Collision alleviation algorithm with Binomial Backoff retransmission method in CSMA/CA of Wireless VHF Communication (무선 VHF통신의 CSMA/CA에서 Binomial Backoff 재전송 방식을 이용한 충돌 완화 알고리즘)

  • 본 논문에선 Binomial확률을 이용한 재전송 슬롯 선택방식과 충돌해결과정의 수정을 통하여 CSMA/CA 프로토콜을 항공용 VHF통신에 적합하게 변형시켰다. 일반적으로 CSMA/CA 프로세스는 경쟁 서비스에서 충돌이 일어났을 때 재전송 지연시간만큼 기다리게 되고 경쟁윈도우의 크기가 두 배로 커진다. 이로 인해 부하가 증가하면 지연시간이 커지고 처리량이 감소하며 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에선 충돌 플래그를 이용하여 본래의 CW의 크기 변화 과정을 변형시켰으며, CSMA/CA 전체 상태 천이 과정에서 충돌 시의 과정을 좀더 적게 거치도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과 부하가 증가하여도 처리량 및 지연 시간에 좋은 특성을 나타내었으며 제안된 프로토콜은 항공용 VHF 통신에 적합함을 확인하였다.

An Improvement in Intra-Slice Low Delay Video Coding for Digital TV Broadcasting (디지틀 TV 방송을 위한 저지연 intra-slice 영상 부호화 방식의 개선 방법)

  • In receiving the digital TV signal, both decoding delay and the channel hopping delay are very critical factors in applications. The intra-slice coding in the MPEG-2 SIMPLE PROFLE of No B-picture is one of the primary methods for short delay time in video decoding. It has the advantage of short decoding delay, but has the drawback of long channel hopping delay time. In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the channel delay with negligible loss in SNR performance. It is shown that dividing pictures into several regions of slices and adding some restriction in motion vector search for inter-frame coding. hence the random acess points are effectively increased. and the channel hopping delay is reduced.

  • WAVE based on OFDM is made for vehicle to vehicle wireless communication. Its performance is decreased by continual timing delay in multipath fading channels after starting initial timing synchronization. In this paper, the tracking algorithm that synchronizes symbol timing is proposed to continually compensate additional timing delay. Computer simulation of the proposed algorithm is performed in the worst communication environment that applies to maximum timing delay. Computer simulation shows that the proposed algorithm can improve the system performance in various channel conditions.

  • 본 논문에서 우리는 이종사업자망이 연동된 통합망 환경에서 네트워크 성능 저하 구간을 탐색하기 위해 RTCP(Real-time Transport Control Protocol)의 타임스탬프 정보를 이용한 네트워크 구간별 지연 시간을 측정할 수 있는 트래픽 모니터링 방안을 제안한다. 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스(IPTV, VoIP)의 이용이 증가함에 따라 이종망간 연동 환경에서 실시간 서비스에 대한 QoS 관리 방안이 반드시 필요하다. 영상회의, VoIP(Voice over IP) 및 IPTV 서비스와 같은 멀티미디어 서비스는 네트워크 성능(지연, 지연변이 및 패킷 손실)에 매우 민감하기 때문에 연동망 환경에서 서비스 품질이 저하될 경우 어느 네트워크 구간에서 성능 저하가 발생하였는지 탐색하는 것은 매우 중요한 문제이다. 이에 우리는 RTCP 패킷을 이용한 구간별 지연시간 측정 방안을 제안하며 이 방안을 통해 네트워크 성능 저하가 발생한 구간을 탐색하고 정의할 수 있다.

  • Recently, as 3rd-generation mobile communication services using high-speed data rate system are widely employed, the demand for a variety of real-time data services such as VoIP service are also increased. Unlike typical data packets, VoIP packets have delay bound and low loss rate requirement. In this paper we propose a new scheduling algorithm that schedule two deferent kinds of packets efficiently, considering the characteristics of VoIP. Basically this algorithm considers both time delay and channel condition and gives priority depending on the time delay. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm works more efficiently than conventional algorithms.

  • 본 논문은 고차 계층 변조, 즉 계층 64QAM의 연판정 비트 검출을 위한 단순화된 연산 방법을 다룬다. 이는 기존 계층 변조의 연판정 비트, 즉 LLR(Log-Likelihood Ratio)값의 근사를 통해 불필요한 연산을 줄여 이에 필요한 지연시간을 줄일 수 있다. 또한 제안된 기법은 기존의 연판정 비트 검출 기법과 매우 유사한 비트 오류율(BER: Bit Error Rate) 성능을 유지하기 때문에 연판정 비트를 활용하는 방송 및 통신 시스템에 폭넓게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • This paper considers the problem of minimizing network-wide broadcast latency in multi-rate wireless mesh networks where a node can dynamically adjust its link layer transmission rates to its neighbors. We propose a broadcast algorithm that complements existing broadcast construct algorithm which chooses a multicast node randomly when each candidate node has same metric. We consider the currently accumulated broadcast latency from source node to the each candidate node so far to choose the next broadcast node. The proposed broadcast algorithm for minimizing latency in a multi-rate mesh networks which exploit wireless advantage and the multi-rate nature of the network. Simulation based on current 802.11 parameters shows that proposed MinLink_WCDS algorithm improves overall latency than the previous existing broadcast algorithm.

  • This paper provides a comprehensive study of the effect of time delay on adaptive transmission methods. By adaptive we mean that the transmission of data is made adaptive according to channel conditions. That is, the modulation level at the transmitter is carefully controlled for maximizing bandwidth efficiency, on the basis of the observation of instantaneous channel characteristics. By making use of the simulator developed for the present work, a large number of channel propagation environments including the models proposed in 3GPP were submitted to the simulator and the performance with respect to both time delay and SNR is observed. The results show that the performance is very sensitive to channel delay and in some cases the performance shows irreducible BER (IBER). A large amount of delay together with a high fading rate greatly affects the performance of adaptive transmission systems.
