중앙정부나 지자체를 중심으로 지리정보체계(GIS)구축사업이 광범위하게 추진되고 있는 지금, 지리정보구축에 소요되는 비용에 대한 부담으로 인해 각 기관들에 산재된 지리정보의 공동 활용이 매우 중요시 되고 있다. 이에 따라 지리정보 생산 및 관리의 효율성과 이용의 활성화를 도모하기 위하여 '지리정보목록의작성및관리에관한지침'이 2002년 제정되어 시행되고 있다 현재 국가지리정보유통망에서의 활용을 위해 유통용 메타데이터 표준이 제정되어 있지만, 지리정보관리기관의 효율적인 지리정보 관리를 위해서는 부족한 부분이 많은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 동 지침에 의거하여 ISO 19115에 부합되는 새로운 통합 국가메타데이터 표준(안) 개발을 목적으로 메타데이터 표준화 연구를 수행하였다. 국가메타데이터 표준(안)은 유통용 메타데이터 표준을 모두 수용하고, 기존 메타데이터와의 비교분석을 바탕으로 효율적인 지리정보 관리를 위한 관리용 메타데이터 항목을 추가하여 총 13개 섹션으로 설계되었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 국가메타데이터 표준(안)을 통해서 우선 사용목적에 맞는 다양한 지리정보를 검색하고 활용하기 위한 표준화된 기반이 구축되어 공공부문 및 민간부문의 GIS 활성화를 위한 커다란 초석이 마련될 것으로 판단된다.

Most metadata quality measurement employ simple techniques by counting error records. This study presents a new quantitative measurement of metadata quality using advanced weighting schemes in order to overcome the limitations of exiting measurement techniques. Entropy, user tasks, and usage statistics were used to calculate the weights. Integrated weights were presented by combining these weights and were applied to actual journal article metadata. Entropy weights were found to reflect the characteristics of the data itself. User tasks presented the required metadata elements to solve user's information need. Integrated weights showed balanced measures without being affected by the influence of error elements, This finding indicates the new method being suitable for quantitative measurement of metadata quality.

최근 정부에서 국내 물관리일원화를 추진함에 따라 수자원에 대한 양적, 질적, 파생적 기능의 통합적 관리를 위한 기술적 기반의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 지금까지 국내에서는 하천, 호소 등 수자원에 대한 수질관리와 수량관리가 별도로 이루어지다보니, 수질 및 수량에 대해 관측지점, 관측시점 등이 모두 다른 실정이다. 상호 간 영향이 뚜렷한 수량 및 수질을 연계하여 관리하기 위해서는 수체 내 동일 지점에 대한 관측데이터 관리가 우선적으로 필요하다. 그러려면 수량-수질 연계 관리에 필요한 데이터 항목 및 관계 등의 설계가 중요하다. 즉, 데이터를 단순히 모아놓는 것이 아닌 효과적인 관리를 위한 빅데이터 큐레이션이 필요하다. 따라서 이러한 필요성에 근거하여 본 연구에서는 수량-수질 연계 관리가 가능한 데이터관리시스템을 구축하기 위해 온톨로지 기반 메타데이터를 설계 및 분석하고자 한다. 관계형 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 방법론으로는 먼저 수량 및 수질 도메인의 데이터 항목의 관계성을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 온톨로지 기반의 메타데이터를 설정한다. 온톨로지를 활용하면 해당 도메인에서 데이터 간 관계성을 보다 분명하게 정의할 수 있다. 데이터를 클래스나 인스턴스에 정의하고, 각 데이터 간 관계를 속성에 정의한다. 또한 수량-수질 데이터 연계 관리 시 고려하여야 할 요소를 분석하여 제시한다. 이를 통해 수량-수질 데이터 연계 관리에 있어 온톨로지 기반 메타데이터의 적용성 및 효율성을 파악할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

XML is becoming a new developing tool of web technology because of its ability of data management and flexibility in data presentation. So it's well researched that the reusability and integration with learning objects such as text, image, sound, video and plug-in programs of web contents in computer education. But the research for storing, extracting and integrating metadata about learning object was needed prior to implementing online learning system to integrate and manage it. Therefore this study propose a new method of using web service of DBMS for extracting learning object's metadata in database server which located in 3-tier system. To evaluate the efficiency of proposed method, The test server and two DBMSs(MS SQL Server 2000 and Oracle 9i) which have 30 metadata was implemented and the response time of it was measured. The response time of it was short, but in order to using this method the additional programming with SAX/DOM was necessary.

The goal of this study was to examine the relationships between usability and the searching experience, and to uncover where an integrated cataloging and metadata system lay the usability problems of its primary users, catalogers. This study showed that the most important aspect of usability in Connexion lay in the experience of information retrieval system. Also, it showed there are seventeen usability problems to be improved in Connexion. Needless to say, it is most important to note that usability is not an exclusive goal of such an integrated cataloging and metadata system. Other goals such as quality of catalogs, and the reliability of its cataloging and metadata system are equally its concern. This study also suggested more testing on diverse cataloging systems and specific user groups, especially catalogers.

방대한 양의 데이터를 처리하는 요구가 증가하면서 그로부터 유용한 정보를 추출해낼 수 있는 방법에 대한 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 메타데이터(metadata)를 관리하는 파일 시스템은 이러한 일을 빠르고 효과적으로 수행할 수 있는 방법 중 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 통합적인 메타데이터 관리를 가능하게 하고, 임베디드(embedded) 환경으로도 확장이 가능한 새로운 파일 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 기존 리눅스(Linux) 파일 시스템을 바탕으로 새로운 파일 시스템을 설계하고 제시한다. 이렇게 설계된 파일 시스템은 사용자와 응용 프로그램에게 데이터의 다양한 뷰(view)를 제공할 수 있고 시스템 상에 존재하는 많은 양의 데이터를 통합하여 효율적으로 관리 할 수 있다.

Nowadays, the demand of the output analyzed from the grid data have been sharply increased as the remote sensing technologies and GIS related industry have been developed. Therefore, a metadata access system which fits the requirements of the users should be developed for better managing and utilizing gridded data. In this background, this study defined a common application schema through the analysis of the metadata built by numerous institutes based on the draft metadata standards. The draft metadata standards has been proposed from the study supported by ETRI at 2003 which mainly concentrated on establishing the standards of distributing metadata for the grid data. Also, XML based integrated system was developed to access metadata maintained by SaTReC as well as SIMC to facilitate more convenient data access for the grid data users. The results of the pilot system developed from this study can be expected to contribute to build more efficient and enlarged integrated access system of metadata for grid data.

During the past 10 years, serious game industry has been growing steadily. But the system which could stably and reliably provide metadata information and quality information related to serious game remained unexploited. Existing systems only support the basic management functions of metadata search centered. Therefore, we have developed an integrated system to manage the quality information of serious game as well as to improve the inconvenient details of the existing systems. And we designed quality evaluation elements and quality information supply-methods, and linked up them to the system. Furthermore, we conducted user's satisfaction assessment survey on the use of the system. The advantage of the system is that the system provide a lot of useful information for general users and developers, and support a tool to manage all information related to serious game by easy and convenient method for managers.

One of the most interests is currently a field related with serious game. Also, the scale of serious game industry is rapid quantitative growth every year. For effective management of metadata of serious game is an important issue so that we propose design of integrated management system for effective management of metadata of serious game. The system provide a service based on internet. Users(general users, developers, experts and managers of metadata) of serious game who can carry out effectively works using proposed system such as new metadata information input, existing metadata information search, generated document files(HTML, XML, EXCEL, MS-WORD) as search results saving into their owns local computer system and so on.

본 연구에서는 기록물 자료를 관리 수 있는 메타데이터 형식을 설계하기 위해서 기록물의 목록 규칙과 관련된 네 가지 종류의 자료 즉 국제표준기록물기술$\ulcorner$ISAD(G)], 미국 기록물/필사본 기계가독목록(USMARC AMC), MARC21 및 EAD(Encoded Archival Description)를 참조한 다음 전통적인 도서관 자료와의 통합검색을 가능하게 하면서 기록물정보의 고유의 속성을 잘 표현할 메타데이터(목록 레코드와 인벤토리)를 설계하여 구현해 보았다.
