'Part' vs. 'Whole': Comparison between the Socially Underprivileged and the Whole Population in Terms of Inter-regional Disparities in Quality of Life ('부분' 대 '전체' - 사회적 약자와 전체 인구의 삶의 질 지역 격차의 비교 -)

  • This study aims to compare the differences between the socially underprivileged and the population as a whole in terms of the quality of life gap between the Seoul metropolitan and non-capital regions based on the capabilities approach. To this end, we selected indicators that can measure nine dimensions of capabilities, such as income, housing, health, and social relations, calculated indicator values for the socially underprivileged and the whole population, and standardized them. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the SUR model were used for comparative analysis. The results show that there are significant differences in the disparities between the Seoul metropolitan and non-capital regions between the socially underprivileged and the entire population, and the differences are generally consistent in the most unfavorable direction for the socially underprivileged in the non-capital regions. In addition, the gap between the Seoul metropolitan and non-capital regions is not large from the point of view of the total population average, but the inter-regional gap is still significant from the viewpoint of the socially underprivileged. These results show the limitations of 'average' regional policies based on an analysis of the average of the total population, and the study is significant to illustrate the ecological errors that may arise in regional problem analysis.

  • In this paper, we propose a Fuzzy Classifier System(FCS) to find a set of fuzzy rules which can carry out the edge detection of a image. The FCS is based on the fuzzy logic system combined with machine learning. Therefore the antecedent and consequent of a classifier in FCS are the same as those of a fuzzy rule. There are two different approaches, Michigan and Pittsburgh approaches, to acquire appropriate fuzzy rules by evolutionary computation. In this paper, we use the Michigan style in which a single fuzzy if-then rule is coded as an individual. Also the FCS employs the Genetic Algorithms to generate new rules and modify rules when performance of the system needs to be improved. The proposed method is evaluated by applying it to the edge detection of a gray-level image that is a pre-processing step of the computer vision. the differences of average gray-level of the each vertical/horizontal arrays of neighborhood pixels are represented into fuzzy sets, and then the center pixel is decided whether it is edge pixel or not using fuzzy if-then rules. We compare the resulting image with a conventional edge image obtained by the other edge detection method such as Sobel edge detection.

  • 접근성이란 특정 목적을 가진 통행자가 한 지점에서 다른 지점으로 얼마나 쉽게 갈 수 있는가 를 나타내는 척도를 말한다. 따라서 접근성은 주로 공간적인 거리나 시간이 가장 중요한 요인으로 작용하며 최근에는 공간적 거리보다는 접근시간이 더 중요한 접근성 척도로 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 GIS공간분석기법과 접근성이론을 접목하여 도시시설의 적정후보지 평가방법을 정립한 후 현재 검토되고 있는 수도권 도심공항터미널 입지 후보지 중 어떤 후보지가 이용들의 총통행시간을 최소화하는 후보 지인가에 대해 평가해보았다. 평가 결과 다음과 같은 사실을 밝힐 수 있었다. 첫째, 수도권 전체로 볼 때 평균접근시간이 가장 양호한 후보지는 쌍문터미널(현 간이 도심공항터미널)이고, 2위는 현 삼성동 도심공항터미널과 강남고속터미널, 3위는 동서울터미널과 남서울터미널 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 수도권전체 이용자들의 총통행시간을 최소로 하는 도심공항터미널 후보지는 접근성이 가장 양호한 쌍문동터미널이 아니라 현 서울역이 1위이고, 2위는 강남고속 터미널, 3위는 용산 역으로 나타났다. 셋째, 터미널 후보지간의 가중평균접근 시간은 도심인 서울시내에 입지한 후보지와 수도권 외곽에 입지 한 후보지간에 큰 차이가 없으나 총 이용자 접근시간은 서울시에 입지한 후보지보다 외곽의 후보지가 훨씬 높게 나타나 뚜렷한 차별성을 보이고 있다. 넷째, 최적후보지 1,2,3순위 모두 서울도심과 강남도심에 입지한 지역들로 나타나 교통의 접근성 보다는 아직 인구밀집도가 주요 도시시설의 입지결정에 주요한 결정요인 되는 것으로 나타났다.해석 시스템을 구축할 예정이다. 추후에는 하수도 관망해석 컴포넌트와 하수도 업무 컴포넌트와의 통합부분에 대한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다.7.0로 하고 표준(標準) EDTA 용액(溶液)을 소량(少量)넣고 8N-KOH로 pH $12{\sim}13$으로 하고 N-N 희석분말(稀釋粉末)을 지시약(指示藥) 으로써 표준(標準) EDTA 용액(溶液)으로 적정(滴定)하여 Ca 치(値)를 얻었다. Ca와 Mg의 합계결정치(合計決定値)와 Ca 적정치(滴定値) 차(差)로 Mg 치(値)를 얻었다. 음(陰) ion 구분(區分)으로부터 상법(常法)에 의하여 $MgNH_4PO_4$의 침전(沈澱)을 만들어서 HCl에 녹키고 일정량(一定量)의 표준(標準) EDTA 용액(溶液)을 넣어 pH 7.0로 한다음 완충액(緩衝液)으로 pH 10으로 하고 BT 지시약(指示藥)을 써서 표준(標準) Mg $SO_4$용액(溶液)으로 적정(滴定)하여 P 치(値)를 얻었다. 본법(本法)으로 Na-phytate를 분석(分析)한 결과(結果) Na-phytate의 분자식(分子式)을 $C_6H_6O_{24}P_6Mg_4CaNa_2{\cdot}5H_2O$라고 하였을 때의 이론치(理論値)에 비(比)하여 P가 98.9% Cark 97.1%, Mg가 99.1%이고 통계처리(統計處理)한 결과분석치(結果分析値)와 이론치(理論値)는 잘 일치(一致)된다. 그러나 종래법(從來法)에 의(依)한 분석치(分析値)는 이론치(理論値)에 비(比)하여 P가 92.40%, Cark 86.80

A Data-driven Multiscale Analysis for Hyperelastic Composite Materials Based on the Mean-field Homogenization Method (초탄성 복합재의 평균장 균질화 데이터 기반 멀티스케일 해석)

  • The classical multiscale finite element (FE2 ) method involves iterative calculations of micro-boundary value problems for representative volume elements at every integration point in macro scale, making it a computationally time and data storage space. To overcome this, we developed the data-driven multiscale analysis method based on the mean-field homogenization (MFH). Data-driven computational mechanics (DDCM) analysis is a model-free approach that directly utilizes strain-stress datasets. For performing multiscale analysis, we efficiently construct a strain-stress database for the microstructure of composite materials using mean-field homogenization and conduct data-driven computational mechanics simulations based on this database. In this paper, we apply the developed multiscale analysis framework to an example, confirming the results of data-driven computational mechanics simulations considering the microstructure of a hyperelastic composite material. Therefore, the application of data-driven computational mechanics approach in multiscale analysis can be applied to various materials and structures, opening up new possibilities for multiscale analysis research and applications.

Time series analysis for Korean COVID-19 confirmed cases: HAR-TP-T model approach (한국 COVID-19 확진자 수에 대한 시계열 분석: HAR-TP-T 모형 접근법)

  • This paper studies time series analysis with estimation and forecasting for Korean COVID-19 confirmed cases, based on the approach of a heterogeneous autoregressive (HAR) model with two-piece t (TP-T) distributed errors. We consider HAR-TP-T time series models and suggest a step-by-step method to estimate HAR coefficients as well as TP-T distribution parameters. In our proposed step-by-step estimation, the ordinary least squares method is utilized to estimate the HAR coefficients while the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method is adopted to estimate the TP-T error parameters. A simulation study on the step-by-step method is conducted and it shows a good performance. For the empirical analysis on the Korean COVID-19 confirmed cases, estimates in the HAR-TP-T models of order p = 2, 3, 4 are computed along with a couple of selected lags, which include the optimal lags chosen by minimizing the mean squares errors of the models. The estimation results by our proposed method and the solely MLE are compared with some criteria rules. Our proposed step-by-step method outperforms the MLE in two aspects: mean squares error of the HAR model and mean squares difference between the TP-T residuals and their densities. Moreover, forecasting for the Korean COVID-19 confirmed cases is discussed with the optimally selected HAR-TP-T model. Mean absolute percentage error of one-step ahead out-of-sample forecasts is evaluated as 0.0953% in the proposed model. We conclude that our proposed HAR-TP-T time series model with optimally selected lags and its step-by-step estimation provide an accurate forecasting performance for the Korean COVID-19 confirmed cases.

Runoff Curve Number Estimation for Cover and Treatment Classification of Satellite Image(II): - Application and Verification (위성영상 피복분류에 대한 CN값 산정(II): - 적용 및 검정 -)

  • The objective of this study is to test the applicability of CN values suggested using land cover and treatment classification of satellite image. Applicability test is based on the comparison of observed effective rainfall and computed one. The 3 case study areas, where are the upstream of Gyeongan stage station, the upstream of Baekokpo stage station Pyungchang River basin, and the upstream of Koesan Dam, are selected to test the proposed CN values and the hydrologic and meteorologic data, Landsat-7 ETM of 2000, soil map of 1:50,000 are collected for the selected areas. The results show that the computed CN values for three study cases are 71, 63, 66, respectively, and the errors between observed and computed effective rainfall are within about 30%. It can be concluded that the proposed CN values from this study for land cover and treatment classification of satellite image not only provides more accurate results for the computation of effective rainfall, but also suggest the objective CN values and effective rainfall.

  • Since a device such as a rocket motor requires very high reliability, a reasonable reliability design process is essential. However, Korea has implemented a design method for applying a safety factor to each component. In classic reliability analysis, input variables such as mean and standard deviation, used in the limit state function, are treated as deterministic values. Because the mean and standard deviation are determined by a small amount of data, this approach could lead to inaccurate results. In this study, reliability analysis is performed for bolted joints and o-ring seals, and the Bayesian approach is used to statistically estimate the input variables. The estimated variables and failure probability, calculated by the reliability analysis, are derived in the form of probability distributions.

This paper proposes a new methodology to estimate the IEAR(Interrupted energy assessment rate) based on expectation value of outage time by using micro approach. The case study in this paper was performed on the basis of the survey data which had been conducted in a previous research.

  • This paper presents a nonparametric method to test if the mean difference of DEA efficiency estimates between two groups statistically exists. A proposed method employs a bootstrapping approach to generation BCC efficiency estimates through Monte Carlo simulation resampling process. For the purpose of demonstration, we empirically apply the proposed method to the korean bank industry and compare its result with the result by the traditional deterministic DEA method. The nonparametric statistical hypothesis testing procedure in this study, which considers not only stochastic variability of the DEA data, but also random radial deviations off the efficient frontier, serves as a useful tool for dbjectively evaluating whether the mean difference of DEA efficiency estimates between groups is statistically significant.

  • 지식베이스 시스템의 중요한 구성 요소로는 유용한 지식베이스의 어떤 조합이 주어진 과업을 위해서 선택된 문제 해결자의 요구사항을 만족시키는지를 고찰하는 지식베이스 집합과 문제 해결자들의 집합을 들 수 있다. 가능한 조합을 인식하는 것은 일련의 제약만족문제를 실험하는 것과 해결될 수 없는 것을 제거하는 것을 필요로 하는데, 제약만족 문제의 모순성 발견을 신속히 하기 위해 본 연구에서는 제약을 제거함에 의해서 제약만족문제를 완화시키는 방법을 사용하였다. 완화 접근법을 시험하기 위해서, 기존의 급성복통과 관련된 지능형 질환 진단 시스템(A-IDS-DAAP)과 제약을 제거함에 의해서 제약만족문제를 완화시키는 방법을 적용한 급성복통과 관련된 지능형 질환 진단 시스템(CR-IDS-DAAP)을 가지고 실험을 하여 평균 수행시간을 감소시켜 시스템의 성능을 향상시키게 되었다.
