The frictional capacity of auger-cast piles is often very small because of the disturbance of the soil surrounding the pile during the excavation process. Usage of expansive agents and a pressurized injection technique for auger-cast piles should improve the frictional resistance between pile and soil. This paper presents the test results of auger-cast model piles installed with expansive mortar in laboratory compacted weathered soil. The model piles were installed in a calibration chamber with a variation in the amount of expansive agent, the injection process and the chamber pressure. It was observed that the pile shaft resistance increases with the increased amount of expansive agent, and also increases when mortar is pressure injected. The shaft resistance increased up to 24% for the pile installed only with expansive mortar and increased up to 56% for the pile installed with the pressurized injection of expansive mortar, compared with that of piles with plain mortar.
The ratios of water and controlled low-strength materials (CLSM) were selected as 1:0.4, 1:0.6, 1:0.8, 1:1.0, and 1:1.2 to minimize the construction and long-term decrease in uniaxial compressive strength due to dry shrinkage through the combination of water, CLSM, and expansion agent. Approximately 2% and 5% of the expansion agent were added for each blending condition. As a result, it was found that the compressive strength decreased and the expandability increased as the specific gravity of the water increased. In addition, it was confirmed that the compressive strength increased rapidly up to 15 days of age compared to the CLSM used in the field. However, the compressive strength decreased compared to the 15 days of the age as of the 28 days of the age. It showed engineering characteristics similar to CLSM generally used in the field. Therefore, the water and the CLSM were mixed at a ratio of 1:0.8, and the field test was performed by adding 5% of an expansion agent. As a result, 28 days after age, the cavity waveform was observed using the handy GPR exploration system, and it was found that cavity waveform was relaxed or disappeared.
Innopolis start-up has become a representative model and path for commercialization of public technology. Along with the quantitative growth of innopolis start-up, the importance of innopolis start-up in national policies and institutional strategies related to public technology commercialization has also increased. However, over the past 16 years, innopolis start-up's establishment and growth have taken place in different ways at different times. This study aims to compare and analyze changes in innopolis start-up over the past 16 years, focusing on comparisons before and after 2014, when the establishment of innopolis start-up began to increase rapidly. Main findings are as follows. First, in the early stage of the quantitative expansion period, policy changes related to innopolis start-up were the main factors for the increase in innopolis start-ups. In addition, the rapid increase in the establishment of innopolis start-up after 2016 was largely influenced by changes in the start-up environment and institutional changes related to innopolis start-up. Second, the time of registration and size of the capital of innopolis start-up had a statistically significant effect on the sales for 3 years after registration. This result shows that with the rapid increase in innopolis start-ups, the need to build a customized support system for innopolis start-ups by size or growth stage has increased.

The Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) is influenced by environmental factors, making analysis in the installation region important. This study has proposed the sigma inflation of the B-value considering the satellite elevation angle and analyzed the Vertical Protection Level (VPL) of the H1 hypothesis. After collecting data that meet the environmental conditions of the installation region, sigma expansion coefficients by the unit of satellite elevation angle ($5^{\circ}$) have been estimated. The obtained results were functionalized through curve-fitting, and sigma inflation customized for the environmental conditions of the test region was proposed. Then, the characteristics were classified and analyzed depending on humidity and solar activities. According to the sigma inflation with respect to elevation angle analysis, changes in the size of sigma inflation factors by the difference of humidity were minor. However, the VPL under the satellite elevation angle-based sigma inflation met integrity. Also, considering the sigma inflation factor with respect to elevation angle, compared to existing methods, high-integrity and improved availability is confirmed by removing unnecessary margins in high elevation angle satellite.

Distinct Element Method(DEM) has a great advantage to model the discontinuous behaviour of jointed rock masses such as rotation, sliding, and separation of rock blocks. Geometrical data of joints by a field monitoring is not enough to model the jointed rock mass though the results of DE analysis for the jointed rock mass is most sensitive to the distributional properties of joints. Also, it is important to use a properly joint law in evaluating the stability of a jointed rock mass because the joint is considered as the contact between blocks in DEM. In this study, a stochastic modelling technique is developed and the dilatant rock joint is numerically modelled in order to consider th geometrical and mechanical properties of joints in DE analysis. The stochastic modelling technique provides a assemblage of rock blocks by reproducing the joint distribution from insufficient joint data. Numerical Modelling of joint dilatancy in a edge-edge contact of DEM enable to consider not only mechanical properties but also various boundary conditions of joint. Preprocess Procedure for a stochastic DE model is composed of a statistical process of raw data of joints, a joint generation, and a block boundary generation. This stochastic DE model is used to analyze the effect of deviations of geometrical joint parameters on .the behaviour of jointed rock masses. This modelling method may be one tool for the consistency of DE analysis because it keeps the objectivity of the numerical model. In the joint constitutive law with a dilatancy, the normal and shear behaviour of a joint are fully coupled due to dilatation. It is easy to quantify the input Parameters used in the joint law from laboratory tests. The boundary effect on the behaviour of a joint is verified from shear tests under CNL and CNS using the numerical model of a single joint. The numerical model developed is applied to jointed rock masses to evaluate the effect of joint dilation on tunnel stability.

A new tunnel auxiliary method is proposed in this paper which utilizes the concept of cavity expansion for tuunel reinforcement by forming an umbrella arch on the roof of tunnel. When an inflatable pipe is inserted and expanded by pressure in the bore hole of umbrella arch, the ground around the bore hole can be compacted so that the stress condition above the tunnel perimeter is favorably changed. In order to verify the reinforcement effect of new concept, pilot-scale chamber test, trapdoor test and numerical analysis were performed and compared. In pilot-scale chamber test, three types of inflatable pipes are tested to verify the capability of expansion, and the results arc compared with analytical results obtained by applying cavity expansion theory and with results obtained from finite clement analysis, and the experimental results showed agreeable matches with analytical and numerical ones. Numerical analysis of a tunnel and trapdoor test applied with the inflatable pipes are also performed to figure out the reinforcement effect of the proposed techniques, and the results implied that the new method with 3 directional inflatable pipe (no pressure to downward direction) can contribute to reduce tunnel convergence and face settlement.

Chronic expanding hematoma of the thorax is a specific subtype of the chronic empyema. It presents as a slowly expanding intrathoracic mass which result in dyspnea or recurrent hemoptysis. The symptoms develop months or years after tuberculous pleurisy, trauma or surgery. Usually, it shows three common findings: a giant mass lesion in the thorax, some surrounding calcifications, the absence of signs or symptoms of infection. We report a case of chronic expanding hematoma of the thorax, initially presenting as massive hemoptysis through bronchopleural fistula which resulted in radiologic findings of new air-fluid level within the previous pleural lesion filled with unknown materials.
Acquired tracheobronchial stenosis has resulted from vehicular accidents, prolonged tracheal intubation, sleeve resection, tuberculosis and sarcodosis. Various modalities of therapy for the relief of such stenosis included surgery, cryotherapy, laser photoresection, and sometimes balloon dilatation. Several recent reports have described the use of self-expandable metal stents for the dilatation of stenotic areas in the tracheobronchial tree. Three patients of benign acquired tracheobronchial stenosis were treated with self-expandable metal stents, who had shown little response to several times of balloon dilatations; One patient had a tracheal stenosis caused by intubation, one a right main bronchial stenosis developed after reconstructive surgery of traumatic bronchial rupture, and the other a left main bronchial stenosis caused by longstanding endobronchial tuberculosis. We found that the using stent in benign acquired tracheobronchial stenosis can be effectively performed with alleviation of clinical symptoms and lung function. And even in longstanding localized stenosis of main bronchus without distal bronchial destruction, lung perfusion also improved.
