A Study on the Effect of Body Satisfaction and Self-efficacy on Appearance Management Behavior and Fashion Consumption Behavior -Focusing on Female College Students in the Dalian Region of China- (신체만족도, 자기효능감이 외모관리행동 및 패션소비행동에 미치는 연구 -중국의 대련(大连) 지역의 여대생을 중심으로-)

  • Currently, fashion consumption is gradually increasing among female consumers, and fashion consumption behavior is affected by many factors. The purpose of this study is to analyze Chinese female college students' physical satisfaction and self-efficacy to find out and analyze how they affect appearance management behavior and fashion consumption behavior, thereby providing information for fashion-related industries marketing strategies and new product development. This study distributed a questionnaire to female college students, and the collected 713 copies were subjected to empirical analysis using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0. The analysis results are as follows. First, body satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on self-efficacy. Second, body satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on appearance management behavior. Third, self-efficacy was found to have a positive effect on appearance management behavior. Fourth, as a result of the analysis of the effect of appearance management behavior on fashion consumption behavior, it was found that appearance management behavior had a positive effect on ostentatious consumption, impulsive consumption, and practical consumption.

  • 기술적 혁신과는 달리 상징적 혁신(symbolic innovation)은 기존 제품에 부가된 사회적 의미가 변화함으로서 창조된다. 따라서, 상징적 혁신에서 새로운 사회적 의미와 관련된 속성은 기능적 속성만큼이나 중요하다. 본 연구는 상징적 혁신의 대표적인 의류제품을 이용, 패션혁신행동에 영향을 미치는 인지된 혁신속성(perceived innovation attributes)을 구별하고, 패션혁신행동의 두 유형(구매와 사용)에 미치는 이러한 속성의 영향을 고찰하였다. 대학생 집단을 표본으로 이용, 설문지 조사를 통해 수집된 515부의 응답지가 분석되었다. 인지된 혁신 속성은 유사성(compatibility), 기능적 상대적 잇점, 사회적 상대적 잇점, 인지된 위험으로 구분되었다. 의복흥미가 구매와 사용 두 측면의 패션혁신행동에 영향을 주었으나 인지된 혁신속성은 사용측면에만 영향을 주었다. 유사성과 기능적 상대적 잇점이 사용혁신행동에 긍정적 영향을, 인지된 위험이 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 혁신속성이 영향을 미치지 않은 반면 의류소비정도가 구매혁신에 영향을 주었다. 본 연구의 결과는 사용혁신성이 높은 소비자는 구매혁신성이 높은 소비자보다 혁신속성의 평가에 더 관여한다는 것을 시사한다.

  • 본 논문은 모바일 패션 쇼핑의 소비자 행동을 설명하기 위해 모바일 패션소비자의 유행선도력(유행선도성향, 의견선도성향, 선도잠재성향)과 모바일 상거래 특성(모바일 편재성, 모바일 개인화, 모바일 위치성)을 패션 수용상황에 적합한 기술수용 관점에서 관련성을 제시하여 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 본 조사는 모바일 인터넷 서비스 및 커머스를 1회 이상 이용해 본 경험이 있는 패션 소비자 406명을 자료 분석에 사용하였으며, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 패션소비자의 유행선도력의 유행선도성향과 선도잠재성향은 지각된 가치에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 패션소비자의 모바일 상거래 특성의 편재성은 지각된 가치와 지각된 유용성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 모바일 패션커머스에 대한 지각된 가치는 지각된 유용성과 수용태도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 모바일 패션커머스에 대한 지각된 유용성은 수용태도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 모바일 패션커머스에 대한 지각된 신뢰는 지각된 유용성과 수용태도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과로 패션 소비자의 유행선도력과 모바일 상거래 특성이 패션 모바일 커머스를 확산하는 능력을 지녔음을 제시한다. 또한 기존 연구에서의 패션상품 구매의도 형성요인들과 통합할 경우, 보다 설명력 있는 확장된 혁신수용 모델이 개발될 것으로 예상된다.

Preferences for Fashion Jewelry Depending on Consumption Value (소비가치에 따른 패션주얼리의 선호도)

  • This study aimed to analyze preferences depending on consumption value in relation to fashion jewelry design, colors, and materials. For this, 156 female consumers participated in it as subjects, and for a research tool of consumption value, VALS (Values and Life Style) technique was employed to make an empirical analysis by dividing it into three types such as principle-oriented value, status-oriented value and behavior-oriented value. Research findings indicate that above all, there are differences in preferences depending on characteristics of fashion jewelry design depending on consumption value. It was found that there are differences in preferences depending on numbers of setting of fashion jewelry depending on consumption value, but it was found that there are no differences in preferences depending on jewelry materials. In addition, it was observed that for color characteristics of fashion jewelry, there are differences in preferences depending on consumption value. There are differences in preferences for fashion jewelry depending on consumption value, which indicates that preferences for products change depending on consumers' consumption value rather than use value. And it can be an explanation for this reason. Therefore, it is necessary to work out a more efficient strategy through a process of setting up a target according to consumption value.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the antecedents of the attitudes toward purchasing fast fashion brands. As antecedents, fashion consciousness, eco-fashion consumption decision, ongoing search behavior, and shopping enjoyment were considered. It was hypothesized that fashion consciousness influence the attitudes toward purchasing fast fashion brands both directly and indirectly through eco-fashion consumption decision, ongoing search behavior, and shopping enjoyment. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul, using convenience sampling. Three hundred five questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis using SPSS and confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis using AMOS. The hypothesized relationship test proved that fashion consciousness influences the attitudes toward purchasing fast fashion brands both directly and indirectly through ongoing search behavior and shopping enjoyment. In addition, eco-fashion consumption decision influence directly influences the attitudes toward purchasing fast fashion brands. The results suggest some effective marketing strategies for marketers in the fast fashion industry.

Ethical Fashion Consumer Behavior in Korea - Factors Influencing Ethical Fashion Consumption - (한국에서의 윤리적 패션 소비자 행동 - 윤리적 패션 소비에 영향 미치는 요인을 중심으로 -)

  • Understanding ethical fashion consumers in Korea is essential for the expansion of the ethical fashion market. This study analyzed ethical consumers in Korea in an examination of the factors that influence ethical purchase behavior and attitudes. The differences between ethical fashion consumers and non-ethical fashion consumers were investigated using eight variables (perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE), self-direction, benevolence, universalism, social responsibility, perceived behavioral control, face saving, and group conformity). Data were collected by means of a questionnaire through both on-line and off-line surveys from April 20 to June 7, 2009. Only the respondents knowledgeable of ethical products or ethical consumption were asked to complete the questionnaire. A total of 494 samples were used for analyses. Using independent samples t-test, the differences in each variable between two groups were examined. There were significant differences between ethical fashion consumers and non-ethical fashion consumers in attitudes toward ethical consumption behavior, behavioral intention, PCE, self-direction, universalism, social responsibility, and face saving variables. The factors influencing attitude and behavior intention were investigated by step-wise regression analyses. For ethical fashion consumers, the attitudes to ethical consumption behavior were largely influenced by PCE and benevolence. Social responsibility was the most predictable variable in guiding behavioral intention. Behavioral intention was also influenced by benevolence and attitude. Group conformity was found to be negatively correlated with behavioral intention. The findings of this study provide significant guidance for marketers of ethical fashion products. This study is the start of ethical fashion consumer research in Korea and can develop into variable subfields in the future.

A Comparison of Impulse Buying Behavior and Credit Card Use between Korean and American College Students (한국과 미국대학생의 충동구매행동과 신용카드사용에 대한 비교연구)

  • Consumer's impulse buying behavior is extensive in everyday contexts. Credit cards promote spending by making the transaction simpler and by removing the immediate need for money. College students grown up in a credit card society attain cards at college's time and keep cards for 10 years over. In an effort to extend understanding of consumer behavior across cultures, this paper examines the cultural differences of impulse buying behavior and credit card use between Korean and American college students, and to investigate the relationships between impulse buying behavior and credit card use in each group. Data were obtained from student credit card users attending universities in metropolitan areas in Korea(N=154) and America(N=194). Data were analyzed using by Confirmatory Factor Analysis, MANOVA, MDA, and Regression. The results indicated there are significant differences of fashion-oriented impulse buying and credit card use between American and Korean college students. The impulse buying behavior is likely to increase for both Korean and American students who use credit cards for spending. Findings suggest that credit card use is important in predicting impulse buying behavior across these two cultures. Implications are drawn for the increasing global phenomenon impulse buying behavior and credit card use.
