The idea to conduct this study stemmed from the following question: What is the appropriate interpretation of the recent change in the user behavior of radio listeners? For some terrestrial radio programs, traditional listeners who mainly listen to them real-time through terrestrial radio broadcasting has been outnumbered by those who access them on smartphones and other mobile devices in a nonlinear way outside the pre-scheduled time slots of the programs. In the research, how terrestrial radio listeners use the new service called podcasting to access and consume audio content were examined by using Q methodology. As a result, three different types of user behavior and perception were modeled. This shows a prominent change in radio content use, which is moving away from the conventional user behavior pattern of radio content, one of the key media for mass communication in the 20th century. Such a development opens up new opportunities to create the same or even a greater user base compared to the existing one for terrestrial radio programs with the users' newly gained mobile access and to replace current radio content by using podcasting as a new service.

디지털기술의 발달로 전통적인 의미의 방송들이 통신에 기반한 다양한 매체들로부터 도전받고 있다. 라디오 방송도 예외는 아니어서 라디오방송의 디지털 전환을 논하고 있는 지금 인터넷방송, 팟캐스팅, 스마트폰 앱을 통한 방송 등 다양한 매체들이 라디오방송을 하고 있다. 전파를 통한 지상파 라디오 방송은 아직 우리나라에서 표준이 정해지지 않았지만 디지털 전환을 통해 주파수 효율을 높여 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하게 될 것이고, 통신을 통한 디지털라디오 서비스는 지상파와는 달리 개인화된 맞춤형 서비스를 지향하게 된다. 이 두 가지 방식은 앞으로 차별화된 서비스로 상호 보완 발전해 나갈 것으로 보인다. 본고에서는 전파를 이용한 라디오방송의 디지털화를 위한 방식선정에 고려되어야 할 요소와 특히 방송주파수의 효율적인 활용 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Extensible Markup Language(XML)는 데이터 저장, 웹 서비스, 팟캐스팅, 신디케이션과 같은 분야에서 널리 사용되는 언어이다. XML 문서를 사용하기 위해서는 반드시 XML 문서에 대한 파싱이 이루어져야 하기 때문에 여러 연구들이 제안되었다. 스트림 기반 파서인 Roll-Back Streaming XML(RBStreX) 파서는 파싱의 흐름을 되돌리는 Roll-Back을 제안하였지만, 특정 노드를 검색할 때 발생되는 오버헤드를 해결하지 못하였다. 본 논문에서는 특정 노드에 대한 검색 기능을 지원하는 새로운 구조의 하드웨어 스트리밍 파서를 제안하였고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 하드웨어의 동작 검증을 하였다. 제안된 구조는 RBStreX 파서와 비교하여 소프트웨어 오버헤드가 없으며 하드웨어 사이클도 반 정도로 감소시키는 성능향상을 얻는다.

This study analyzed the characteristics and categories of blog contents from list of blogs in 22 academic libraries in Korea and 11 academic libraries in USA. The findings indicated that the majority of blog contents in domestic libraries are used for announcements, events, and general information while international libraries use professional information and general information evenly. In addition, this study showed the international libraries use the various types of information including podcasts and videocast, and images while domestic libraries use document formats and link types mainly. The results can be used to develop effective and useful contents for academic digital libraries.
