Korean-based color palette creation using deep learning (딥러닝을 활용한 한국어 기반 색상 팔레트 생성)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국어 입력 텍스트의 의미를 반영하는 색상 팔레트를 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 기존 영문 모델에서 한국어의 특수성을 고려하여 입력 방법과 형태소 분석, 임베딩 등 여러 조건을 달리한 접근을 시도하고 최종적으로 두개의 모델을 선정하여 평가를 진행한다. 정량적 평가인 단일 팔레트 다양성 평가와 정성적 평가인 사용자 평가를 진행하였으며 결과 기존 영문 버전보다 다양성이 높았고 사용자가 실제 팔레트 보다 생성된 팔레트를 선호하는 비율도 향상되었다. 이번 연구로 한국어 임베딩을 활용하여 팔레트를 생성하였을 때 보다 다양한 색상과 의미적으로도 적합한 색상을 선정함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Pallet Measurement Method for Automatic Pallet Engaging in Real-Time (자동 화물처리를 위한 실시간 팔레트 측정 방법)

  • A vision-based method for positioning and orienting of pallets is presented in this paper, which guides autonomous forklifts to engage pallets automatically. The method uses a single camera mounted on the fork carriage instead of two cameras for stereo vision that is conventionally used for positioning objects in 3D space. An image back-projection technique for determining the orient of a pallet without any fiducial marks is suggested in tins paper, which projects two feature lines on the front plane of the pallet backward onto a virtual plane that can be rotated around a given axis in 3D space. We show the fact that the rotation angle of the virtual plane on which the back-projected feature lines are parallel can be used to describe the orient of the pallet front plane. The position of the pallet is determined by using ratio of the distance between the back-projected feature lines and their real distance on the pallet front plane. Through a test on real pallet images, we found that the proposed method was applicable to real environment practically in real-time.

An Automatic Engagement Robot System Using Combined Acoustic and Visual Sensors (결합된 음향 및 시각 센서를 사용한 자동 인게즈먼트 로봇 시스템)

  • 비 구조적인 주면 환경에서 평면 팔레트(planar pallet)를 포크리프트(forklift)로 적재하거나 하역하기 위한 물류용 재료운송 로보트 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 음향(acoustic)센서와 시각(visual) 센싱데이타를 사용하여 팔레트에 지정된 2개의 스롯(slot)의 위치를 결정하고 포크리프트를 팔레트의 스롯에 인게즈(engage) 한다. 본 연구에서는 재료운송 시스템의 복잡성을 줄이기 위해서 폴라로이드(Poraloid) 음향센서의 3차원 거리 데이터와 CCD 카메라에서 얻은 2차원 시각 네이타를 통합하는 방법을 개발한다. 2개의 다른 소스로부터 얻은 데이타는 서로의 미비점을 보안하며 재료운송 로보트 시스템을제어하기 위한 효율적인 알고리즘을 제공한다. 카메라는 far-away vision 개념에 의한 음향센서의 선형 스캔닝(scanning) 대역을 우선 결정한다. 선형 스캔닝에 의하여 얻어지는 거리 데이타(range Map)는 least mean square방법을 사용하여 팔레트의 위치와 자세(position and orientation)를 결정한다(near vision). 팔레트에 대한 위치와 자세가 결정되면 다시 시각센서를 이용하여(close vision) 에지(edge)탐지와 Hough transfrom 기술을 적용하여 팔레트에 대한 포크리프트의 인게이지먼트 위치를 구한다. 개발된 시스템은 하드웨어와 소프트웨어로 구현하고 평가하며 실험적인 결과도 제시한다.

  • 현재 널리 사용되는 hand-held형 단말기들은 영상을 표현할 때 제한된 수의 칼라만으로 표현할 수 있다. 따라서 자연색 칼라 팔레트를 이용하여 단말기에 나타낼 때 최적의 칼라 팔레트를 구현하는 것과 원영상의 각각의 칼라로부터 팔레트 칼라로 최적으로 정합 시키는 것이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 효율적으로 칼라 팔레트를 설계하는 히스토그램 기반 영상 의존적 스칼라 양자화 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 알고리즘은 칼라 우선순위 결정 부분과 양자화 부분으로 구성되며 양자화 후 ANC(Adaptive Neighborhood-Clustering) 알고리즘을 적용하여 성능을 개선한다. 이 방법은 자연색 칼라 영상을 적은 비트로 표현했음에도 출력 영상이 인간의 눈에 적합하다.

Automatic Color Palette Extraction for Paintings Using Color Grouping and Clustering (색상 그룹핑과 클러스터링을 이용한 회화 작품의 자동 팔레트 추출)

  • A computational color palette extraction model is introduced to describe paint brush objectively and efficiently. In this model, a color palette is defined as a minimum set of colors in which a painting can be displayed within error allowance and extracted by the two step processing of color grouping and major color extraction. The color grouping controls the resolution of colors adaptively and produces a basic color set of given painting images. The final palette is obtained from the basic color set by applying weighted k-means clustering algorithm. The extracted palettes from several famous painters are displayed in a 3-D color space to show the distinctive palette styles using RGB and CIE LAB color models individually. And the two experiments of painter classification and color transform of photographic image has been done to check the performance of the proposed method. The results shows the possibility that the proposed palette model can be a computational color analysis metric to describe the paint brush, and can be a color transform tool for computer graphics.

  • This study aims to analyze the damage and destruction behavior of pallet racks due to external forces through shaking table test. Pallet racks is a general storage racks type consisting of column, beam, and brace to resist an external force. To analyze the safety of the pallet racks due to external force, a shaking table test was conducted to investigate the pallet racks behavior due to external force while increasing the seismic load targeting the pallet racks used in the existing logistics storage facility. As a result of the shaking table test, it was confirmed that the torsion of the pallet racks damaged the connection parts of some members located on the 1st and 2nd levels, thereby destroying the loading equipment.

  • In color indexed images using the palette, the corrupted indices cause serious quality degradation in the reconstructed images at a receiver. In this paper, using the human visual characteristics of color perception, we propose the color image palette minimizing the quality degradation and the reconstruction error. We define the new measure to compare the performance of palette .construction algorithms and show the effectiveness of the proposed method under the bit error condition by computer simulation.

  • The pallet, typically a form of tertiary packaging, is a flat structure used as a base for the unitization of goods in the supply chain. In addition, standard pallets such as T-11 and T-12 are used throughout the logistics industry to reduce the cost and enhance the efficiency of transportation. However, in the case of special cargo, it is impossible to handle such cargo using a standard pallet due to its size and weight, so many have developed and are now using their customized pallet. Therefore, this study suggests a pallet size optimization method to calculate the optimal pallet size, which minimizes the loss of space on a pallet. The main input features are the specifications and the storage quantity of each cargo, and the optimization method that has modified the Neighborhood Search Algorithm calculates the optimal pallet size. In order to verify the optimality of the developed algorithm, a comparative analysis has been conducted through simulation.

  • This paper deals with inspect algorithm using visual system. One of the major problems that arise during polymer production is the estimation of the noise of the color product.(bad pallets) An erroneous output can cause a lot of losses (production and financial losses). Therefore new methods for real-time inspection of the noise are demanded. For this reason, we have presented a development of vision system algorithm for the defect inspection of PE color pallets. First of all, in order to detect the edge of object, the differential filter is used. And we apply to the labelling algorithm for feature extraction. This algorithm is designed for the defect inspection of pallets. The labelling algorithm permits to separate all of the connected components appearing on the pallets. Labelling the connected regions of a image is a fundamental computation in image analysis and machine vision, with a large number of application. Also, we suggested vision processing program in window environment. Simulations and experimental results demonstrate the performance of the proposal algorithm.
