Vibration Analysis of [$\alpha/\beta/\beta/\gamma/\alpha/\alpha/\beta$]r type Composite Laminated Plates by the Simple Method of Analysis for Preliminary Design for Civil Construction (건설용 적층복합재료판의 예비설계를 위한 간편해석법을 사용한 [$\alpha/\beta/\beta/\gamma/\alpha/\alpha/\beta$r 형 적층판의 진동해석)

  • 고급복합재료(advanced composite material)는 여러 가지 훌륭한 장점에도 불구하고 건설기술자에게는 그 이론이 너무 복잡하여 건설구조에 대한 응용이 지연되고 있다. [$\alpha/\beta/\beta/\gamma/\alpha/\alpha/\beta$]r, $\alpha$=-$\beta$, $\gamma$=0$^{\circ}$ 또는 90$^{\circ}$ 와 같은 몇 가지 배향각을 갖은 적층판은, r이 증가함에 따라, $B_{i,j}$강성이 0으로 접근한다(1995). 건설구조물은 그 치수가 커서 r이 증가해도 지간 대 두께비가 충분히 커서, 횡방향 변형율(${\varepsilon}_{xz}$,${\varepsilon}_{yz}$)의 영향이 무시될 수 있다. 이 경우 판의 지배방정식은 간단한 특별직교이방성판의 식으로 변화된다. 김덕현은 토목구조물에 흔히 적용될 수 있는 이러한 배향각을 가진 적층판의 지배방정식을 취급이 간단한 특별직교 이방성 판의 경우로 변경시킨 다음 해석을 더 간단히 진행할 수 있도록 기술자들이 유사 등방성 상수(quasi-isotropic constant)를 사용하여 낮익은 등방성판의 방정식을 사용하여 답을 구한 다음 그가 개발한 "수정계수(correction factor)"를 사용하여 "정확한"해를 구하는 방법을 발표한바 있다(1991).는 방법을 발표한바 있다(1991).

  • In this paper presented, a design method of sandwich slab bridge of simple supported made by composite materials. Many of the bridge systems, including the girders and cross-beams, and concrete decks behave as the special orthotropic plates. Such systems with sections, boundary conditions other than Navier or Levy solution types, or with irregular cross sections, analytical solution is very difficult to obtain. Thus, Finite Difference Method is used for analysis of the pertinent problem. For the design of bridge made by the composite materials, cross-section is used the form-core shape because of this shape is economical and profitable, and for output of the stress value used F.D.M. Based the experimental of a composite specialist, an equation expressing the rate of decrease of tensile strength of glass fibers based on increase of mass was obtained. From these equations, one can estimate the rate of tensile strength reduction due to increased size. Tasi-Wu failure criterion for stress space is used. Strength-failure analysis procedure, using these reduced tensile strength, is presented.

The Effect of Neglecting the Longitudinal Moment Terms in Analyzing Laminates with Increasing Aspect Ratio (적층판 해석시 형상비 증가에 따른 종방향 모멘트의 무시효과)

  • Theories for advanced composite structures are too difficult for such design engineers for construction and some simple but accurate enough methods are necessary. The senior author has reported that some laminate orientations have decreasing values of $D_{16}$, $B_{16}$, $D_{26}$ and $B_{26}$ stiffnesses as the ply number increases. For such plates the fiber orientations given above behave as specially orthotropic plates and simple formulas developed by the senior author. Most of the bidge and building slabs on girders have large aspect ratios For such cases frurther simplification is possible by neglecting the effect of the longitudinal moment terms(Mx) on the relevant partial differential equationsof equilibrium In this paper, the result of the study on the subject problem is presented.

  • The simple supported reinforced concrete slab bridges are analyzed by the specially orthotropic laminates theory. This method, however, may be too difficult for some practising engineers. In this paper, the result of analysis for such plate by means of the beam theory with unit width is reported. By using the "correction factor", the accurate solution for the plate can be obtained by the beam theory. The result of this paper can be used for reinforced concrete slab bridges analysis by the engineers with undergraduate study in near future.

  • A post-tensioned reinforced concrete slab bridge is analyzed by specially orthotropic laminate theory. Symmetrically reinforced slab with tension and compression steel is considered for convenience of analysis. Each longitudinal and transverse steel layer is regarded as a lamina, and material constants of each lamina is calculated by the use of the rule of mixture. This bridge is under uniformly distributed vertical loads, and axial loads and end moments due to post-tensioning. In this paper, finite difference method is used for numerical analysis of this bridge. Theory and analysis method of specially orthotropic laminate plates used in this paper can be used for design of new bridges, and maintenance and repair of old bridges.

  • A post-tensioned steel plate girder bridge with cross-beams is analyzed by specially orthotropic laminate theory. The cross-sections of both girders and cross-beams are WF types. The result is compared with that of the beam theory. This bridge with simple support is under uniformly distributed vertical load, and axial loads and moment due to post-tension. In this paper, finite difference method for numerical analysis of simple supported bridge is developed. Relatively exact solution is obtained even with small number of meshes. Theory and analysis method of specially orthotropic laminate plates used in this paper can be used in design of new bridges, and maintenance and repair of old bridges.

  • The Special orthotropic plate theory is used for analysis of panels made of steel girders and cross-beams, and made of reinforced concrete. The cross-sections of girders and cross-beams are WF types. The result is compared with that of the beam theory. According to the numerical examination given in this paper, the result by the plate theory is 2.43 times stiffer than that of beam theory, The result for the concrete slab in given for the practicing engineers.

  • It is difficult for civil engineer to apply composite materials of laminated type to structure for civil construction because of complicated theory although those have much merit. A simple method by which one can predict "exact" values of the natural frequency of vibration of laminated plates is presented. Many laminates with particular orientations have negligible values of $B_{16}$ and $B_{26}$ as the number of plies increases. Such laminates, with $D_{16}$ = $D_{26}$ ->0 can be solved by the same equation as for the special orthotropic laminates(1991,1995). If the quasi-isotrpic constants are used, It is possible to simplify analysis procedure since the equations for isotropic plates can be used. Use of some coefficients can produce "exact" values for laminates with such configuration. This coefficient, in fact, represents the effect of the anisotropy of the laminate. D. H. Kim proposed to use a correction factor, he developed, to produce "exact" solution out of the approximate solution obtained by using the quasi-isotropic constants(1995). In this paper, the fiber orienation studied is [$\alpha$/$\beta$/$\beta$/$\gamma$/$\alpha$/$\alpha$/$\beta$]r, with $\alpha$=-$\beta$, and $\gamma$${\gamma}$=$0^{\circ}$ or $90^{\circ}$ and the above-mentioned method is used to obtain the natural frequencies of plates with such orientations, and detailed result is presented for the use of engineers.nted for the use of engineers.
