The 16th Century Hawking in Pyeongang area, Gangwon-do (16세기 후반 강원도 평강지역의 매사냥 실태와 그 성격 - 오희문(吳希文)의 『 尾錄』을 중심으로 -)

  • Historically, hawking/falconry refer to the hunting for pheasants, birds and hares using a hawk. In spite of its long history, not so many studies were found and/or have been performed. Examining researches, hawking has been enjoyed solely by the royal families until the early Joseon Dynasty but it has been popularly spread among the people in the 18th century, emphasizing recreational factors of it. The researches, however, dealt only with the limited data published by the government while a diary, Swaemirok written by Oh Hi-Mun, an intellectual in the 16th century noted the realities and characteristics of hawking at that time. According to the diary, hawking has been spread all over the country in the 16th century and the people as well as the royal families enjoyed it. The hawking season has been continued for a year except for summertime trees and plants grow thick. For the hawking, they need to be permitted officially or under a tacit consent. In those days, beef and pork are very rare. A peasant acted as, therefore, an excellent alternative and was served up for a religious service. In view of the truth, it could be stated that peasant-hawking was important for recreational activities as well as for their living.

  • 최근 낙동강 하구는 35년만에 기수 생태 복원을 본격화하는 다양한 노력과 연구가 진행되고 있다. 또한, 하구에 접해 있는 낙동강 1지류인 서낙동강 수질개선을 위한 물순환 연구도 진행되고 있다. 하지만 하구에 다양한 물관리기관이 혼재하여 유기적인 물관리가 미흡하고, 이해관계자(농민, 어민, 시민단체, 지자체 등)간에 이견도 다양하다. 서낙동강의 "수량-수질-생태" 관리의 효율성을 확보하기 위한 다양한 물관리기관의 물정보 통합관리가 필요하며, 시스템과 수치모형을 구성하여 예측 분석후 수질 및 수질특성을 실측기반을 통해 검보정으로 모형의 정확성을 높이고, 지속적인 유역내 수리적 흐름과 수질개선할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 서낙동강유역 소유역(33개)로 강우-유출 HSPF 모형으로 유량과 오염부하량을 소유역 15개의 하천에 수리·수질 EFDC 모형 입력자료로 반영되어 계산된다. 모형의 검증을 위해 본류 대저수문 15km 지점(서낙동강 유입부)에 수문개방을 통해 서낙동강 농업용수와 수질개선 유량공급시에 ADCP를 활용하여 대저수문을 포함하여 4개소에 유속과 측정 유량을 산정하여 모형 검보정에 활용하였다. 본 연구결과는 복잡한 하천구성(서낙동강, 평강천, 맥도강, 조만강, 지류하천 등) 및 수리구조물 운영과 수리-수질(염분 포함) 분석 필요성 등을 고려하여 기 구축된 낙동강 하구 통합물관리시스템 수문데이터와 연동되어 향후 서낙동강 물순환 연구에 활용이 될 것으로 기대가 된다.

Formative Age and Process on Basalt of Lava Plateau in the Cheolwon and Yeoncheon Areas, Central Korea (철원 및 연천 지역 용암대지 현무암의 형성 시기 및 형성 과정)

  • The Cheolwon-Pyeonggang Lava Plateau on the Chugaryeong tectonic valley is one of the most extensive volcanic areas in central Korea. However, formative age and process of the plateau still remains a controversial issue. This study presented OSL ages on the upper and lower sedimentary layers of basalt from four sites in the Cheolwon and Yeoncheon areas and estimated age and process of plateau formation based on sedimentary- and chrono-stratigraphy and topographic analysis. The results suggested that most of the initial topography of the plateau on the Cheolwon and Yeoncheon areas had been almost completed before approximately 90 ka. However, the last lava flow around Jangheung-ri, Cheolwon, seemed to occur until 20-30 ka and had led to complete the present plateau, while the last lava flow in the Jeongok area, Yeoncheon, was estimated to occur at approximately 40 ka.

A Study on the Perception of Grand Canal Heritage Visitors Based on Web Text Analysis:The Pingjiang Historical and Cultural District of Suzhou City as an example (인터넷 텍스트분석을 통한 대운하 유산 관광객 인식에 관한연구 : 소주시 평강역사 문화거리를 예로 들다)

  • This paper takes the Pingjiang historical and cultural district of Suzhou city as an example, collects 1439 visitor review data from Ctrip.com with the help of Python technology, and uses web text analysis to conduct research on high-frequency words, semantic networks and emotional tendencies to comprehensively assess the tourist perception of the Grand Canal heritage. The study found that: natural and humanistic landscape, historical and cultural accumulation, and the style of Jiangnan Canal are fully reflected in the tourists' perception of Pingjiang historical and cultural district; tourists hold strong positive emotion towards Pingjiang Road, however, there is still more room for renovation and improvement of the historical and cultural district. Finally, countermeasure suggestions for improving the tourist perception of the Grand Canal heritage are given in terms of protection first, cultural integration and innovative utilization.

Impact of Mesh Size Difference on Zooplankton Distribution Data and Community Interpretation (망목 크기가 동물플랑크톤 분포 자료 및 군집해석에 미치는 영향)

  • We compared two different zooplankton data sets simultaneously obtained at the same place with different mesh-sized nets. Smaller mesh-sized net yielded less diverse zooplankton taxa. However, it was difficult to generalize the relationship between the size of the mesh of the net used and the length of the species list observed. It was not only because the sample sizes obtained by smaller mesh net were relatively smaller due to the clogging problem but also because smaller mesh net usually collected more tiny animals that were difficult to identify at lower taxonomic categories. In terms of abundances, on the other hand, the smaller and the larger mesh-sized nets collected smaller and larger-sized animals more effectively, respectively. The abundances of small sized animals were usually greater than those of large-sized animals by about an order of differences. Due to this different catchability of the nets, the community analyses based on Principal Component Analysis led to different results for the same community.

  • The number of CCTV units is rapidly increasing annually, and the demand for intelligent video-analytics system is also increasing continuously for the effective monitoring of them. The existing analytics engines, however, require considerable computing resources and cannot provide a sufficient detection accuracy. For this paper, a light analytics engine was employed to analyze video and we collected metadata, such as an object's location and size, and the dwell time from the engine. A further data analysis was then performed to filter out the target of interest; as a result, it was possible to verify that a light engine and the heavy data analytics of the metadata from that engine can reject an enormous amount of environmental noise to extract the target of interest effectively. The result of this research is expected to contribute to the development of active intelligent-monitoring systems for the future.

The Development of Synthetic Unit Hydrograph Suitable to the Hydrologic Characteristics in Korea (국내 수문특성에 적합한 합성단위도의 개발)

  • Generally, the synthetic unit hydrograph method is presented to estimate the design flood in the ungaged watershed. However, due to the lack of rainfall-runoff data, the models developed in other countries such as U.S.A. and Japan have been widely used in Korea. Therefore, it may be essential to develope the rainfall-runoff model suitable for the hydrological char-acteristics in Korea. In this study, the representative unit hydrographs are derived from rainfall-runoff data at 19 basins in Selma-Cheon and 3-IHP experimental watersheds using ridge-regression method and Nash model. And a new synthetic unit hydrograph for Korea is suggested by integrating the described results and previous studies on unit hydrograph. The newly developed method is represented as two regression forms with three independent variables of watershed area, channel length, and channel slope by multiple regression analysis is carried out for each watershed, the coefficients of determination are not improved in all cases compared out for each watershed, the coefficients of determination are not improved n all cased the synthetic unit hydrograph for each watershed. Therefore, when the new method is applied to some watersheds, the result analyzed for all data has to be used.

Geology and Ore Deposit of the Apdong Nb-Ta Mine, North Korea (북한 압동 니오븀-탄탈륨(Nb-Ta) 광산의 지질 및 광상)

  • The geology of the Apdong Nb-Ta deposit, is hosted by alkali metasomatites, consist of Upper Proterozoic sedimentary rocks, alkali syenites(Hoamsan intrusive) of Phyonggang Complex(late Paleozoic to early Mesozoic), Jurassic granite and Quaternary basalt. Alkali syenites are distinguished as alkali amphibole-pyroxene syenite, alkali amphibole-biotite syenite, biotite-nepheline syenite, biotite syenite, and quartz-alkali amphibole-pyroxene syenite. Alkali metasomatites are the products of intense post-magnatic metasomatism, and form the Nb-Ta ore bodies as the belt, irregular vein and lenticular types in the southern part of Hoamsan intrusive. The ore mineralization is characterized by the occurrence of pyrochlore, zircon, and small amounts of columbite, fergusonite. magnetite, fluorite, molybdenite, ilmenite, titanite, apatite, and monazite. Pyrochlore is one of the niobium/tantalum oxides and contains substantial amounts of rare earths and radioactive elements. The compositional varieties of pyrochlore can be defined: (1) enriched in tantalum, uranium and cerium, (2) substantially tantalum- and fluorine-poor, and (3) enriched in thorium or barium. The geochemical characteristics, ore textures and mineral occurrences indicate that alkali metasomatism of the mineralizing fluid was the dominant ore-forming process.

Verification Experiment of a Water-to-air Ground Source Multi-heat Pump System (물-공기 지열 멀티형 열펌프 시스템 실증연구)

  • The aim of this study is to verify the performance of water-to-air multi-heat pump system with a vertical U-tube GLHX(U-tube system) and a double tube GLHX(double tube system), which were installed in a school building located in Asan. For analyzing the performance of the GSHP system, we monitored various operating da~ including the water temperature of inlet and outlet of the ground heat exchanger, mass flow rate, and power consumption. Daily average COP of the single U-tube system and the double tube system were 4.5 and 4.2 at cooling mode and were 3.5 and 3.8 at heating mode. As a result, We know that performance of water-to-air multi-heat pump unit is reliable at actual condition operated in a part load conditions for all day.

Analysis of evapotranspiration in the Imjin River Basin (임진강 유역의 증발산량 분석)

  • 유역의 증발산량 자료는 물순환 과정을 규명하는 매우 중요한 자료 중의 하나이며, 물순환 성분별 명확한 산정 결과는 수자원 개발과 물환경 보전에 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 임진강 유역(유역출구(한강합류점) 기준, 유역면적 8,138.9km2)을 대상으로 5개년(2018~2022) 기상관측자료를 이용하여 증발산량을 산정하였으며, 그 외의 수문관측자료를 통해 물수지 분석도 수행하였다. 증발산량 산정은 세계식량기구(FAO)에서 제시한 Penman-Monteith equation을 적용하여 일별증발산량을 산정하였으며, 작물의 종류에 따른 계수는 잔디의 경우를 채택하였다. 본 방정식을 통해 산정된 증발산량(ETo)은 기준작물에 수분의 공급에 제한이 없는 상황에서 산정된 기준 증발산량(reference evapotranspiration)을 의미하며, 기준 증발산량을 실제 증발산량으로 변환하기 위해서는 작물계수를 고려해야 한다. 작물계수는 식생의 높이, 알베도, 식생의 저항, 토양으로부터의 증발 등의 영향을 받게 되나, 더욱더 명확하게는 식물에서의 증산을 설명하는 기본 작물계수와 토양에서의 증발을 설명하는 토양계수의 합을 통해 계수를 산정하게 된다. 임진강 유역에 공간적으로 분포된 작물계수를 정확히 산정하기에는 한계가 있으므로 잔디의 경우로 한정하여 산정된 기준 증발량은 833.0mm(5개년 평균값)이다. 각 물순환 성분별로 생성된 임진강 유역의 5개년 평균값인 유역평균강우량은 1,412.9mm이며, 하천유출량은 804.9mm(유역평균강우량 대비 57.0%), 실제 증발산량은 442.3mm(유역평균강우량 대비 31.3%, 기준 증발산량 대비 약 53.0%), 유역저류량은 165.7mm(유역평균강우량 대비 11.7%)이다. 유역평균강우량은 8개 관측소(양덕, 원산, 신계, 개성, 평강, 철원, 동두천, 파주) 강우량의 유역평균값이며, 하천유출량은 유역출구의 상류 관측소인 비룡대교 관측소(유역면적 6,784.0km2) 유출량의 유역면적비 적용값이다. 실제 증발산량은 기준 증발산량 산정값에 해당 유역내 존재하는 설마천 유역의 기준 증발산량과 실제 증발산량 비율(약 53.0%)을 적용한 값이며, 유역저류량은 전제적인 물수지 분석을 통해 얻어진 추정값이다. 이와 같이 산정된 물순환 성분별 자료는 유역의 물순환 과정 규명을 위한 기초자료로 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있으며, 유역 물관리를 위한 의사결정 과정에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
