Estimation of Air Flow Rate in Automotive Ventilated Seat (자동차 통풍 시트의 유량 평가)

  • In ventilated seats for cars, air flow is generated by a fan and passed through a foam pad, foam filter, and seat cover. There is a significant loss of air flow in this process, and it is not easy to analyze the amount delivered to the driver. Another difficulty is the geometric complexity of the air flow passage inside the seats. In this paper, the air flow through a foam pad was analyzed. Proper modeling of the bumps in the ventilation mat was found to be important in the analysis. Air flow is lost when it passes through the porous pad foam, which was measured and used to correct the analysis results. The corrected analysis results were in a good agreement with the experimental results. The amount of air flow delivered to a driver was measured using an airflow cone. Only 35.7% of the air flow from the fan was delivered.

Isolation of a Novel Polyphenol from Oolong Tea and Its Effective Prevention of the Gout (우롱차로터 새로운 Polyphenol 분리 및 통풍 예방 효과)

  • Eighty percent of acetone extract were isolated from the leaves of Korean Oolong tea using Sephadex LH-20, MCI-gel, Fuji gel. The compound reacted the red and the blue with anisaldehyde and $FeCl_3$, respectively. Instrumental analysis of the derivatives of this compound showed that the chemical structure was decided to $epicatechin-(4{\beta}{\rightarrow}8)-epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate$ as a kind of dimeric proanthocyanidine, that bound with -(-)epicatechin and -(-)epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate, at the upper and the lower, respectively. Considering inhibition effect on xanthin oxidase by 62% levels at $50{\;}{\mu}mole$, this compound showed a possibility to be used as a new material for functional food.

  • To extend shelf life of mulberry fruits, usually expensive freeze drying of freezing process is required. In this study an economic to multipurpose agricultural products dryers with mulberry dryer and technique was developed to reduce postharvest processing cost. Fuel and electricity consumption for drying were lowest when drying temperature was $60^{\circ}C$. And various drying conditions (fuel 3 hrs, heat 1 hr, room temperature air velocity 51 hrs) of the developed dryer were analyzed to improve drying performance. Dried mulberry fruits had dark brown color and marketable high quality explain the semi-dried characteristics.

  • In this study, Pleurotus ostreatus No.42 was cultured in glucose-peptone-yeast-wheat bran medium using a previously reported novel rotary draft tube bioreactor. Versatile peroxidase (VP), a lignin-degrading enzyme, was isolated from a pellet-type mycelium culture grown in the medium for seven days. The VP was purified by sequentially applying ultra-filtration, DEAE-Sepharose CL-6B column, and Mono Q column. SDS-PAGE analysis revealed the molecular weight of VP to be 36.4 KDa with an isoelectric point of 3.65. The amino acid sequence was confirmed as VTCATGQTT. The purified VP was observed to possess the property of not only oxidizing Mn ions but also decomposing veratryl alcohol, a non-phenolic compound. The catalytic ability of VP is a subject for future research.

Physiological Functionalities and Enzyme Activities of Non-pathogenic Pigmented Wild Yeasts (비병원성 야생 색소 효모들의 생리활성과 효소활성)

  • This study aimed to produce novel bioactive compounds from non-pathogenic pigmented wild yeasts. Culture supernatants and cell-free extracts of non-pathogenic pigmented yeast strains were prepared, and their physiological functionalities and enzyme activities were measured. Cell-free extracts from Rhodosporidium paludigenum HHGG35-1 and culture supernatants from Rhodosporidium diobovatum NMD18-1 demonstrated very high antioxidant activity (76.6%) and anti-gout xanthin oxidase inhibitory activity (86.2%), respectively. Maximal production of the antioxidants (76.9%) was obtained when Rh. Paludigenum HHGG35-1 was cultured in a yeasts extract-peptone-dextrose (YPD) medium (pH 6.5) at 30℃ for 24 h. The xanthin oxidase inhibitor was also maximally produced (91.6%) when Rh. Diobovatum NMD18-1 was cultured at 30℃ for 96h in a YPD medium (pH 6.5). Rh. Paludigenum HHGG35-1 was oval in shape and formed ascospre. The Rh.diobovatum NMD18-1 specimen displayed dimensions of 1.6 × 1.6 ㎛ and produced ascospores; however, it did not form pseudomycelium. Both of Rh. Paludigenum HHGG35-1 and Rh. Diobovatum NMD18-1 grew well in a 40%-glucose-containing YPD medium and 10%-NaCl-containing YPD medium.

  • This paper describes the proceedings of creating countermeasures after analysis and maintenance be able to conduct operation safely in a power plant. in order to operate the power plant in a stable and reliable way, the best condition of the govemor system can be maintained through the response characteristic analysis of the control device for the pitch blade control hydraulic actuator. The fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator of a 500MW large-scale boiler is frequently operated under normal operation conditions. Common problems or malfunctions of the pitch blade control hydraulic actuators leads to the decline of boiler thermal efficiency and unexpected power plant trip. The inlet and outlet gas can be controlled by using the fan pitch blade control hydraulic actuator in order to regulate the internal pressure of the furnace and control the frequency in the power plant facility which utilizes soft coals as a power source.

  • 생물학적 통풍법은 유류오염 지역에 자주 적용되는 정화공법이다. 이 과정은 지중에 산소를 충분히 공급함으로서 토착 미생물에 의한 오염성분의 분해를 가능하게 한다. 따라서 이 공법의 적용시 공정진행에 따른 공법의 효율성 분석과 장기적인 정화효율 예측을 위한 지중 가스성분의 모니터링 시스템 도입이 매우 중요하다. 그러나 우리나라에서는 아직 그 적용사례가 보고된 바 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현장에서 토양가스 성분의 변화를 모니터링할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하여 적용한 사례를 시스템의 구성과 측정방법, 관측결과를 중심으로 소개하였다. 현장적용 결과는 토양가스 모니터링 시스템은 운용 시작 후 6개월동안 센서나 측정장비에서 문제가 발생되지 않았으며, 공정관리를 위한 공법효율성 분석에 필요한 자료를 지속적으로 제공하고 있다.

  • Ramie는 통풍이 잘 되고 시원하며 가볍고 촉감이 깔깔하여 우리 나라에서 예로부터 여름 옷감으로 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 가격이 비싸고 열에 약한 단점이 있어 가격이 저렴하고 형태 안정성이 우수한 PET와 혼방된 제품으로써 많이 생산되고 있다. 혼방물의 염색 시 각 섬유는 본연의 특성에 맞는 염료를 사용하여 염색하게 되는데, 제품으로 사용하기 위해서는 염색 후 두 섬유의 색 강도를 같게 해줘야 한다. 그러므로 Ramie 섬유의 염색에 사용되는 반응성 염료와 PET 섬유의 염색 시 사용되는 분산염료가 같은 색강도를 가질 수있도록 각 염료의 농도를 찾아내는 것이 중요하다. 혼방물의 염색방법에는 각 섬유의 적합한 염색 조건에 맞는 2개의 염욕에서 순차적으로 염색하는 2욕 염색법과 하나의 염욕에서 각 섬유에 적합한 염색을 진행시키는 1욕 염색법이 있다. 2욕 염색법은 각 염료의 최적조건에서 염색하므로 염색성 및 견뢰도를 극대할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있는 반면, 소요시간이 길고 폐수의 양이 많다는 점을 고려할 때 향후 1욕 염색법이 경제적, 환경적 측면에서 효율적이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 Ramie/PET 혼방섬유의 1욕 염색법과 2욕 염색법을 이용한 염색성을 고찰을 통해 1욕 염색법의 적용 가능성을 고찰하였다.
