Analysis of braking characteristics of electric multiple unit for train control system (열차제어시스템을 위한 전동차 제동특성 분석)

  • This paper presents a braking model that can be used to design the safety distance of a train control system and a train braking system to increase the volume of traffic. For the braking model, a train set (electric multiple unit composed 6 cars) was tested. The factors that can affect the braking characteristics include the friction coefficient, braking pressure, and regenerative braking. The braking pressure was classified into service and emergency braking and reflected the characteristics of the vehicle. The external force acting on the running railway car was tested in accordance with KS R 9217, and the running resistance of the train is presented in the form of a polynomial. The dynamic behavior of the train running on a straight flat line was simulated using UM 8.3. The results were validated with experimental data, and the results were reasonable. With the validated model, a stopping distance was determined according to the initial braking speed and compared with the deceleration braking model. In addition, a safety distance for the train control system could be changed according to the frictional coefficient limits. These results are expected to be useful for analyzing the dynamic behavior of trains, and for analyzing various railway environments and improving the braking performance.

  • The utilization of agricultural drones for pest control operations has been increasing due to its economic efficiency. However, variations in the effectiveness of these operations occur depending on the operator's proficiency. In this study, we applied a smart operating mode to overcome the limitations of manual flight mode and proposed a numerical model. Through comparative validation with prior research, we conducted experimental verification. As a result, we determined the spray time and calculation of spray area for each drone model. We selected a drone for pest control with a high similarity to the numerical model and verified it experimentally. Through this, we confirmed that the application of the smart operating mode is more effective in terms of calculation of spray area and operational efficiency compared to manual flight mode.

Numerical Test for the 2D Q Tomography Inversion Based on the Stochastic Ground-motion Model (추계학적 지진동모델에 기반한 2D Q 토모그래피 수치모델 역산)

  • To identify the detailed attenuation structure in the southern Korean Peninsula, a numerical test was conducted for the Q tomography inversion to be applied to the accumulated dataset until 2005. In particular, the stochastic pointsource ground-motion model (STGM model; Boore, 2003) was adopted for the 2D Q tomography inversion for direct application to simulating the strong ground-motion. Simultaneous inversion of the STGM model parameters with a regional single Q model was performed to evaluate the source and site effects which were necessary to generate an artificial dataset for the numerical test. The artificial dataset consists of simulated Fourier spectra that resemble the real data in the magnitude-distance-frequency-error distribution except replacement of the regional single Q model with a checkerboard type of high and low values of laterally varying Q models. The total number of Q blocks used for the checkerboard test was 75 (grid size of $35{\times}44km^2$ for Q blocks); Q functional form of $Q_0f^{\eta}$ ($Q_0$=100 or 500, 0.0 < ${\eta}$ < 1.0) was assigned to each Q block for the checkerboard test. The checkerboard test has been implemented in three steps. At the first step, the initial values of Q-values for 75 blocks were estimated. At the second step, the site amplification function was estimated by using the initial guess of A(f) which is the mean site amplification functions (Yun and Suh, 2007) for the site class. The last step is to invert the tomographic Q-values of 75 blocks based on the results of the first and second steps. As a result of the checkerboard test, it was demonstrated that Q-values could be robustly estimated by using the 2D Q tomography inversion method even in the presence of perturbed source and site effects from the true input model.

  • In this study, the VCB(Vacuum Circuit Breaker) has been developed using the Recurdyn that is widely used on multibody dynamics analysis. The VCB consists of three main circuits with the VI(Vacuum Interrupter) and the main frame with the operating mechanism. This analytic model is validated by comparing the simulation results and the experimental results. Generally, in order to reliably cut off the breaking current, the opening speed of the VCB after contact separation has to be a 0.9~1.1m/s. Therefore, the study of the design parameters of the VCB is needed. To improve the opening velocity, Taguchi design method is applied to optimize the design parameters of a VCB with a lot of linkages. In addition, to evaluate the improvement of the operating characteristics, the simulation results are compared with the Recurdyn and experimental results with improved prototype sample.

Analysis and Experiment on Dynamic Characteristics for Deployable Composite Reflector Antenna (전개형 복합재료 반사판 안테나의 동특성 분석 및 시험)

  • The dynamic characteristics of the composite reflector panels are numerically and experimentally investigated. A dynamics model of the panel is analytically developed based on a deployment mechanism of the antenna. The deployment is passively activated using elastic energy of a spring with two rotational degrees of freedom. Using the flexible multi-body dynamic analysis ADAMS, dynamic behavior of the panels such as velocities, deformations, as well as reaction forces during the deployment, are investigated in the gravity and zero-gravity cases. The reflector panel is manufactured using carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRPs) and its deployment characteristics are experimentally observed using a zero-gravity deployment test. The impact response and vibration problems that occur during deployment of the antenna panel have been identified and reliably deployed using dampers.

A Design of Feature-based Data Model Using Digital Map 2.0 (수치지도 2.0을 이용한 객체기반 데이터 모델 설계)

  • In With increase of a demand on the spatial data, the need of spatial data model which can effectively store and manege spatial objects becomes more important in many GIS applications. There are many researches on the spatial data model. Several data models were proposed for some special functions, however, there are still many problems in the management and applications. Digital Map is one of spatial data model which is being used in Korea. The existing Digital Map is based on the Tiles. This approach needs more cost in its construction and management. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a feature-based seamless data model with Digital map 2.0 which is based on Tiles. This model can be easily constructed and managed in the large databases so that it is able to apply to any systems. The proposed model uses the relationships between features to correct updated data and the Unique Feature IDentifier(UFID) also makes system to search and manage the feature data more easily and efficiently.

HSPICE Macro-Model and Midpoint-Reference Generation Circuits for MRAM (MRAM용 HSPICE 마크로 모델과 midpoint reference 발생 회로에 관한 연구)

  • MRAM uses magneto-resistance material as a storage element, which stores cell data as a polarization of spin in a free magnetic layer. This magneto-resistance material has hysteresis, asteroid curve at the thermal variation, and R-V characteristics for switching the data. Therefore, a macro-model which can reproduce these characteristics is required for MRAM simulation. We propose a macro-model of TMR (Tunneling Magneto Resistance) that can reproduce all of these characteristics on HSPICE. Also we propose a novel sensing scheme, which generates reference resistance having the medium value, ( $R_{H}$+ $R_{L}$)/2, for a wide range of applied voltage and present simulation results based on the HSPICE macro-model of MTJ that we have developed.d.d.

외부댐핑이 구름베어링-회전축계의 진동특성에 미치는 영향

  • 회전축계가 위험한 공진 또는 불안한 상태를 나타내지 않고 조용하고 안정된 운전상태를 유지하려는 목적은 축의 휨강성, 몸체형상, 베어링의 크기 및 형상과 같은 설계변수를 최적화하는 것으로 이루어질 수 없는 경우가 빈번하다. 이런 경우에는 베어링 외부에 작용하는 "외부댐핑"을 이용하여 진동문제를 근본적으로 개선할 수 있다. 이를 위하여 베어링 외부에 별도로 설계한 스프링과 댐퍼를 설치한다. 본 연구에서는 윤활이론에 따라 명확히 계산되고 그 신빙성이 실험적으로 검증된 "동압유막 댐퍼"의 감쇄계수를 이용하여 외부댐핑을 갖는 회전축-구름베어링\ulcorner와 회전축-저어널 베어링계의 진동특성을 해석하고 회전축-구름베어링계의 실험적 모델을 제시하고자한다. 또한 해석결과와 실험을 토대로 회전축계의 진동특성에 미치는 특성수 및 설계변수를 명확히 도출하여 동특성을 고려한 회전축계의 최적 설계에 기여하고자 한다.축계의 최적 설계에 기여하고자 한다.

Data Mining for Water Supply Forecasting (물 공급량 예측을 위한 데이터 마이닝 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 물 공급량 예측을 위한 다양한 알고리즘 적용에 있어서 데이터 마이닝의 효용성을 검토하고자 하였다. 물 공급분야에 있어서, 물 이용 지역의 특성에 따라 공급량과 이용 시간이 매우 상이한 특성을 나타낸다. 물 이용 지역은 주택지역, 상업지역, 산업단지지역 등 다양한 형태로 분류할 수 있고, 이에 따라 물 이용 시간의 상이함에 따른 물 공급패턴이 일정하지 않게 된다. 특히, 주택지역과 상업지역이 복합적으로 이루어진 경우, 물 이용 단위인 블록 단위에서의 물 특성이 불규칙적인 패턴을 나타낸다. 따라서, 각 블록 단위 특성에 적합한 물 이용량을 예측하여 효율적 물 공급 방안을 마련할 필요가 있다. 또한, 물 이용량 데이터 중 이상 데이타 감지와 이상 데이터 보정을 통하여 물 이용량 예측의 정확도가 향상된다. 따라서, 블록 단위의 물 이용량에 대한 원시데이타의 효율적인 데이터 마이닝 방안이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 물 공급지역의 특성에 따른 물 공급 패턴을 분석하고, 이에 적합한 데이터 마이닝 기법을 제시하고 비교 분석하였다. 제안된 데이터 마이닝 기법은 딥러닝 예측모델을 적용하여 적합성을 검증하고, 이를 물 공급량 예측알고리즘에 폭넓게 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Information-Based Hybrid Modeling Framework on the Systematic use of Artificial Neural-Networks (구조모델 개선을 위한 정보기반 하이브리드 모델링 기법)

  • In this study, a new information-based hybrid modeling framework is proposed. In the hybrid framework, a conventional mathematical model is complemented by the informational methods. The basic premise of the proposed hybrid methodology is that not all features of system response are amenable to mathematical modeling, hence considering informational alternatives. This may be because (i) the underlying theory is not available or not sufficiently developed, or (ii) the existing theory is too complex and therefore not suitable for modeling within building frame analysis. The role of informational methods is to model aspects that the mathematical model leaves out. Autoprogressive algorithm and self-learning simulation extract the missing aspects from a system response. In a hybrid framework, experimental data is an integral part of modeling, rather than being used strictly for validation processes. The potential of the hybrid methodology is illustrated through modeling complex hysteretic behavior of beam-to-column connections.
