A Study on the Reliability Management of Onboard Signaling Equipment for the Korean Tilting Train (한국형 틸팅열차 차상신호장치 신뢰성관리에 대한 연구)

  • This paper is a study on the reliability management of onboard signaling equipment for the Koran Tilting Train (TTX) to run the existing railway to express railway. For safe running of tilting train which operates at Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and Automatic Train Stop (ATS), a reliability management plan for TTX onboard is proposed for preventing train safety from driver oversight and malfunction by establishing braking curves based on movement authority and speed limit, according to preceding train location and rail conditions. Also, reliability of TTX onboard equipment on the basis of proposed plan was estimated, and actual case studies based on the international requirements IEC 62278 (EN 50126) were provided to verify its reliability.

  • A turnout system which permits trains to pass from one track to another is a combination of the switch, the crossing, lead rails which are necessary to connect the switch and the crossing, two guard rails and a switch machine for operating the switch. In Korea, it has been planned to adopt the high speed tilting train which is suitable for the circumstance of Korea and operates at the maximum speed of 180 km/h, at conventional lines by the year of 2010. For the present, the prototype of the tilting train has been fabricated, and has undergoing a trial run. In this study, evaluation of noise around the turnout system induced by the tilting train has been implemented through the field measurements.

  • In this paper, a dual band electrical beam tilting array antenna with bi-directional directivity is designed. Radiating element operates at dual-resonance frequencies and is designed as planar dipole using PCB. In order to tilt the main beam, the phase delay line is designed by use of only the phase shifting line of a $50\Omega$ microstrip line for broadband. The designed antenna has tilting angle of $0^{\circ}$ to ${\pm}8^{\circ}$. For validation of the designed antenna specification, the array antenna is fabricated and the performances are measured. Comparison between theory and experiment shows good agreement.

  • 본 논문에서는 한국형 틸팅열차의 유지보수 활동을 위해 신뢰성기반유지보수체계를 제안하였다. 열차시스템을 3단계의 교체 부품 단위로 분류하고, 각 단위에 대해 기능블록도를 작성한 후 고장모드 영향 분석을 실시하였다. 각 단위의 심각도를 결정한 후 유지보수 정책을 제안하였으며, 틸팅열차를 위한 유지보수 기준을 정하고, 실제 사례를 제시하였다. 제안된 신뢰성기반유지보수체계는 기존 유지보수 체계와도 호환성을 갖고 있으며, 안전성 향상과 유지보수 활동 효율화에 기여할 수 있다.In this paper, a reliability centered maintenance (RCM) system is proposed to perform maintenance action for Korean Tilting Train. The train system was divided into line replaceable units up to three steps. Functional block diagrams were drawn and failure mode effect analysis for the units was carried out. The criticality of each unit was determined and a maintenance policy was proposed. Maintenance and repair criteria for the tilting train were determined and an example was presented. The proposed RCM system is compatible with the previous maintenance system and contributes to improvement of safety and efficiency of maintenance action.

A Study on Design of the Electrical Down Tilting Antenna with Shaped Beam Pattern (성형 빔 패턴을 갖는 전기적인 다운 틸팅 안테나의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • The shape of vertical pattern of base station antenna affects greatly quality of the communication of not only a service zone but also adjacent cells and then it is an important point to be considered in designing cell coverage. Currently type of vertical patterns to be applied to base station antenna are divided into five classes. In designing antenna, these five classes are applied solely or compositely according to the environment to be used antenna. In this paper, the dual polarized antenna for base station that is with a continuous electrical down tilting and with a shaped beam pattern, that an upper side lobe is suppressed and a lower null is filled, is designed and fabricated for synthesizing of the shape beant the pattern synthesis methods proposed by R. S. Elliott is used sequentially and for the electrical don tilting, the phased array theory is applied. Measured results show the down tilting range from 0° to 14°, the gain of Min. 13.3dBi and the upper side lobe of Max. -23dB. And we verified that upper side lobe is not to vary greatly and null filling performance is favorable overall.

  • In this paper a configuration of the load evaluation device for the tilting actuator using hydraulic power is presented, which makes it possible to measure the force action on the tilting actuator. It is possible to measure only current using the conventional electro-mechanical actuator when the bogie is in the process of the tilting. This makes impossible to measure the force acting on the tilting actuator. In order to overcome this problem a kinetic mechanism test system using hydraulic cylinder is proposed. The system are consisted of hydraulic cylinder for the tilting actuation, control system to control hydraulic power, sensors to measure for force and displacement and monitoring system for the user interface.

  • This paper has established the strength evaluation procedure of the bogie frame for the Korean tilting train that is being developed in KRRI, In order to establish the strength evaluation procedure, firstly, the loading conditions imposed on the tilting train were investigated. In addition, the static and fatigue strength of the bogie frame has been evaluated. In order to derive the dynamic loads according to the carbody tilting, the load redistribution effect by carbody tilting, the unbalanced lateral acceleration effect by high-speed curving and the tilting actuator force effect have been considered. Multi-body dynamic analyses have been carried out to evaluate the tilting load cases and the strength analysis has been performed by finite element analyses. From this study, the structural safety of the bogie frame could be ensured.

  • 전기철도차량에서 사용하는 전력변환장치에 의해서 부하전류에 다양한 고조파가 포함되고 이러한 고조파는 전력품질에 영향을 미치게 된다. 틸팅열차는 현재 6량 1편성의 시제차량이 개발되어 호남선에서 시험을 실시하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 틸팅열차가 운행되는 동안 차량의 전력시스템을 평가하기 위해서 차량의 전압, 부하전류, 전력, 고조파를 측정한 결과에 대해서 서술하였다.

  • 철도는 안전성, 신뢰성, 에너지절약 등 여러 가지 측면에서 다른 교통수단과 비교하여 여러 장점을 가지고 있기 때문에 많은 나라에서 각광을 받아 왔다. 최근 들어서는 고속열차 뿐만 아니라 기존선을 고속으로 주행하기 위한 연구도 활발하게 수행되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 독자 기술로 개발된 한국형 틸팅열차에 탑재되어 있는 틸팅시스템에 대한 성능평가를 수행한 결과에 대하여 살펴보았다.

  • This study presents a method to evaluate overturning safety and derailment safety of korean tilting train using kinematic analysis of four-bar linkage tilting mechanism. The safety is evaluated considering tilting vehicle body CG displacement. The design sensitivity for stable and safe maximum speed is evaluated around current korean tilting train design data. The current design shows minimum center of gravity displacement. Higher speed can be achieved with larger center of gravity displacement.
