancer (재발된 위암 환자에서 발생한 악성 장폐쇄증의 수술적 치료)

  • Purpose: Malignant bowel obstruction caused by recurrent gastric cancer must be treated appropriately to improve the effects of treatment and to prolong survival. We reviewed the surgical treatments for malignant bowel obstruction caused by recurrent gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: The subjects were patients with malignant bowel obstruction caused by recurrent gastric cancer and these patients were treated by surgical procedures at our hospital from 1998 to 2008. The patients were treated by resection, ostomy or bypass. The success of treatment was decided when the patients were able to tolerate more than a liquid diet. Results: 42 patients were treated 46 times by surgical procedures. Resection was done12 times, ostomy was done 24 times and bypass was done 10 times. The hospital stay and the period to liquid diet after the operation were shorter in the ostomy group. The post operative morbidity rate was 21.7% and the post operative death rate was 8.7%. There was no significant difference in survival according to the type of surgery. Conclusion: Ostomy is good choice for selected patients because it has a shorter hospital stay and period to liquid diet. There was no significant difference in survival according to the type of surgery because curative resection is difficult to perform in patients with malignant bowel obstruction.

방사성 폐기물 처분동굴 내로 유입되는 지하수량 추정 및 처분동굴 폐쇄후 지하수 유동 경로 분석

  • 지하 암반내에 방사성 폐기물 영구 처분을 위한 동굴이 건설될 경우 정상 상태에서 처분동굴 주변 암반이 균질 다공성 매질이라는 가정 아래 동굴내로 유입되는 지하수량을 NAMMU 컴퓨터 프로그램을 이용하여 계산하였다. 계산 결과는 산정상 밑과 해저밑이 약간 유입량이 많았으나 위치에 크게 영향 받지는 않았다. 계산값의 검증을 위해서 비교적 단순 지형에 대한 해석해를 유도하여 비교하였다. 처분시설 페쇄후 성능 평가를 위해 지하수 유동 거리가 가장 길 것으로 예상되는 산정상 밑 동굴에 대해 유동경로 분석을 수행하여, 처분 동굴로부터 지표수로의 지하수 유동 거리 및 유동 시간 등을 구하였다. 또한, 산정상 밑 처분동굴을 실제와 같이 5개로 모델링하여 유입량의 변화를 살펴보았으며, 동굴 주변 암반 특성의 값에 대한 지하수 유입량 변화를 알아보았다.
