An Efficient Space Leaping Using Minimum Distance Value (최소 거리값을 이용한 효율적인 공간 도약법)

  • 효과적인 볼륨렌더링을 위해서는 빠른 속도와 고화질이라는 두 가지 조건을 모두 충족시켜야 한다. 기존에 사용된 광선추적법은 화질이 좋은 반면에 실시간 렌더링을 하기에는 한계가 있었다. 공간 도약법은 빈 공간에 대한 샘플링을 생략함으로써 렌더링 속도를 향상시킬 수 있으나 관측조건에 따라 성능이 저하되는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 공간 도약법을 개선하여 관측조건과 무관하게 고화질을 유지하면서 속도를 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. 여기서는 뷰 평면을 균일한 격자로 분할하고 각 격자내에서 가장 가까운 객체의 표면까지의 거리를 구한 후 그 위치부터 공간 도약함으로써 속도를 향상시킨다.

  • 본 논문은 기존에 데스크 탑 환경에서 개발된 이미지 처리 기반의 증강현실 시스템을 모바일 기기 환경에서 구동 가능한 형태로 개량하고, 성능을 향상시키는 연구에 관한 것이다. 평면 객체에만 국한되어 목표 객체를 선정하는 기존 증강 현실 모듈의 한계점을 극복하기 위하여 변형 가능한 객체에 대한 인식 및 추적이 가능하도록 개선하였다. 또한 해당 모듈을 실제 사용 가능한 어플리케이션 제작에 활용하고 모바일 증강 현실의 유용성 및 향후 상용 서비스에서의 이용 가능성을 보인다.

  • Recently, as the demand for the mobile platform market in the virtual/augmented/mixed reality field is increasing, experiential content that gives users a real-world felt through a virtual environment is drawing attention. In this paper, as a method of tracking a tracker for user location estimation in a virtual space movement platform for motion capture of trainees, we present a method of estimating 3D coordinates of the 3D cross covariance through the coordinates of the markers projected on the image. In addition, the validity of the proposed algorithm is verified through rigid body tracking experiments.

Fast Pattern Tracking in Cubemap Video Using Kalman Filter (큐브맵 비디오에서 칼만 필터를 사용한 빠른 패턴 추적)

  • This paper presents a fast pattern tracking method using location prediction in cubemap video for 360-degree VR. A spherical cubemap frame has six face textures and searching a pattern is much slower than a flat image. To overcome the limitation, we propose a method of predicting the location of target pattern using Kalman filter and reducing the search area by considering only textures of predicted location. The experimental results showed that the proposed system is much faster than the previous method of searching all six faces and also gives accurate pattern tracking performance.

The Diagnostic Value of 99mTc DMSA Renal Scan SPECT Images in Addition to Planar Image in Children with Urinary Tract Infection (소아 요로 감염에서 99mTc DMSA 신스캔 평면영상에 추가된 SPECT 영상의 진단적 가치)

  • Purpose : 99mTc DMSA renal scan have been widely used not only for tile evaluation of renal scars but also for the diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis. Recent studies have shown SPECT images have higher accuracy than the planar images with some controversy. We evaluated the availability of the SPECT images adding to planar images for the diagnosis of acute pyelonephritis(APN) and renal scar in children with urinary tract infection (UTI). Methods : 130 children with UTI (260 kidney units) and 22 follow-up children (44 kidney units) were included between January 1, 1997 and July 31, 1999 at Ewha University Mokdong Hospital. Planar Anterior and posterior images and SPECT axial and coronal images of 99mTc DMSA renal scan were obtained with Starcam 4000-i U.S.A. GE at 3 hours after 99mTc DMSA I.V. injection. The data were analyzed by Chi square test after Yates's correction. Results : The detection rate of the acute pyelonephritis by SPECT images was 12.3$\%$ higher than that of planar images ($47.7\%\;vs\;35.4\%$) by the patient and 6.9$\%$ higher also ($31.9\%\;vs\;25.4\%$) by the kidney unit. 18 kidney units with negative planar images had focal defect in 10 kidney units (3.8$\%$) and multifocal defect in 8 kidney units (3.1$\%$) on SPECT images, but 1 kidney unit with positive planar image had negative SPECT image. SPECT images were superior to tile planar images in 17.3$\%$. identical in 82.3$\%$ and inferior in 0.4$\%$ to planar image. The detection rate of tile renal scars by SPECT images was 13.7$\%$ higher than planar images by the patient ($68.2\%\;vs\;54.5\%$) and 6.8$\%$ higher also ($43.2\%\;vs\;36.4\%$) by the kidney unit. SPECT images were superior to the planar images in 17.3$\%$ and identical in 82.3$\%$ to planar image. Conclusion SPECT images had shown higher detection rate and better image than planar images for the diagnosis of the acute pyelonephritis and the evaluation of the renal scars. (J.   • In this paper, we propose a path generation and tracking algorithm of an unmanned air vehicle in a two-dimensional plane given the initial and final points. The path generation algorithm using the Dubins curve proposed in this work has the advantage that it can be applied in real time to an unmanned air vehicle. The path tracking algorithm is an algorithm similar to the line-of-sight induction algorithm. In order to efficiently control the direction angle, a gain related to the look ahead distance concept is introduced. Most of UAVs have the limited maximum curvature due to the structural constraints. A numerical simulation is conducted to follow the path generated by the sliding mode controller considering the angular velocity limit. The path generation and tracking performance is verified by comparing the suggested controller with conventional control techniques.

An Indoor Propagation Modeling that can Analyze a Fading Characteristic (페이딩 분석이 가능한 실내 전파 모델링)

  • In this paper, we proposed the image-based 3D ray tracing indoor propagation model using a patch scattering model for fading analysis of indoor propagation environments. An image-based 3D ray tracing technique is mainly used, which allows the rapid generation of the complex channel impulse response for any given location and polarization of transmitter and receiver. Due to the site specific nature of indoor environment, we took into account the location and the electrical properties of individual walls and objects such as windows, doors and plaster board in our propagation model. Besides, the 3D radiation beam-patterns and polarizations of arbitrary antennas were considered, and using patch scattering model we can consider the change of the polarization due to the scattering from the various indoor objects, like desks, chairs and etc. the are almost impossible to be modeled with the basic image-based ray tracing method. The model will predict the impulse response, the rms delay spread, the fading characteristics of the channel and performances of the polarization diversity schemes.

A Bifurcation Analysis of Space Structures by Using 3D Beam-Column Element Considering Finite Deformations and Bowing Effect (유한변형과 굽힘효과가 고려된 3차원 보-기둥요소에 의한 공간구조물의 분기좌굴해석)

  • The present paper briefly describes the space frame element and the fundamental strategies in computational elastic bifurcation theory of geometrically nonlinear, single load parameter conservative elastic spatial structures. A method for large deformation(rotation) analysis of space frame is based on an eulerian formulation, which takes into consideration the effects of large joint translations and rotations with finite deformation(rotation). The local member force-deformation relationships are based on the beam-column approach, and the change in member chord lengths caused by axial strain and flexural bowing are taken into account. and the derived geometric stiffness matrix is unsymmetric because of the fact that finite rotations are not commutative under addition. To detect the singular point such as bifurcation point, an iterative pin-pointing algorithm is proposed. And the path switching mode for bifurcation path is based on the non-negative eigen-value and it's corresponding eigen-vector. Some numerical examples for bifurcation analysis are carried out for a plane frame, plane circular arch and space dome structures are described.

Robust Trajectory Tracking Control of a Mobile Robot Combining PDC and Integral Sliding Mode Control (PDC와 적분 슬라이딩 모드 제어를 결합한 이동 로봇의 강인 궤도 추적 제어)

  • In this paper, a robust trajectory tracking control method of a wheeled mobile robot is newly proposed combining the PDC and the ISMC. The PDC is a relatively simple and easy control method for nonlinear system compared to the other non-linear control methods. And the ISMC can have robust and stable control characteristics against model uncertainties and disturbances from the initial time by placing the states on the sliding plane with desired nominal dynamics. Therefore, the proposed PDC+ISMC trajectory tracking control method shows robust trajectory tracking performance in spite of external disturbance. The tracking performance of the proposed method is verified through simulations. Even though the disturbance increases, the proposed method keeps the performance of the PDC method when there is no disturbance. However, the PDC trajectory tracking control method has increasing tracking error unlike the proposed method when the disturbance increases.

Panoramic 3D Reconstruction of an Indoor Scene Using Depth and Color Images Acquired from A Multi-view Camera (다시점 카메라로부터 획득된 깊이 및 컬러 영상을 이용한 실내환경의 파노라믹 3D 복원)

  • 본 논문에서는 다시점 카메라부터 획득된 부분적인 3D 점군을 사용하여 실내환경의 3D 복원을 위한 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 지금까지 다양한 양안차 추정 알고리즘이 제안되었으며, 이는 활용 가능한 깊이 영상이 다양함을 의미한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 일반화된 다시점 카메라를 이용하여 실내환경을 복원하는 방법을 다룬다. 첫 번째, 3D 점군들의 시간적 특성을 기반으로 변화량이 큰 3D 점들을 제거하고, 공간적 특성을 기반으로 주변의 3D 점을 참조하여 빈 영역을 채움으로써 깊이 영상 정제 과정을 수행한다. 두 번째, 연속된 두 시점에서의 3D 점군을 동일한 영상 평면으로 투영하고, 수정된 KLT (Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi) 특징 추적기를 사용하여 대응점을 찾는다. 그리고 대응점 간의 거리 오차를 최소화함으로써 정밀한 정합을 수행한다. 마지막으로, 여러 시점에서 획득된 3D 점군과 한 쌍의 2D 영상을 동시에 이용하여 3D 점들의 위치를 세밀하게 조절함으로써 최종적인 3D 모델을 생성한다. 제안된 방법은 대응점을 2D 영상 평면에서 찾음으로써 계산의 복잡도를 줄였으며, 3D 데이터의 정밀도가 낮은 경우에도 효과적으로 동작한다. 또한, 다시점 카메라를 이용함으로써 수 시점에서의 깊이 영상과 컬러 영상만으로도 실내환경 3D 복원이 가능하다. 제안된 방법은 네비게이션 뿐만 아니라 상호작용을 위한 3D 모델 생성에 활용될 수 있다.
