Development of Pipe configuration of Air Conditioner Compressor for Vibration Isolation (진동절연을 위한 에어컨 압축기의 파이프 배열기술 개발)

  • Rubber mounts so called grommets and pipes are two major paths of vibration transmission from a compressor, an important vibration source in an air conditioner, to the whole unit. A procedure of configuring the suction and discharge pipes of the compressor was developed in this paper so as to reduce the vibration transmission through the pipes as well as the grommets. Through investigating the effects of shapes and connecting disrections of pipe elements on vibration transmission, a guideline to configure the pipe layout, which enables to reduce vibration transmission, was proposed. The initial pipe layout by the guideline was optimized with the objective function, minimization of boty vibration transmission and the cost, and with the constraints to yield the final dimensions of the pipes. The procedure not only minimizes the transmitted force to the circumferential devices but enables to eliminate rubber blocks or dampers, which are generally used to avoid resonances of the pipe system.

  • The static nonlinear analysis of offshore pipeline is carried out by the finite element method. The governing equilibrium equation are derived by the principle of minimum potential energy and the modified Newton-Raphson procedure is used to solve the system of nonlinear algebraic equation. Geometrically nonlinear beam elements and spring elements are utilized to model the pipeline, stinger, pipe supports and seabed simultaneously. The beam element developed can be used to model redundant structures. It provides for both the torsional deformation and elongation of pipeline, and permits the use of different physical properties in each principal direction. The validity of this method is investigated by comparing the results with these obtained by other methods.

  • These days, many cable-stayed bridges were constructed in accordance with the trend in Korea. At the moment, construction technology of cable-stayed bridges has been remarkably developed but design technology still relies upon foreign technology very much. The cable anchor system that is one of key technologies of cable-stayed bridge brings powerful cable tension to produce local stress concentration and to disturb stress seriously, so for safety must be designed by a local detailed analysis is required. But without a clear design standard or design theory relying on F.E.M, and engineers don't understand theoretical basic mechanism of cable anchor system. As a result, engineers can be lose their judgement. Accordingly, this study examined theoretical design flow of fixing pipe in guide pipe-anchor system and additional considerations, in accordance with design standards at home and abroad to keep them in order and to suggest supplementary design flow.

Pipelined VLSI Architectures for the Hierarchical Block-Matching Algorithm (계층적 블록매칭 알고리즘을 위한 파이프라인식 VLSI 아키텍쳐)

  • 본 논문에서는 계층적 블록매칭 알고리즘(HBMA)을 위한 두 가지 병렬 VLSI 아키텍쳐를 제안한다. HBMA는 계층에 따른 반복수행과 공간 인터폴레이션을 기반으로 수행되며, 이러한 수행 특성은 병렬처리의 장애요소인 데이터 종속성을 내재하고 있다. 제안된 아키텍쳐는 HBMA의 계층간 데이터 종속성을 해결하기 위하여 기본적으로 파이프라인 구조를 채택하고 있으며, HBMA에서 주어진 매개변수에 따라 세 단계의 스테이지로 구성된다. 제안된 아키텍쳐는 입력 프레임 데이터의 흐름을 제어하는 방식에 따라 두 가지 종류로 구분된다. U-Architecture는 단방향 스캔 순서를 따르도록 설계되었으며, B-Architecture는 양방향 스캔 수서를 따르도록 설계되었다. 각 아키텍쳐의 내부 메모리와 인터폴레이션 모듈은 해당 스캔 순서에 따라 동기적으로 동작할 수 있는 구조를 가진다. 성능분석의 결과로서 본 논문에서 제안한 두 가지 아키텍쳐가 모두 방송용 비디오 포맷을 실시간으로 처리할 수 있음을 보이고, HDTV 포맷은 가까운 장래의 VLSI 기술로 실시간 성능을 얻을 수 있음을 보였다. 또한, B-Architecture는 공간 연결성 내부 메모리 구조를 채택함으로써 입력 데이터의 재활용도를 높이고, 이에 따라 Q-Architecture에 비해서 데이터 입출력 핀의 개수를 약 반정도 줄일 수 있는 특성을 보이고 있다.

A Study on the Efficient Modularization of Virtual World Creation in Unreal Engine (언리얼엔진에서의 가상세계 창작을 위한 효율적 모듈화 연구)

  • In the development of existing games, it is judged that virtual world production was done by arranging game elements one by one. What is noteworthy here is the question of whether quality virtual worlds were efficiently produced in preparation for investment. In this study, we propose a methodology that can build an efficient virtual world based on the concept of modularization in an unreal engine. First, precedents were analyzed and five reference elements for modularization were extracted. In addition, the concept of an instance production pipeline was proposed by dividing it into four stages, and the minimum-unit instance modules for urban virtual world production were compressed into four. Finally, an urban virtual world constructed based on the minimum unit module and reference elements was implemented and presented. In conclusion, research on the production method centered on this efficiency is thought to be able to focus the time that designers or artists had to spend on production only on ideas and creativity. The limitations of the research are that the basic minimum module is limited to the city, and the derived reference elements and production pipelines have not been verified when implementing them with an unreal engine. Therefore, it is expected that various virtual world creation plans will be derived through more advanced modular research.

  • 파이프라인을 건설함에 있어 가장 중요한 기술이 배관 용접기술이다. 즉 파이프와 파이프를 연결하는 작업이 공사 진척도를 결정하기 때문에, 이를 얼마나 경제적으로 신속하게 수행해 나가느냐하는 것은 건설기간 및 건설비용을 결정하는 핵심 요소이다. 가스배관 시공 원주용접 방법은 여러 가지 있는데, 현재 국내에서는 전량 수동용접을 채택하고 있다. 이 방법은 국내 가스배관을 건설한 초기부터 적용해온 것으로 우수한 품질을 확보할 수 있으며, 취약한 국내 자동화기술과 열악한 도로 매설 시공여건에서 적용하기 용이한 방안이다. 그러나 우수한 용접기량을 보유한 용접사가 점차 부족해지고, 배관시공 시간을 단축하고 비용을 줄이기 위한 필요성이 점차 커지면서 이를 해결할 수 있는 기술로서 자동원주용접방안이 있다. 이 기술들은 해외 가스배관에 이미 오래전부터 적용되어 용접부위 신뢰성과 품질 우수성을 확보하고 시공비용절감을 달성하고 있다. 자동용접을 적용하기 위해서는 용접절차를 수립하여 절차인증시험을 수행하고, 기존방안과 동일이상의 품질이 확보되며 효율성을 겸비해야만 한다. 국가 기본에너지의 안정적인 공급을 위해 적기 시공이 필요하고, 1 km당 10 억원 이상이 소요되는 배관시공비용 중 약 1/3이 용접비파괴검사 비용인 점을 감안할 때 품질이 확보되면서 경제적인 시공방안이 있다면 이를 적용하는 것이 국가 산업 경제적 측면에서 필요한 일이다. 이와 관련된 연구에서는 국내 가스배관 원주용접에 적용 가능한 용접공정을 검토하고, 용접절차를 수립하여 절차인증시험을 수행하였으며, 추가로 배관 원주 자동용접부위에 대한 기계적 특성 평가를 실시하였다. 현재 국내 건설여건과 비파괴검사 기준을 만족시키고 안전성과 효율성을 겸비한 방법으로는 초층과 2층은 수동 GTAW를 적용하고 나머지 층은 반자동 FCAW를 적용하는 방안이 적절한 것으로 판단된다. 전 층을 자동 GTAW로 용접하는 방안은 품질은 확보되지만 효율성측면에서 대형배관에는 적용하기 어려울 것으로 보이며, 해외에서 많이 사용되는 자동 GMAW 방안은 국내 비파괴검사기준을 만족시키기 어려워 검토대상에서 제외하였다. 본 논문에서는 두 가지 용접방법에 대한 용접공정개발과정과 원주용접부위 기계적 특성을 검토하여 최적방안을 제시하고자 한다.

A Study on Pyramid of Binary Image Using Mathematical Morphology (수학적 형태학을 이용한 이진 영상의 피라미드에 관한 연구)

  • Mathematical morphology based on the set theory has been applied to various areas in image processing. In this study, we propose a new pyramid structure for binary images based on the morphological operations. We use a specific class of structuring elements to shrink or expand images, and prove that the whole operations are separable to construct the pyramid. Through a simulation study, we show that the pyramid can be used as a progressive image coding.

A Study for Evaluation of Performance and Influence Factors for Steel Pipe Supports ( I ) (강제파이프서포트의 성능평가 및 영향요인에 대한 연구( I ))

  • Recently, interest on the performance of the construction temporary equipment have been greatly increased. Since the application of the 'Performance Test Code' for the equipment in 1992 according to the Industrial Safety and Health Act, a basic study of Steel Pipe Supports have been carried out for the last 2 years based on the Performance Test Results. The present code specification for the Steel Pipe Supports and research status are introduced. So far, total 849 specimen have been examined on their outer and inner pipe's length, thickness, their overlapping length, and their load carrying capacities. The test was conducted separately into two groups - used and new equipment, and it was found that the used ones revealed a decrease on their load carrying capacity, almost $10\%$ compared to the new ones. Considering this fact, it is strongly recommended to ensure the quality of the equipment before use at the jobsite. First of all, based on this basic investigation, the statistical values on the Steel Pipe Supports are suggested and further analysis on the effect of each component is in progress. It is, however, expected that this report can be used as a basic information on the Steel Pipe Supports.

Design on the large section of station tunnel under shallow overburden (저토피고 대단면 정거장터널의 설계)

  • For minimizing the effect on the focus of civil traffic and environment conditions related to the excavation at the traffic jamming points, an underground station tunnel was planned with 35.5 m in length and bigger area than $200\;m^2$ in sedimentary rock mass. It faced the case that the overburden was just under 13 m. Not based on a pattern design but on the case histories of similar projects and arching effect, the design of large section tunnel under shallow overburden was investigated on three design subjects which are shape effect on the section area, application method of support pressure, and supporting and tunnel safety. According to the mechanical effect from section shape, a basic design and a preliminary design was obtained, and then supporting method of large section was planned by the supporting of NATM and a pipe roof method for subsidence prevention and mechanical stability. From the comparative study between both designs, it was found that the basic design was suitable and acceptable for the steel alignment of tunnel lining, safety and the design parameter restricted by the limit considered as partition of the excavation facilities. Through the analysis result of preliminary design showing the mechanical stability without stress concentration in tunnel arch level, it also was induced that shape effect of the large section area and yielding load obtained from deformation zone in the surrounding rock mass of tunnel have to be considered as major topics for the further development of design technique on the large section tunnel.

Post-Buckling Behaviour and Buckling Strength of the Circular Cylinder Under Axial Compression (압축하중을 받는 원통실린더의 후좌굴 거동 및 좌굴강도)

  • Cylindrical shells are often used in the construction of ship and land-based structures such as deck plating with a camber, side shell plating for fore and aft part pipes, as well as storage tanks. It has been believed that such curved shells can be modeled fundamentally as a part of the cylinder under axial compression. From the estimations made based on cylindrical models, it is known that in general, curvature increases the buckling strength of a curved shell when subjected to axial compression, and the same curvature is also expected to increase the overall strength. A series of elastic large deflection analyses were conducted in order to clarify the fundamentals observed in the buckling and post-buckling behaviour of circular cylinders under axial compression. In the present paper, an FE-series analysis has been performed based on the elastic large deflection behaviour, and the effect of parameters has been clarified. The ultimate strength behavior of the circular cylinder was found to be significantly influenced by both the initial deflection and the FE-modeling method.
