Absolute Sonar Position on Side Scan Sonar Data Processing (Side Scan Sonar 자료처리에서 수중예인체의 절대위치)

  • For the seafloor acoustic image mapping of side scan sonar, the beginning step of the procedure is to fix the absolute sonar (tow-fish) position since the sonar is not hull mounted but towed astern. The technical algorithm used to calculate the actual sonar position without any other additional sub-system, i.e., the underwater acoustic position tracking system or the sonar attitude measuring device, was proposed. In the seafloor image mosaic mapping results using the sonar track (not ship track) developed in this study, any ambiguity or inconsistency of seafloor features was not found. The incidental effect from the sonar position determination procedure orients the towing direction of sonar to be smooth, consequently the swath pattern on the across-track direction becomes stable and the blanking phenomenon of the insonification area is reduced conspicuously. This technical method is considered to be an useful tool when applied toother underwater towing vehicle surveys.

  • 고성능 재구성형 어레이 아키텍처는 애플리케이션에 내재된 병렬성을 충분히 활용하도록 풍부한 하드웨어 리소스로 구성되어 있다. 이러한 하드웨어 리소스는 소프트웨어 파이프라이닝 기반 코드할당 기법을 통하여 사용된다. 이러한 코드할당 기법은 기존의 소프트웨어 파이프라이닝 기법에 FPGA 에서의 라우팅 & 위치선정기법이 연결된 형식으로 구성된다. 이러한 기존의 연구들은 데이터 흐름 (data flow)을 단순한 형태로 가정하여 개발되었다. 따라서 루프 코드 펼침 (loop unrolling)에 따라서 발생되는 데이터 복사에 의한 흐름 (copy flow)은 코드 매핑할 때 고려하지 않기 때문에 소프트웨어 파이프라이닝 적용시 네트웍 리소스의 중복사용으로 인한 데이터 충돌문제(data congestion)로 Minimum Initiation Interval (MII)증가에 따르는 성능 저하가 발생할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 데이터 복사 흐름까지 고려하도록 데이터 의존도 그래프 (Data Dependence Graph, DDG)를 확장하여 스케쥴링 단계에서 데이터 충돌 지연에 의한 MII 증가를 방지하여 최적의 시스템 성능을 얻도록 코드 할당 기법을 개발하였다.

Effective Gray-white Matter Segmentation Method based on Physical Contrast Enhancement in an MR Brain Images (MR 뇌 영상에서 물리기반 영상 개선 작업을 통한 효율적인 회백질 경계 검출 방법)

  • In medical image processing field, object recognition is usually carried out by computerized processing of various input information such as brightness, shape, and pattern. If the information mentioned does not make sense, however, many limitations could occur with object recognition during computer processing. Therefore, this paper suggests effective object recognition method based on the magnetic resonance (MR) theory to resolve the basic limitations in computer processing. We propose the efficient method of robust gray-white matter segmentation by texture analysis through the Susceptibility Weighted Imaging (SWI) for contrast enhancement. As a result, an average area difference of 5.2%, which was higher than the accuracy of conventional region segmentation algorithm, was obtained.

An Aerodynamic Modeling and Simulation of a Folding Tandem Wing Type Aerial Launching UAV (접이식 직렬날개형 공중투하 무인비행체의 공력 모델링 및 시뮬레이션)

  • The aerial launching UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) mainly uses a set of folding tandem wings to maximize flight performance and minimize the space required for mounting in a mothership. This folding tandem wing has a unique aerodynamic problem that is different from the general type of fixed wing aircraft, such as the rear wing interference problem caused by the wing of the front wing wake and vortex, and the imbalance of the pivot moment applied to the front and rear wings when the wing is deployed. In this paper, we have modeled and simulated various cases through computational fluid dynamics based on the finite volume method and analyzed various aerodynamic phenomena of the tandem wing type aircraft. We find that the front wing shall be installed higher than the rear for minimizing the wake influence and the rear wing can be deployed faster than the front because of the pivot moment due to aerodynamic forces. Also, considering the pivot moment due to aerodynamic force, the rear wing can be deployed much faster than the front wing. Therefore, it is necessary to consider it when developing the wing deploy mechanism.
