Medical Implementation of Microarray Technology (마이크로어레이 분석기법의 임상적용에 관한 연구)

  • Microarray technology represents a critical new advance in molecular cytogenetics. The development of this approach has provided fundamental insights into the molecular pathogenesis in clinical cytogenetics and has provided a clue to many unidentified or unexplained diseases. The approach allows a comprehensive investigation of thousands and millions of genomic loci simultaneously and enables the efficient detection of copy number alterations. The application of this technology has shown tremendous fluidity and complexity of the human genome, and has provided accurate diagnosis and appropriate clinical management in a timely and efficient manner for identifying genomic alterations. The clinical impact of the genomic alterations identified by microarrays is evolving into a diagnostic tool to identify high-risk patients better and predict patient outcomes from their genomic profiles. The transformation of conventional cytogenetics into an automated discipline will improve diagnostic yield significantly, leading to accurate diagnosis and genetic counseling. This article reviews cytogenetic technologies used to identify human chromosome alterations and highlights the potential utility of present and future genome microarray technology in the diagnosis.

  • Due to the recent accident caused by the automated vehicle, discussions on the ethical aspects of AI have been actively underway. This paper confirms that AI is inevitably connected to ethical components through the concepts and techniques related to robots-AI, and argues that ethical aspects are built-in, not post facto. Furthermore, this devises a solution to the trolley dilemma that can serve as a clue to ethical problems associated with automated vehicles. Preferentially, that process contains writing Bayesian networks. Next, only important and influential data are left after the pre-processing stage, and crowd-sourcing & extrapolation is used to calculate the exact figures of the networks. Through this process, this argues that humans' subjects are certainly included in implementing algorithms and models and discusses the necessity and direction of engineering liberal arts, especially education of ethics that distinguished from major education to prevent distortions and biases abouts AI systems.

Spudsville: Designing a Minecraft Game for learning teaching English as a Second Language (스퍼드빌: 제2언어로서의 영어학습을 위한 마인크래프트 게임 설계)

  • The aim of this study is to design Spudsville, an immersive game environment in Minecraft that can effectively help learners acquire the English language. To create a successful learning experience using Minecraft, the researchers adopted the Agile Model and the Design Thinking approach. The researchers first conducted an analysis through an extensive literature review in order to assess the learners' needs. Afterwards, they designed and developed a Minecraft world based on the data collected during the analysis phase. The researchers learned that implementing constructivist and behaviorist approaches has benefits, even though applying a cognitivist-learning model to Spudsville could have provided the researchers with more insight on how learner processes information. Making these adjustments could improve Spudsville's effectiveness and could potentially help the ways in which gamified learning aids with language acquisition.

  • Estimation of the presence of people in real time is extremely useful for businesses in providing better services. Many companies and researchers have attempted various researches in order to count the number of floating population in a specific space. Recently, as part of smart cities and digital twins, commercialization of measuring floating populations using Wi-Fi signals has become active in the public and private sectors. In this paper we present a method of estimating the floating population based on MAC-address values collected from smartphones. By distinguishing Real MAC-address and Random MAC-address values, we compare the estimated number of smartphone devices and the actual number of people caught on CCTV screens to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method. And it appeared to have a similar correlation between the two datas. As a result, we present a method of estimating the floating population based on analyzing Wi-Fi Probe Requests.

A Case study of engineering comprehensive design subject incorporating convergence with art (예술과의 융합을 접목한 공학 종합설계 교과목 사례연구)

  • The core of the Fourth Industrial revolution, the topic of the 21st century, lies in the convergence of various technologies that are developing to the cutting edge. Therefore, convergence education is essential to solve problems from various perspectives. Above all, in order to solve the complex problem arising from the contact point between humans and technology in the future society, it was considered that insight through a humanities and artistic approach was necessary. Now, universities are trying to run a multidisciplinary comprehensive design to adapt to the new digital environment. In this study, an operation case of an engineering comprehensive design subject incorporating art operated by a researcher was described. The researcher presented an art convergence curriculum in a comprehensive design subject by applying 1. problem recognition and definition, 2. idea derivation and evaluation, 3. project development, 4. presentation, and demonstration process operation methods. Through this study, it is meaningful that it presented a method of operating art convergence in engineering comprehensive design subjects by allowing students to attempt an artistic aesthetic and emotional approach to project development.

User Value Analysis in Social Commerce Using Means-End Chain Theory (수단-목적사슬이론을 이용한 소셜커머스의 사용자 가치 분석)

  • With the spread of social networks, platform-based social commerce has grown rapidly with the use of multiple smart devices. Given the rapid growth of social commerce sites such as Coupang and Ticket Monster, it is very important to understand the user's purchase decision-making process in a social commerce environment. The purpose of this study is to develop a richer understanding of the goals of users using social commerce. Second, a methodological alternative for analyzing the user's goals is introduced. In this study, laddering interview and means-end chain analysis were used. As a result of interview conducted on 40 users who have more than 6 months of purchasing experience using social commerce, a hierarchical goal map showing the user's goal structure was derived. This map contains 22 ultimate goals of social commerce, including warm relationships with others, fun and enjoyment of shopping, accomplishment, satisfaction, financial saving, and convenience. In addition, there are various paths from activities to ultimate goals, so investigating the goals pursued by users can give us insight into understanding user.

A study on the impact of service quality of stage performance on willingness to continuously watch based on virtual reality technology

  • In this paper, we attempt to explore consumers' willingness to continuously watch stage performances on virtual reality technology platforms and the mediating role of the psychological contract in it through the integration of service quality theory, thus constructing a continuous viewing model and conducting an empirical analysis through SPSS and AMOS. Through the analysis, we came to the following conclusions: 1. Interaction quality, physical environment quality, and outcome quality have a positive impact on psychological contract; 2. The psychological contract has a positive impact on the willingness to continuously watch; 3. Interaction quality, physical environment quality, and outcome quality positively influence the willingness to continuously watch through psychological contract. Therefore, this model can be used by companies to grasp consumers' perceptions of their own service quality and to formulate specific strategies, and it provides new directions and insights for stage performance companies.

Global Health Nursing Competency and Multicultural Acceptance Among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 국제보건간호역량과 다문화 수용성)

  • This study was aimed at investigating relationship between global health nursing competency and multicultural acceptance of nursing students. The subjects were 145 nursing students from a university, and data were collected from June 8 to 19, 2020. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and regression. The subjects' global health nursing competency was 2.81±1.11 points (four-point scale) and multicultural acceptance was 3.84±0.68 points (six-point scale). Global health nursing competency differed according to gender and degree of preparation as a global nurse, and multicultural acceptance differed according to gender, multicultural education experience, and degree of preparation as a global nurse. Global health nursing competency had a positive correlation with multicultural acceptance (r=.18, p=.027), and it was showed that multicultural acceptance affected global health nursing competency (B=.29, p=.027). To be prepared as a global nurse, it is necessary to enhance the global citizen insight about multicultural experiences.

A Study on Cost Estimation for Smart Mobility Service (스마트 모빌리티 서비스를 위한 비용추정)

  • The automotive industry is facing a paradigm shift, changing from owning to sharing and from manufacturing to service. However, it is hard to conclude that the economic value of smart mobility service is always positive to users. Cost related to owing or share a vehicle is very hard to estimate from the perspective of potential users as well as the benefit of the service. Focusing on the cost side of the story, this study develops a cost estimating model based on three main factors: electrification, advanced driving assistant systems (ADAS) function, and participation of ride-sharing service. As a result of the model analysis, low cost was estimated as a result when receiving cost benefits such as electrification and ride-sharing participation. Various factors were analyzed through sensitivity analysis also. These results can provide useful insights into the cost prediction and strategies for potential users and manufacturers on smart mobility service market.

The Meaning of Seeing in John Ruskin's Aesthetics (존 러스킨의 미학에서 '본다는 것'의 의미)

  • This paper deals with the meaning of seeing in John Ruskin's aesthetic theory. For Ruskin, seeing is the essential key to define moral insight. To consider the relationship between the education of sight and the delight from experience of seeing in nature within Ruskin's moral thought, I analyse Ruskin's various lectures and texts, including Modern Painters, The Story of Halcyon, Of the Science of Light, Proserpina, and Praeterita. The first section of the body investigates the relations among pleasure, thought, sight which compose Ruskin's moral ecology, and then the second section traces the theoretical logic formed the concept of seeing as moral perception of human being. The third section demonstrates correspondence between aesthetic experience of pleasure and the way of seeing as an education for the mystery of Nature and God. After these theoretical processes, this paper finally insists that seeing is the factor of formation of an ecological sensibility corresponding with development of moral perception generated within the hierarchical structure of human-nature-god.
