An interface or integration among various information system is needed to construct knowledge management infrastructure. Particularly, digital library and knowledge management system have to be implemented in the view of integration for activating interaction of organizational knowledge. So this study conducts comparative analysis between two systems in the perspective of knowledge management key factors, and then explores the ways toward an integration model. The integration model is designed for activating user interface and consistent flow of knowledge. This model is expected to contribute to increase the performance of knowledge management.

멀티미디어 서비스 제공을 위해 Havi, Jini, LonWorks, UPnP, SLP 등 여러 미들웨어들이 현존하고 있음에도 불구하고, 홈네트워크가 계속 진화함에 따라 다양한 정보가전들에 대해 특화된 새로운 미들웨어들이 계속해서 등장할 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문은 홈네트워크 상에서 이질적인 미들웨어 간의 상호 연동을 위한 통합 구조 방식에 대해 고찰하고, 효율적인 멀티미디어 서비스 지원을 위하여 기존 방식과는 달리 이질적인 미들웨어를 통합하는 표준 메소드 기반의 통합 구조를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 HOMI 구조 (HOmenetwork Middleware for Interoperability)는 이기종 미들웨어간의 연동을 위해 표준 메소드를 사용하여 이기종 장치들이 서비스를 인식하고 사용할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제공한다. HOMI는 이러한 인터페이스를 통하여 기존의 통합 미들웨어 구조와는 다르게 표준 메소드를 사용하여 장치들간의 연동을 가능하게 함으로써 홈네트워크를 위한 이기종 가전들간 연동의 효율성과 편리성을 향상시켰다. HOMI는 댁내에 존재하는 멀티미디어 데이터 관리를 위하여 통합 멀티미디어 데이터관리 매니저를 두고, 장치들간에 연동이 가능하도록 함으로써 분산되어 있는 멀티미디어 데이터와 서비스를 언제 어디서든지 서비스 받을 수 있도록 지원한다. 마지막으로 HOMI는 통합 미들웨어를 위한 중앙 집중형 구조에서 멀티미디어 데이터 전송에 의한 부하 문제를 Agent들을 여러 장치에 분산할 수 있도록 함으로써 해결하였다.

We propose an extremely light DDXMI approach for semi-automated integration of both structurally and semantically heterogeneous distributed XML documents. In the proposed prototype, a DDXMI(Distributed Documents XML Metadata Interface) is defined and a user interface generator is developed. The prototype takes sources' DTDs as inputs and generates a friendly graphical user interface for the application users. The user can easily describe the semantic mapping between the integrated virtual database DTD and sources' DTDs through assigning index numbers and specifying associated function names so that the DDXMI based on the mappings is automatically generated. Quilt is selected as the XML query language which processes user queries according to the DDXMI. It is assumed that the application users know what they want from the different sources, that is, they have their own integrated database schema in their mind, and know the semantics of the involved XML databases. A small-size global DTD and a mid-size global DTB are generated to verify the rluery generation and retrieval results with 3 XML document databases, that is, Master/ph.D thesis, research reports, and journal databases. The system has been developed with JavaCC and Java Servelet.

Recently, various home appliances are inter connected in wired/wireless network to provide a single service, but their interfaces are not uniformly integrated. In order to get a service in such an environment, users have to figure out how to control each appliance and the way of combining its functions with others. Even worse to the users, many buttons are barely used to control the complicated functions of the appliances on the remote controllers, and controllers have very similar shapes in each other. In this paper, based on the definitions of a task as a unit of services provided in the environment of multi-connected appliances, we propose a markup language for home appliances, called HAML (Home Appliance Markup Language), for generating task-based user interfaces to help controlling multi-connected appliances as one pleases. The proposed method generates interfaces by gathering the buttons frequently used and necessary for tasks, and provides automatic settings of multi-connected appliances. The proposed method is verified with an analysis of scenarios and usability tests.

Along with the innovative enhancement of Internet technology and the emergency of distributed systems extended from client-server computing, it becomes indispensible and necessary to integrate and interconnect old legacy systems. Since building a distributed system requires consistency of integration, the proper reuse of incumbent systems is critical to successful integration of current systems to distributed ones. CORBA(Common Object Request Broker Architecture) and object wrapping technique can provide middleware solutions that extend the applications of a legacy system with little modification to the application level while keeping client consistency of standard interface. By using these techniques for system integration it is easier and faster to extend services on application development to distributed environments. We propose a model on object wrapping system that can manage, integrate, and separate the functions delivered from CORBA. We apply the object wrapping model specifically to integration of security system interfaces and also perform a test to verify the usability and the efficiency of our model.

인터넷의 급성장으로 소프트웨어 환경이 웹으로 급속하게 전환함으로써 사용성 중심 설계가 새로운 패러다임으로 등장하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자 중심 설계의 문제점을 보완하여, 사용성 중심 설계를 기반으로 효율적인 사용자 인터페이스 프로토타입의 생성과정을 제안하였다. 요구분석 시나리오를 기반으로 사용성 중심의 요구분서 프로세스를 개발하여 미숙한 설계자도 수준 높은 프로토타입을 개발할 수 있고, 프로토타입의 반복 횟수를 줄일 수 있게 하였다. 그리고 웹 환경에 적합한 사용성 중심의 사용자 인터페이스 프로토타입을 생성함으로써 통합 설계를 지원하기 위한 통합 모델링 언어(UML)를 지원할 수 있도록 하였다.

도시 운영 시스템들은 모두 자기 고유의 솔루션을 제공하기 위해서 개발되고 있으며, 또한 이들 운영 시스템들에서 제공되는 서비스를 통합하여, 도시 운영의 효율화를 꽤하고 있는 추세이다. 지하매설배관의 실시간 통합 유지관리를 위하여 최상위의 관제 및 유지관리 서버 소프트웨어와 정보전달 체계를 연결하기 위해서는 호환성을 유지하기 위한 인터페이스가 필요하다. 이를 위하여 스마트시티를 끌어가는 국내의 다양한 플랫폼 운영 소프트웨어를 조사하고. 시장 지배력이 가장 큰 플랫폼을 선정하여 이들이 가지고 있는 정보전달 인터페이스에 맞도록 소프트웨어 모듈 개발을 위한 연구를 수행하였다.

본 논문에서는 휴대단말용 유무선 통합 브라우저를 위한 다중 문서 파싱 시스템을 제안한다. 현재 유무선 인터넷 서비스를 지원하기 위해 단일화된 표준 마크업 언어가 없다. 따라서, 유무선 통합 브라우저를 설계하려면 이들 각기 다른 마크업 언어의 지원을 생각하지 않을 수 없다. 이를 지원하기 위해 본 논문에서는 모든 마크업의 공통 분모 격인 파서를 설계하였으며, 각기 다른 사양의 휴대단말에 적합하게 표현하기 위해 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스 객체를 생성하는 방법을 제안하기로 한다. 이를 위해, 파서는 마크업 언어의 그래픽 기능을 휴대단말에서 지원 가능한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스 객체 형태의 결과물을 만들어 내다. 이 결과물은 추후에 브라우저의 사용자 인터페이스 모듈과 연동될 것이다. 이러한 파싱 시스템은 브라우저로 하여금 모든 언어를 파싱할 수 있도록 하는 한편, 여러 언어 표준을 지원하려는 브라우저에 부담을 최소화시키는 기법이다.

철도 신호제어장치들은 각자 고유의 기능을 수행하면서 각 장치간 통신링크를 통하여 하나의 신호제어시스템을 구성하고 있다. 특히 철도청에서 통합 CTC 시스템을 구축하면서 신호제어시스템 이외의 SCADA나 여객정보안내 시스템 등과도 인터페이스를 통해 기존의 열차제어 기능만을 수행하는 것에서 타 시스템과의 통신을 통한 종합적인 정보시스템으로 발전하고 있다. 이러한 CTC장치와 외부설비들간의 인터페이스는 철도정보시스템의 발달에 따라 매우 중요한 부분이 되고 있으며, 본 논문에서는 이중 SCADA 장치와의 인터페이스를 위한 프로토콜 구조를 연구하였다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 기존의 도시철도, 경부고속철도 등의 프로토콜의 분석을 바탕으로 철도청 통합 CTC와 SCADA 장치간 통신을 위해 설계한 프로토콜 구조를 제시하고, 또한 설계한 프로토콜에 대한 안전성과 필연성을 정형검증(Formal Verification) 결과를 설명한다.

최근 들어 컴퓨터 산업과 정보화 사회의 발달은 많은 정보 이용자들에게 편리함을 주고 있으며 온라인 정보소스와 정보 이용자 수는 인터넷과 통신기술의 확산으로 급속히 증가하고 있다. 이러한 상황 변화는 정보시스템간의 통합을 요구하며 특히 도서 검색 시스템 통합에 많은 영향을 주었으며 웹을 기반으로 하는 도서검색 서비스는 여러 지역의 도서 자료 통합이 절실하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 웹을 기반으로 하여 하나의 인터페이스를 통하여 여러 도서 검색 서비스를 통합할 수 있는 통합 전자 도서 검색 시스템을 설계, 구현하였다.
