The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of light irradiation over self-priming adhesive on dentin bonding. After acid etching the exposed dentin, a self-priming adhesive (Prime&Bond$^{\circledR}$NT dental adhesive system Dentsply DeTrey, GmbH, Konstanz, Germany) was applied and light irradiation was done for 20 sec with regular intensity (600 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) in group I and for 3 sec with ultra-high intensity (1930 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) in group III. No light irradiation was done over self-priming adhesive in groups II and IV. Composite resin was added on the self-priming adhesive and irradiated for 40 sec with regular intensity (600 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) in groups I and II and for 3 sec with ultra-high intensity (1930 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) in groups III and IV. To see the effect of light curing time on dentin bonding, another 3 group specimens were prepared. Without light-irradiation over self-priming adhesive, added composite resin was irradiated for 3, 6, or 12 sec with ultra-high intensity light. After bonded specimens were stored in 37$^{\circ}C$ distilled water for 24 hours, shear bond strength were measured using a universal testing machine (4202, Instron, Instron Co., U.S.A.) and fractured surfaces were examined under a stereomicroscope (SZ-PT Olympus, Japan). Statistical analysis were done with one-way, two-way ANOVA and chi-square test. The results were as follows : 1. The shear bond strengths from the groups irradiated over self-priming adhesive were significantly higher than those from the groups without irradiation (p<0.05). 2. There was no significant shear bond strength difference between regular intensity light irradiation groups and ultra-high intensity ones (p>0.05). 3. There was no significant shear bond strength difference among various irradiation time groups with ultra-high intensity ones (p>0.05). 4. In stereomicroscopic examination of fractured surfaces, adhesive-cohesive mixed failure mode was mostly seen in all groups, and there was no significant difference in failure mode among groups (p>0.05).
Since it was reported that incipient enamel caries can be recovered, previous studies have quantitatively evaluated that enamel artificial caries have been, remineralized with fluoride showing simultaneously the increase of width of surface layer and the decrease of width of the body of legion. There is, however, little report which showed that remineralization could occur without fluoride. In addition, the observations on the change of hydroxyapatite crystals also have been scarcely seen. In this study, enamel caries in intact premolars or molars was induced by using lactic acidulated buffering solutions over 2 days. Then decalcified specimens were remineralized by seven groups of solutions using different degree of saturation(0.212, 0.239, 0.301, 0.355) and different pH(5.0, 5.5, 6.0) over 10 days. A qualitative comparison to changes of hydroxyapatite crystals after fracturing teeth was made under SEM(scanning electron microscopy) and AFM(atomic force microscopy). The results were as follows: 1. The size of hydroxyapatite crystals in demineralized area was smaller than the normal ones. While the space among crystals was expanded, it was observed that crystals are arranged irregularly. 2. In remineralized enamel area, the enlarged crystals with various shape were observed when the crystals were fused and new small crystals in intercrystalline spaces were deposited. 3. Group 3 and 4 with higher degree of saturation at same pH showed the formation of large clusters by aggregation of small crystals from the surface layer to the lesion body than group 1 and 2 with relatively low degree of saturation at same pH did. Especially group 4 showed complete remineralization to the body of lesions. Group 5 and 6 with lower pH at similar degree of saturation showed remineralization to the body of lesions while group 7 didn't show it. Unlike in Group 3 and 4, Group 5 and 6 showed that each particle was densely distributed with clear appearance rather than crystals form clusters together.
Acidic primer is the bonding agent which combines the conditioning and priming agent into the single solution and was originally developed for the dentin bonding system. It is less harmful to the tooth structure and more convenient to manipulate than the traditional etching procedure. The Purpose of this study is to evaluate the shear bond strength of various bonding materials when the enamel is treated with acidic primer for the bracket bonding procedure. Fifty recently extracted human premolars were randomly separated into five groups -Group I using Clearfil Liner Bond 2 adhesive system to the enamel treated with acidic primer, Group II using Transbond XT adhesive system to the enamel treated with acidic primer, Group III using panavia 21 adhesive system to the enamel treated with acidic primer, Group IV using Fuji-Ortho LC adhesive system to the enamel treated with acidic primer, Group V using Transbond XT adhesive system to the enamel treated with 37$\%$ phosphoric acid. The shear bond strength was measured with Instron universal testing machine after storing in $37^{\circ}C$ water bath for 48 hours. After debonding, the teeth and brackets were examined under scanning electron microscope (SEM) and assessed with the adhesive remnant index (ARI). The results were as follows : 1. There were no significant differences in shear bond strength between group III ($8.69{\pm}2.72MPa$), group IV (9.7 ± 3.16 MPa), and group V ($10.48{\pm}2.60MPa$) (p>0.05). 2. The shear bond strength of group III and group IV was significantly higher than that of group I ($1.09{\pm}0.53MPa$), and Group II ($2.70{\pm}1.46MPa$) (p<0.05). 3. The ARI of group IV ($2.1{\pm}1.1$) and group V ($2.9{\pm}0.3$) was significantly higher than that of group I ($0.2{\pm}0.4$), group II ($0.3{\pm}0.9$) and group III ($0.2{\pm}0.4$) (p<0.05). 4. There were no significant difference between the ARI of group IV and group V (p>0.05). This result suggests that the combination of acidic primer and some bonding adhesive can provide sufficient shear bond strength for clinical orthodontics.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mechanical and thermal fatigue on the shear bond strength(SBS) of stainless steel mesh brackets bonded to human premolar teeth with 3 no-mix adhesives. The stainless steel mesh bracket was Ormesh(Ormco, .022 slot) and three types of no-mix adhesives were Ortho-one(Bisco), $Monolok^2$(RMO), $System\;1^+$(Ormco). The $10^6$ loadcycles of $17.4{\times}10^2sin2{\pi}ftlg{\cdot}cm$ and the 1,000 thermocycles of 15 second dwell time in each bath of $5^{\circ}C\;and\;55^{\circ}C$ were acturated as mechanical and thermal fatigue stress, and SBS were measured after each fatigue test. The fracture sites were analyzed by stereoscope and scanning electron microscope. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Before thermocycles, $Monolok^2$ showed the highest Knoop hardness number(KHN, $64.03kg/mm^2$) and $System\;1^+$ showed the lowest value($31.60kg/mm^2$). After thermocycling, $Monolok^2$ also showed the highest KHN($38.03kg/mm^2$) and $system\;1^+$ showed the minimum($20.87kg/mm^2$). The KHN of Ortho-one, $Monolok^2,\;System\;1^+$ significantly decreased after thermocycling (P<0.01). 2. In static shear bond test, three adhesives had no significant differences in the SBS(P>0.01). 3. After thermocycling test, $Monolok^2$ showed the maximum SBS($19.34{\pm}2.75MPa$) and Ortho-one showed the minimum SBS($13.66{\pm}2.23MPa$). The SBS of Ortho-one(P<0.01) and $System\;1^+$(P<0.05) significantly decreased after $10^3$ thermocycles. 4. The SBS of three adhesives after $10^6$ loadcycles were similar and were not significantly decreased compared with static group(P>0.01). 5. The failure sites were usually bracket/resin interface in all groups irrespective of experimental conditions.

This study was to compare the cumulative survival rate of implant-supported fixed prostheses and to analyze association between risk factors and cumulative survival rate of implant-supported fixed prostheses. In order to assess the clinical status of implant-supported fixed prostheses, individuals who treated in the Department of Prosthodontics, Pusan National University Dental Hospital, between 2000 to 2007 were examined. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Length of service of implant-supported fixed prostheses was $6.6{\pm}32.0$ years (mean), 11.7 years (median). 2. Age and sex of patient was found to have no statistically significant influence on longevity of implant-supported fixed prostheses (P>.05). 3. Reason of tooth extraction wax found to have statistically significant influence on implant-supported fixed prostheses (P<.05). The longevity of fixed prostheses was low in tooth extraction case due to periodontal disease (median:9.0 years). 4. Location of implant-supported fixed prostheses was found to have statistically significant influence on longevity of fixed prostheses (P<.05). The longevity of fixed prostheses was low in molar region (median:8.8 years). 5. Number of units in implant-supported fixed prostheses was found to have no statistically significant influence on longevity of fixed prostheses (P>.05). 6. Condition of opposing dentition was found to have no statistically significant influence on longevity of implant-supported fixed prostheses (P>.05). 7. Food impaction (40.5%), porcelain fracture (25.8%), screw loosening (23.6%) were frequent complications.

The purpose of this study was to compare the microtensile bonding strength of chemomechanically excavated dentin($Carisolv^{TM}$) to conventional caries removal(bur). The following adhesive systems were used; AB: All-Bond 2(3M, USA), PB: Prime & Bond 2.1(Dentsply, DE), AQ: AQ Bond(sun medical, Japan). 42 human molars with occlusal caries were assigned to 6 groups. Sequential caries removal was controlled with laser fluorescence. Each group was devided as follows; group A, B, C were $Carisolv^{TM}$ applied, group D,E,F were bur used. In group A and D, AB was used as a dentin adhesive. group B,E and group C,F was AQ and AQ was used each. The cavity was filled with composite resin(Z-100). The specimens were sectioned vertically into multiple serial 0.7 mm thick slabs. And then those slabs were sectioned into rectangular parts under 0.7 mm width. Finally 0.7-1.0 mm a right hexahedron shape stick become. Microtensile bonding test was carried out with testing apparatus at cross-head speed of $0.5\;mm/min^{-1}$ and fractured surfaces were observed with scanning electron microscope(JSM-6400, Jeol, Japan). The obtained results were summarized as follows ; 1. In the group of caries removal with $Carisolv^{TM}$, micro-tensile bonding strength decreased to $75.8{\sim}80$ percent of bur used group. 2. In the group of caries removal with $Carisolv^{TM}$, decreased degree of micro-tensile bonding strength is not so different in 3 kinds of dentin adhesives(p<0.05). 3. In the group of caries removal with $Carisolv^{TM}$, microtensile bonding strength of AB, PB, AQ was 32.6MPa(2.4), 30.1Mpa (1.8), 21.2Mpa(1.9). 4. In the group of caries removal with Bur and $Carisolv^{TM}$, microtensile bonding strength of AQ was significantly lower than that of AB and PB(p<0.01).
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using laser for ceramic bracket bonding of porcelain surfaces and to compare it with conventional treatment of porcelain surfaces. Methods: Ninety feldspathic porcelain specimens were divided into 9 groups of 10, with each group having different surface treatments performed. Surface treatment groups were orthophosphoric acid, orthophosphoric acid with silane, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluoric acid with silane, sandblasted, sandblasted with silane, laser etched, laser etched with silane, and glazed surface served as a control group. In the laser etched groups, the specimens were irradiated with 2-watt superpulse carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) laser for 20 seconds. Ceramic brackets were bonded with light-cure composite resin and all specimens were stored in water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. Shear bond strength was determined in megapascals (MPa) by shear test at 1 mm/minute crosshead speed and the failure pattern was assessed. For statistical analysis, one-way ANOVA and tukey test were used. Results: Statistical analysis showed significant differences between the groups. The HFA + S group showed the highest mean shear bond strength ($13.92{\pm}1.94\;MPa$). This was followed by SB + S ($10.16\;{\pm}\;1.27\;MPa$), HFA ($10.09\;{\pm}\;1.07\;MPa$), L + S ($8.25\;{\pm}\;1.24\;MPa$), L ($7.86\;{\pm}\;0.96\;MPa$), OFA + S ($7.22\;{\pm}\;1.09\;MPa$), SB ($3.41\;{\pm}\;0.37\;MPa$), OFA ($2.81\;{\pm}\;0.37\;MPa$), G ($2.46\;{\pm}\;1.36\;MPa$), Bond failure patterns of HFA and silane groups, except L + S, were cohesive modes in porcelain while adhesive failure was observed in the control group and the rest of the groups. Conclusions : A 2-watt superpulse $CO_2$ laser etching of porcelain surfaces can provide a satisfactory result for porcelain surface treatment for ceramic bracket bonding. Laser irradiation may be an alternative conditioning method for the treatment of porcelain surfaces.

There are several treatment options for rehabilitation of partial edentulism including the use of conventional or implant-retained fixed prostheses. However, such prosthetic options cannot always be possible because of compromised general and oral health (i.e. loss of supporting tissues, medical reasons, extensive surgical protocol and osseointegration failure of dental implant) as well as the affordability of patients. In some cases, removable partial denture provides easier access for oral hygiene procedures and the ability to correct discrepancies in dental arch relationships than implant fixed prosthesis. Recently, Implant Supported Removable Partial Denture (ISRPD) where to place dental implant in strategic position has been suggested to improve the limitation and shortcomings of conventional RPD. ISPRD can overcome mechanical limition of conventional RPD by placing implant in a favorable position and can be cost-effective, prosthetic solution for partially edentulous patients who are not immediate candidates for extensive, fixed implant supported restorations. Incorporation of dental implants to improve the RPD support and retention and to enhance patient acceptance should be considered when treatment planning for RPD. In this case, 59 years old male patient who received dental treatment of implant fixed prosthesis on both side of the upper jaw and implant overdenture on lower jaw showed implant abutment screw fracture on #15i and osseointegration failure on multiple number of implants. After removing failed implants, we planned ISRPD using #15i,24i,25i,26i and #23 natural tooth for RPD abutment. We fabricated #23 surveyed crown,#24i=25i=26i surveyed bridge and #15i gold coping for support,retention and stability for RPD. Periodic follow up check for 2years has been performed since the ISRPD delivery to the patient. No sign of screw loosening, fracture or bone resorption around abutment implants were detected.
Statement of problem: Loosening or fracture of the abutment screw is one of the common problems related to the dental implant. Generally, in order to make the screw joint stable, the preload generated by tightening torque needs to be increased within the elastic limit of the screw. However, additional tensile forces can produce the plastic deformation of abutment screw when functional loads are superimposed on preload stresses, and they can elicit loosening or fracture of the abutment screw. Therefore, it is necessary to find the optimum tightening torque that maximizes a fatigue life and simultaneously offer a reasonable degree of protection against loosening. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to present the influence of tightening torque on the implant-abutment screw joint stability with the 3 dimensional finite element analysis. Material and methods: In this study, the finite element model of the implant system with external butt joint connection was designed and verified by comparison with additional theoretical and experimental results. Four different amount of tightening torques(10, 20, 30 and 40 Ncm) and the external loading(250 N, $30^{\circ}$) were applied to the model, and the equivalent stress distributions and the gap distances were calculated according to each tightening torque and the result was analyzed. Results: Within the limitation of this study, the following results were drawn; 1) There was the proportional relation between the tightening torque and the preload. 2) In case of applying only the tightening torque, the maximum stress was found at the screw neck. 3) The maximum stress was also shown at the screw neck under the external loading condition. However in case of applying 10 Ncm tightening torque, it was found at the undersurface of the screw head. 4) The joint opening was observed under the external loading in case of applying 10 Ncm and 20 Ncm of tightening torque. 5) When the tightening torque was applied at 40 Ncm, under the external loading the maximum stress exceeded the allowable stress value of the titanium alloy. Conclusion: Implant abutment screw must have a proper tightening torque that will be able to maintain joint stability of fixture and abutment.
Statement of problem: Restoring and replacing teeth with fixed prostheses commonly used in dental practice. Because of improper oral hygiene care and inaccurate laboratory procedure, complications of fixed prostheses were found in the mouth of patients. Although many efforts have been continually made to obtain the data of long term prognosis of fixed prostheses, it was difficult to do it. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical status of fixed prostheses. Material and methods: In order to assess the clinical status of fixed prostheses, a total of 161 individuals(aged 17-85, 99 women and 62 men with 1596 unit of fixed prostheses, and 1169 abutments) who first visited the Department of Prosthodontics, Pusan National University Hospital, between April to September, in 2007 were examined. Results and conclusion: The results of this study were as follows: 1. Length of service of fixed prostheses was $8.6{\pm}0.6$ years(mean), 10.0 years(median). 2. Location of fixed prostheses was found to have no statistically significant influence on longevity of fixed prostheses(P>.05). But, the success rate was high in posterior region and in mandible where the failure rate was high in combination(P<.05). 3. Longevity of fixed prostheses made of metal was longest(mean: $13.0{\pm}9.3$, median: 14.0), gold, precious ceramic, non-precious ceramic trailing behind(P<.05). 4. Number of units in fixed prostheses was found to have no statistically significant influence on longevity of fixed prostheses(P>.05). But, the success rate was high in Single-unit and the failure rate was high in over 3-unit(P<.05). 5. Condition of opposing dentition was found to have no statistically significant influence on longevity of fixed prostheses(P>.05). But, the success rate was high in natural dentition(P<.05). 6. Defective margin(28.2%), dental caries(23.0%), periodontal disease(19.3%), periapical disease(16.9%) were frequent complications. In 30.1% of the cases, abutment state after removing fixed prostheses was needed to be extracted.

② 상기 이용제한 규정에 따라 서비스를 이용하는 회원에게 서비스 이용에 대하여 별도 공지 없이 서비스 이용의
일시정지, 이용계약 해지 할 수 있습니다.
제 17 조 (전자우편주소 수집 금지)
회원은 전자우편주소 추출기 등을 이용하여 전자우편주소를 수집 또는 제3자에게 제공할 수 없습니다.
제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.
[부 칙]
1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
