Study of tsunami sensitivity analysis to fault parameters for probabilistic tsunami hazard assessment (확률론적 지진해일 재해도 평가(PTHA)를 위한 단층 파라미터에 대한 지진해일의 민감도 분석)

  • 확률론적 지진해일 재해도 평가(PTHA)는 최근 지진해일에 대한 연구에서는 관심을 많이 받고 있는 주제로 여러 국가에서 연구가 진행되고 있다. 단층매개변수의 민감도 분석은 일본(Goda et al., 2014), 미국(Sepúlveda and Liu, 2016), 뉴질랜드(D. Burbridge et al., 2015) 등에서 연구가 활발하게 이루어졌으며 현재도 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 민감도 분석은 PTHA를 진행하기 위한 선행 과정으로 파향선 추적을 통한 대상지 설정 및 연구 대상 단층을 선정한 후 로직트리를 만들기 위해 각 단층 매개변수의 범위와 단위 폭을 제시한다. 해당 연구는 세 가지 단층 매개변수에 대한 지진해일 초기파와 파고에 대한 민감도 분석을 실행했다. 주향각은 초기파와 지진해일고에 대해서 임의의 변동을 보이지만 변동 폭은 다른 두 매개변수들과 비교하여 가장 크다. 경사각과 슬립각은 단층의 수직 움직임을 변화시키며 이를 통해 초기파의 변동을 예측할 수 있다. 초기파의 변동과 모양을 분석함으로써 수치 계산이 가설과 유사한 결과를 보임을 확인하였다. 경사각과 슬립각에 의한 지진해일고의 변화는 최저 지진해일고가 초기파의 총 에너지와 연관된다는 결론에 이른다. 지진해일 재해도는 해안지역에 도달하는 최종 파고와 관련이 있으므로 각 매개변수의 단위 폭은 지진해일고의 결과를 통해 선정되었다. 민감도 분석은 제시한 주향각, 경사각, 슬립각의 단위 폭을 이용하여 로직트리의 분기 수를 감소시켜 수치 계산 시간을 줄임으로써 PTHA의 효율성을 증대시킨다.

  • In this paper, wave energy convertors which convert incident wave energy into electric power using floating light buoy are investigated. One-tenth models of a floating light buoy, straight line and seesaw type electric power plant are manufactured and tested in wave flume. In these systems, we measure the horizontal and vertical slope, generated current and power of buoy with different wave heights and periods. This was confirmed the capability of getting electric power, then we suggest further works to get more efficiency.

  • An experimental study of deep-water breaking waves is performed by nonlinear wave evolution as well as superposition of different wave frequencies. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional wave instabilities and breakings are observed in nonlinear wave evolution. The wave energy evolves with almost the same initial wave energy before breaking but decreases significantly after breaking process. Large spilling and plunging waves are generated near e expected breaking location by means of faster waves overtaking slow waves at a certain point. More energy loss in vigorous plunging breakers is observed through breaking process.

  • A wave deformation model for general purpose combined refraction, diffraction, and breaking is developed in the shallow water. A parabolic approximation equation considered a higher order diffraction term is derived from the previous mild slope equation. A wave energy dissipation term due to bottom friction and breaking is introduced from the turbulence model. The Crank-Nicoloson implicit scheme is used in the numerical calculation, then the solutions are compared with the various hydraulic experiment data in the circular, the elliptic shoal, and the surf zone. The wave height decay in the surf zone is sensitively affected by the incident wave steepness, and the wave height variation around the elliptic shoal is well explained by the non-linear dispersion relation and the wave energy dissipation term. The model is also applied to a field coastal area and reasonable results are obtained.

  • A simulation is applied to evaluate sea surface observations such as wave heights and surface currents by using a microwave Doppler radar. It is reported that the microwave irradiation width on the sea surface and Fourier transform time taken to sample data for frequency analysis affect Doppler spectra. To investigate the influences by these parameters, Doppler spectra are simulated with various numerical sea surface waves with currents. From the results, in the case of the microwave irradiation width is five times smaller than the wavelength of the sea surface wave, and the Fourier transform time is also five times shorter than the period of the sea surface wave, there is a possibility to measure wave heights accurately with a Doppler radar. In addition, relative surface currents can be estimated by analysis of long Fourier transform time. The simulation results showed the appropriate observing conditions with a microwave Doppler radar.

  • This study evaluates the variation characteristics of wave fields (transmission ratio, wave height, time-averaged velocity and time-averaged turbulent kinetic energy) for two-dimensional low-crested structure by olaFlow model based on the two-phases flow numerically. In addition, the present numerical results are verified by comparing with the existing experimental results. The time-averaged velocity, one of various numerical results is formed counterclockwise circulating cell on the front of structure and is occurred strong uni-directional flow on onshore side. It is shown that these are closely related to the factors such as overtopping, etc.

Analysis and Quantification of Seawater Infiltration by Wave Action in Coastal Zone (연안해역에서 파도에 의한 해수 침투이론의 비교와 정량화)

  • To know the seawater infiltration into tidal flat sediment in coastal area is very important, because it is significantly correlated with the infiltration and transportation of pollutants in soil, the supply of dissolved oxygen, nutrients and organic matter to benthic organisms for survival of benthic organisms and the seawater purification. So, we set up purpose to clarify the infiltration behavior of seawater by wave action in tidal flat, to clear the effects of slope of tidal flat and breaking wave height on seawater infiltration and to quantify the infiltration volume of seawater. For purpose, the seawater infiltration was studied with visualization method by using coloring tracer and transparent glass beads replaced as natural sediment in model tidal flat. Specific conclusions derived from this study are as follows. The semi-circular type infiltration of seawater by wave action into saturated sediment was a new infiltration behavior that was not considered in previous studies. The infiltration rate of seawater was increased with increasing of breaking wave height and slope of tidal flat. However, the effects of the slope was bigger than that of breaking wave height on seawater infiltration into tidal flat sediments. It was possible to calculate the infiltration volume of seawater by wave action in natural tidal flat sediment and in fields. Therefore, we can point out that wave action play an important role in the supply of dissolved oxygen, nutrients and organic matter to benthic organisms, transportation or diffusion of pollutants and seawater purification. So, we hope to be studied the supply of food to benthic organism, pollutant transport and seawater purification on the base of these results.

  • Floating wind turbines have been suggested as a feasible solution for going further offshore into deeper waters. However, floating platforms cause additional unsteady motions induced by wind and wave conditions, so that it is difficult to predict annual energy output of wind turbines by using conventional power prediction method. That is because sectional inflow condition on a rotor plane is varied by unsteady motion of floating platforms. Therefore, aerodynamic simulation using Vortex Lattice Method(VLM) were used to investigate the influence of motion on the aerodynamic performance of a floating offshore wind turbine. Simulation with individual motion of offshore platform were compared to the case of onshore platform and carried out according to the wave height and the wave angular frequency.

  • Wave grouping, which is one of the important characteristics of the irregular wave, is analyzed by the run-length theory and the SIWEH(Smoothed Instantaneous Wave Energy History) theory. After studying the basic properties of the regular wave group synthesized using the harmonic waves. the characteristics of the irregular wave group observed at the East sea is analyzed. It is concluded that for accurate analysis of irregular wave grouping concepts of run length and SIWEH as well as spectrum analysis should In examined.

X-선 검출기의 이득 보정 및 신호처리회로 구성

  • 천체 B-선 관측용으로 많이 이용되고 있는 X-선 비례계수관을 실험실형으로 재작하고 그 특성을 조사하였다. X-선 검출기의 구조는 10 $\times$ 20 $\times$ 2cm3 인 검출체적내에 10개의 전극선이 설치되어있는 다중선 비례계수관이며, 검출가스로서 Argon(90%) + CH4 (10%)인 g혼합가스를 사용하였다. 이러한 구조에서 5.9 keV에 대한 에너지 분해능은 16%를 얻었으나, 정상적인 전극연결방법에서는 검출기 끝측에 위치한 전극에서 생기는 electric field 변형매문에, 양극선 배열방향에서 조정된 이득의 군일성이 나쁘게 나타났다. 따라서 다중선들의 각 전극선에 전압보상법(voltage compansation method)을 적용하여 검출기 전반에 걸친 이득의 균일성을 2 % (rms 값) 이내로 보정할 수 있었다. 아울러 신호처리회로 중 에너지분석을 위한 파고분석기, 비 X-선 재거를 위한 상승시간선별기(rise-time discriminator)등을 제작하였으며 이들을 이용한 전반적인 신호처리회로의 구성에 대하여 논하고자 한다.
