  • 본 고에서는 캐릭터 애니메이션을 위한 다면체 모델링 시스템에 대한 기술동향을 분석한다. 이를 위해 다면체 모델링을 지원하는 상용 캐릭터 애니메이션 소프트웨어들에 대한 최신 동향 및 이들 중 현재 고가와 중저가 시장을 주도하고 있는 Alias/Wavefront Maya 1.0 Kinetix 3D Studio Max 2.5를 중심으로 다면체 모델링 기능들을 분석하고 성능평가를 한다. 특히 기능분석에 앞서 두 시스템의 구현 개념을 살펴봄으로써 두 시스템의 다면체 모델링 기능과 더불어 전체적인 성능에 대해서도 분석한다. 이는 다면체 모델링 기능이 단순히 독립되어 구현될 수 있는 것이 아니라 전체 캐릭터 애니메이션 소프트웨어의 구조적인 구성과 밀접한 관련을 가지기 때문이다. 마지막으로 본 고는 두 상용 시스템에 대한 다면체 모델링 기능별 분류 및 그 성능평가에 대해서 벤치마킹 표로 요약. 제시하며 끝을 맺는다.

  • The clinical assessment of a patient with a cerebral lesion is not easy to physicians. Extensive neuropsycho-logical tests often need both skilled experience and some special tools. Some bedside tests equally provide valuable clues to localize cerebral lesion, when a clinician knows functional anatomy of cerebral hemisphere. In this article, several techniques used to evaluate cerebral cortical function will be introduced.

  • 최근 제품이나 서비스를 기획할 때, 사용자 경험 (User Experience)의 측면에 대한 고려를 해야 한다는 이야기가 많아지고 있다. 이는 기능이나 성능을 결정할 때 기능 추가, 몇 %의 성능 상승같이 좁은 방법으로 제품이나 서비스의 기획의 방향을 결정하는 것이 아니라, 사용자가 그 기능이나 성능에서 대해서 어떻게 느끼고, 기능이나 성능을 통해서 어떤 경험을 했는지에 대한 전반적인 고려가 필요하다는 것을 여러 분야에서 공감하고 있다는 증거라 하겠다. 그러나 사용자 경험이라는 개념이 명확하게 정의되어 있지 않고, 그에 대한 실증적인 연구가 부족하여, 더 나은 사용자 경험을 제공하기 위해서 어떤 노력이 필요한지에 대해서 명확하고 쉽게 파악하기 어려운 실정이다. 기존의 HCI 분야에서는 제품이나 서비스를 평가할 때 사용성 (Usability)에 초점을 맞추어서 사용성 평가 (Usability Testing)를 통해서 정량적으로 문제점을 조사하는 방법론에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어졌다. 그러나 이러한 사용성 평가 는 사용자들의 과업 수행 시간, 과업 수행 여부 등 사용자들이 제품이나 서비스를 통해서 진행하는 결과에 대한 성능 (Performance)에 주목하고 있어서 전반적인 사용자 경험을 중요시하는 현재 HCI 가 가야 할 방향과 현업의 필요와는 부합하지 않는다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 심층 인터뷰를 통해서 사용자에게 제품 경험에 있어서 중요한 요소를 찾아내고, 각 요소를 이용하여 제품에 대한 사용자의 전반적인 경험을 설문으로 물어본 후 구조방정식 모형분석을 통하여 각 경험 요소의 가중치를 도출하였다. 또한 이러한 가중치를 바탕으로 핸드폰, MP3 플레이어, LCD TV, 냉장고의 실제 제품 평가에 적용하여 사용자 경험을 바탕으로 한 제품 평가를 진행하였다. 또한 이러한 방법론을 한국뿐만 아니라 러시아, 독일, 인도의 사용자들에게도 같은 방식으로 진행하여 실증적으로 본 연구에서 개발된 방법론이 가능한지 여부를 확인하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to imply for the assessing framework of next generation Enterprise Portals'(EPs) function through the lens of organizational knowledge creation. As the emerging "suite" products such as Smart Enterprise Suite (SES) converges EPs with collaboration and content management, EPs are no longer just a gateway to information and content. EPs are emerging as the center of convergence for many complementary technologies. Considering that this trend is common and knowledge creation is one of key goals of EPs, it is important to assess EPs' function through the knowledge creation process. This paper reviews literatures to set initial assessing elements of EPs' function, then adopts Delphi Technique to prove and categorize the elements according to the knowledge creation process. The samples are consisted of 7 professional knowledge management consultants at Entrue Consulting Partners, LG CNS. This paper may be significant in providing a new vision to the evaluation of EPs by combining a theoretical model with a practical situation.

  • The most important point in the QoS management system to ensure the quality of the IoT system design goal is quality measurement system and the quality evaluation system. This research study is a matrix model for the IoT based on key quality measures by diagnosis system structure and function. Developing for the quality metrics measured Internet of Things environment will provide the foundation for the Internet of Things quality measurement/analysis. IoT matrix system for quality evaluation is a method to describe the functional requirements and the quality requirements in a single unified table for quality estimation performed. Comprehensive functional requirements and quality requirements by assessing the association can improve the reliability and usability evaluation. When applying the proposed method IoT quality can be improved while reducing the QoS signaling, the processing, the basis for more efficient quality assurances as a whole.

  • Advanced safety vehicle (ASV) equipped with intelligent drivers advisory functions for controlling vehicle to follow the lead vehicle and/or warning drivers on forward traffic impediments according to the roadway and traffic circumstances has been recently developed and on the market internationally. Standardization processes for ASV system functions have been issued in IS0/TC204 Working Group 14 (Vehicle/Roadway Warning and Control System) since 1995. Research projects developing test and evaluation technologies for ASV in establishing safety standards and/or conformity related to the national roadway and traffic circumstances are under study internationally. In Korea, an integrated test and evaluation Program was developed for the assessment of adaptive cruise control (ACC) system under the ITS research and development projects funded by the Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT). This paper demonstrates the integrated test and evaluation Programs for ACC system based on the draft international standard with related to the domestic roadway and traffic conditions. Field tests fulfilled under the scenarios based on the integrated test & evaluation programs for ACC system are discussed along with a review of earlier research work regarding international standards and the safety regulations.

Safety Evaluation of Flashing Yellow Operation at Night (야간 황색점멸신호 운영에 따른 안전성 평가)

  • This study deals with the relationships between flashing operation and traffic accident at signalized intersections. The objective of this study is to analyze safety effects of the yellow flashing operation at night. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular attention to evaluating the safety results from signal operation of Cheongju's 190 signalized intersections using before-after evaluation with comparison group that are categorized by highway function. The main results are as follow. First, the numbers of traffic accidents and of fatalities/injuries in two highway types (arterial and collector road) have increased after operating the yellow flashing signal at night. Second, the numbers of accidents, fatalities/injuries, severe accidents and of fatalities/severe injuries in group A(arterial) have increased by 19%, 36%, 15% and 14%, respectively. Finally, the numbers of accidents, fatalities/injuries, severe accidents and fatalities/severe injuries in group B (collector) have increased by 50%, 64%, 41% and 77%, respectively.

  • For the purpose of antibacterial and photocatalystic deodorization functions, the papermaking inorganic fillers and pigments were surface-modified with Ag nano-colloidal solution and $TiO_2$ by using the hybridization technique. The functional specialty sheets and coating papers were produced with the surface-modified fillers and pigments, and evaluated by halo test and inhibition growth test in their antibacterial and photocatalystic characteristics. For the application of specially produced antibacterial handsheet to the wallpaper usages, the photocatalyst efficiency test of benzene in volatile organic compound dissolution experiment of antibacterial and deodorization function wallpaper showed that the efficiency was 45~50% for 80 min of reaction time and 90% of attained resolution was reached at approximately 30 min of response time.

Ninth Graders' Self-Assessment of Scientific Process Skills in Open Investigation (중학교 3학년 학생들의 개방적 탐구에서 과학적 탐구과정기능에 대한 자기평가 수행분석)

  • Understanding the students' ability and tendency of self assessment is one of the important factors in helping their learning and in giving the appropriate feedbacks. The purposes of this study is to analyse the coincidency of the students' self-assessment with the teacher assessment, and the tendency of over and under estimation. The students performed open investigations and assessed their process skills by checking their investigation reports with a given checklist. The total mean of the 'Self-Assessment Capability(SAC)' was 0.73 by 1. The SAC was related to the achievement, not to the gender. The correlation between SAC and achievement was significantly positive(r=0.7, p<.01), and for the girls, the tendency was remarkable. Among the five areas of process skills of open investigation, students got the highest SAC score in the managing and interpreting data area, and the lowest SAC in the drawing conclusion area. The mean of 'Self-Assessment Tendency(SAT)' for all items showed that students overestimated their process skills. While the high achievement students underestimated their process skills, the middle and low showed the tendency of overestimation.

Usability Test of Serious Game Robot App for Hospitalized Children (입원 아동 환자를 위한 로봇용 기능성 게임 앱 사용성 평가)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the usability of serious-game apps for robots that are being developed for hospitals to add familiarity to hospital life for hospitalized patients. We conducted a usability test of 10 experts and 12 elementary school students with inpatient experience. The usability evaluation of the developed apps was based on the professional (MARS) evaluation tool and the user (uMARS) evaluation tool. The results of the usability test of the serious game robot app were $3.67{\pm}0.342$ for professionals and $3.68{\pm}0.592$ for children. The expert group obtained the highest score in the aesthetics category, and the user group obtained the highest score in the functionality category. In the subjective comments, the experts pointed out the game layout and the consistency of the style. According to the children, the methods were easy to learn, and the screen movement was mainly described. Both groups received low ratings in terms of engagement through participation. This study will provide useful reference material when the functional game app is actually installed in the robot and the usability test is conducted again after the results obtained in this study are considered.
