Measuring Similarity Between Movies Based on Sentiment of Tweets (트위터를 활용한 감성 기반의 영화 유사도 측정)

  • As a Social Network Service (SNS) has become an integral part of our everyday lives, millions of users can express their opinion and share information regardless of time and place. Hence sentiment analysis using micro-blogs has been studied in various field to know people's opinion on particular topics. Most of previous researches on movie reviews consider only positive and negative sentiment and use it to predict movie rating. As people feel not only positive and negative but also various emotion, the sentiment that people feel while watching a movie need to be classified in more detail to extract more information than personal preference. We measure sentiment distributions of each movie from tweets according to the Thayer's model. Then, we find similar movies by calculating similarity between each sentiment distributions. Through the experiments, we verify that our method using micro-blogs performs better than using only genre information of movies.

Tweet Acquisition System by Considering Location Information and Tendency of Twitter User (트위터 사용자의 위치정보와 성향을 고려한 트윗 수집 시스템)

  • While SNS services such as Twitter or Facebook are rapidly growing, research for the SNS analysis has been concerned. Especially, twitter reacts to social issues in real-time so that it is used to get useful experimental data for researchers of social science or information retrieval. However, it is still lack of research on the methodology to collect data. Therefore, this paper suggests the tweet acquisition system by considering tendency of twitter user oriented location-based event and political social event. First the system acquires tweets including information of location and keyword about event and secure IDs for acquisition of political social event. Then we plan ID-analyzer to classify the tendency of users. In addition for measuring reliability of ID-analyzer, it acquires and analyzes the tweet by using high-ranked ID. In analyses result, top-ranked ID shows 88.8% reliability, 2nd-ranked ID shows 76.05% and ID-analyzer shows 77.5%, it shortens collection time by using minority ID.

Study on the Influence of Enterprise Features of SNS Service on Relationship Commitment and On-line Word-of-Mouth (기업의 SNS서비스 특성이 관계몰입과 온라인 구전의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 -이용 빈도를 조절효과로-)

  • Recently, in order to promote their marketing promotion, the entrepeneurs attach importance to many SNS services and execute it. The representative elements of the SNS service are interactivity, information offering. This study analyzes empirical effects on the SNS service depending on the Relationship Commitment and shows the strategies to enlarge the use frequency and the On-line Word-of-Mouth. The conclusion of this study shows that the Interactivity has a higher positive effects on Affective Commitment than those on information offering and Information offering has stronger positive effects on calculative commitment than interactivity. Also, these effects enlarge the high use frequency more than the low use frequency. This study also shows that the information offering affect the On-line Word-of-Mouth more positively than the Interactivity. And this study shows that SNS service affects the positive effects on the relationship commitment rather than the On-line Word-of-Mouth. Based on the results, the practical implications are offered.

Feature Expansion based on LDA Word Distribution for Performance Improvement of Informal Document Classification (비격식 문서 분류 성능 개선을 위한 LDA 단어 분포 기반의 자질 확장)

  • Data such as Twitter, Facebook, and customer reviews belong to the informal document group, whereas, newspapers that have grammar correction step belong to the formal document group. Finding consistent rules or patterns in informal documents is difficult, as compared to formal documents. Hence, there is a need for additional approaches to improve informal document analysis. In this study, we classified Twitter data, a representative informal document, into ten categories. To improve performance, we revised and expanded features based on LDA(Latent Dirichlet allocation) word distribution. Using LDA top-ranked words, the other words were separated or bundled, and the feature set was thus expanded repeatedly. Finally, we conducted document classification with the expanded features. Experimental results indicated that the proposed method improved the micro-averaged F1-score of 7.11%p, as compared to the results before the feature expansion step.

Related Term Extraction with Proximity Matrix for Query Related Issue Detection using Twitter (트위터를 이용한 질의어 관련 이슈 탐지를 위한 인접도 행렬 기반 연관 어휘 추출)

  • Social network services(SNS) including Twitter and Facebook are good resources to extract various issues like public interest, trend and topic. This paper proposes a method to extract query-related issues by calculating relatedness between terms in Twitter. As a term that frequently appears near query terms should be semantically related to a query, we calculate term relatedness in retrieved documents by summing proximity that is proportional to term frequency and inversely proportional to distance between words. Then terms, relatedness of which is bigger than threshold, are extracted as query-related issues, and our system shows those issues with a connected network. By analyzing single transitions in a connected network, compound words are easily obtained.

A Study on the Influence of Relation Commitment of SNS Marketing Features in Domestic Enterprise (국내기업의 SNS 마케팅 특성이 관계몰입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

Natural Language Processing-based Personalized Twitter Recommendation System (자연어 처리 기반 맞춤형 트윗 추천 시스템)

  • Twitter users use 'Following', 'Retweet' and so on to find tweets that they are interested in. However, it is difficult for users to find tweets that are of interest to them on Twitter, which has more than 300 million users. In this paper, we developed a customized tweet recommendation system to resolve it. First, we gather current trends to collect tweets that are worth recommending to users and popular tweets that talk about trends. Later, to analyze users and recommend customized tweets, the users' tweets and the collected tweets are categorized. Finally, using Web service, we recommend tweets that match with user categorization and users whose interests match. Consequentially, we recommended 67.2% of proper tweet.

Sentiment Analysis of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Using Tweet Text-Mining Technique (트윗 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 이용한 구제역의 감성분석)

  • Due to the FMD(foot-and-mouth disease), the domestic animal husbandry and related industries suffer enormous damage every year. Although various academic researches related to FMD are ongoing, engineering studies on the social effects of FMD are very limited. In this study, we propose a systematic methodology to analyze emotional responses of regular citizens on FMD using text mining techniques. The proposed system first collects data related to FMD from the tweets posted on Twitter, and then performs a polarity classification process using a deep-learning technique. Second, keywords are extracted from the tweet using LDA, which is one of the typical techniques of topic modeling, and a keyword network is constructed from the extracted keywords. Finally, we analyze the various social effects of regular citizens on FMD through keyword network. As a case study, we performed the emotional analysis experiment of regular citizens about FMD from July 2010 to December 2011 in Korea.

Exploring Twitter Follower-Networks of Startup Companies Employing Social Network Analysis and Cluster Analysis (소셜네트워크 분석과 클러스터 분석 방법을 활용한 스타트업 회사의 트위터 팔로워 네트워크에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • The importance of business strategy for successful social media engagement has quickly increased as more businesses engage in social media. The importance is even greater for startup companies because startup companies are genuinely new to business, and they need to increase their presence in the market, and quickly access future customers. The objective of this paper lies in exploring key indicators of social media engagements by selected startup companies. The key indicators include two aspects of social media usages by the companies: i) overall social media activities, and ii) properties of network structure of the information flow platform provided by social media service. To better assess and evaluate the key indicators of social media usages by startup companies, the indicators will be compared with those of selected large established companies. Twitter is selected as a social media service for the analysis of this paper, and using Twitter REST API, data regarding the key indicators of overall Twitter activities and the Twitter follower-network of each company in the sample are collected. Then, the data are analyzed using social network analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis to examine the characteristics of the follower-network structures and to compare the characteristics between startup companies and established companies. The results show that most indicators are significantly different across startup companies and established companies. One key interesting finding is that the startup companies have proportionally more influencers in their follower-networks than the established companies have. Another interesting finding is that the follower-networks of startup companies in the sample have higher modularity and higher transitivity, suggesting that the startup companies tend to have a proportionally larger number of communities of users in their follower-networks, and the users in the networks are more tightly connected and cohesive internally. The key business implication for the future social media engagement efforts by startup companies in general is that startup companies may need to focus on getting more attention from influencers and promoting more cohesive communities in their follower-networks to appreciate the potential benefits of social media in the early stage of business of startup companies.

An Analysis of the Discourse Topics of Users who Exhibit Symptoms of Depression on Social Media (소셜미디어를 통한 우울 경향 이용자 담론 주제 분석)

  • Depression is a serious psychological disease that is expected to afflict an increasing number of people. And studies on depression have been conducted in the context of social media because social media is a platform through which users often frankly express their emotions and often reveal their mental states. In this study, large amounts of Korean text were collected and analyzed to determine whether such data could be used to detect depression in users. This study analyzed data collected from Twitter users who had and did not have depressive tendencies between January 2016 and February 2019. The data for each user was separately analyzed before and after the appearance of depressive tendencies to see how their expression changed. In this study the data were analyzed through co-occurrence word analysis, topic modeling, and sentiment analysis. This study's automated data collection method enabled analyses of data collected over a relatively long period of time. Also it compared the textual characteristics of users with depressive tendencies to those without depressive tendencies.
