Geometric Reparametization of Regular Plane Polynomial Pythagorean Hodograph Curves

  • In this paper, we study the special geometric reparametization of the (plane polynomial) Pythagorean Hodograph curves in the view point of their roots. The PH curves are completely determined by the roots of their hodographs. we show that the loci of roots of the PH curves satisfy some interesting geometric properties.

  • 현행 교육과정에서는 서로 만나는 두 직선의 둘레로 회전하여 얻는 곡면 즉 직원뿔을 꼭지점을 지나지 않는 평면으로 잘라 만들어지는 원추곡선 중에서 원을 제외한 포물선, 타원, 쌍곡선에 대한 시각적 직관적 개념 형성 지도가 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 시각적, 직관적 개념 형성에 적합한 상황과 대상을 제공할 수 있는 컴퓨터 응용소프트웨어를 이용하여 이차곡선을 도입하고 Computer Algebra System을 적용한 MathView를 이용하여 포물선, 타원, 쌍곡선 방정식의 개념 지도 방안을 구안하였다.

In-Plane Buckling Analysis of Curved Beams Using DQM (미분구적법(DQM)을 이용한 곡선보의 내평면 좌굴해석)

  • The differential quadrature method (DQM) is applied to computation of the eigenvalues of in-plane buckling of the curved beams. Critical moments and loads are calculated for the beam subjected to equal and opposite bending moments and uniformly distributed radial loads with various end conditions and opening angles. Results are compared with existing exact solutions where available. The DQM gives good accuracy even when only a limited number of grid points is used. More results are given for two sets of boundary conditions not considered by previous investigators for in-plane buckling: clamped-clamped and simply supported-clamped ends.

  • In tropical geometry, the sum of two numbers is defined as the minimum, and the multiplication as the sum. We learned that dynamic programming in tropical algebraic geometry can be used to find the shortest path in graphs. We have also learned about the Bezout's Theorem, which is a theorem concerning the intersections of tropical plane curves, and the stable intersection principle.

  • In this paper the chaotic out-of-plane vibrations of the uniformly curved pipe with pulsating flow are theoretically investigated. The derived equations of motion contain the effects of nonlinear curvature and torsional coupling. The corresponding nonlinear ordinary differential equation is a type of nonhomogenous Hill's equation . this is transformed into the averaged equation by averaging theorem. Bifurcation curves of chaotic motion are obtained by Melnikov's method and plotted in several cases of frequency ratios. The theoretically obtained results are demonstrated by numerical simulation. And strange attractors are shown.

  • The differential quadrature method (DQM) is applied to computation of eigenvalues of the equations of motion governing the free in-plane and out-of-plane vibrations for circular curved beams. Fundamental frequencies are calculated for the members with various end conditions and opening angles. The results are compared with existing exact solutions and numerical solutions by other methods (Rayleigh-Ritz, Galerkin or FEM) for cases in which they are available. The differential quadrature method gives good accuracy even when only a limited number of grid points is used.

  • In this study, FSS(Frequency Selective Surface) with Koch Fractal Curve slot is positioned on the conventional single layer microstrip patch antenna. Numerical results of the proposed antenna bandwidth and the antenna gain are increased compared with those of the conventional single layer microstrip patch antenna. In the future, the fractal geometry of the slot in FSS(Frequency Selective Surface) as a supplementary microstrip patch is researched for the enhancement of the microstrip patch antenna characteristics.

  • 고속철도에서는 고속주행으로 인한 탈선을 방지하기 위하여 연직 또는 평면선형에 대하여 매우 엄격히 제한하고 있다. 종방향 경사는 2.5% 이하, 평면곡선반경에 대하여는 7,000 m 이상으로 규정하고 있으므로, 도로는 물론 일반철도에 비하여 교량구조물 발생은 더욱 증가된다. 한편 고속철도 교량은 구조물의 안전성 뿐만 마니라 승차감을 위하여 동적거동에 대하여 엄격히 제한된다. 또한 교량과 레일의 상호작용 등에 따라 무한장 개념의 레일에 악영향을 피하기 위해 교량의 종방향 변위도 제한되기 때문에 지간 장이 짧고 상판 구조물은 큰 강성을 갖게 된다.   • In the case of the superstructure which is consist of two I girders and slab, the section can behave as II section, so that the neutral axis with respect to out of plane direction flexure can be regarded as major axis. Therefore in-plane flexural mode might govern the free vibration mode. Meanwhile, horizontally curved girders always experience not only bending moments but also torsional moments although the primary load is usually supposed to be gravitational load. The interaction due to bending and torsional moments make the behavior complicated and torsional mode may govern the free vibration mode. In other words, structure can have different dynamic characteristic due to its initial curvature. In this research, using 3-dimensional sell elements, free-vibration analyses are carried out due to initial curvature. The analysis models are assumed to be composite and non-composite and finally natural frequency and eigen mode are discussed.
