Development of a Portable-Based Smart Structural Response Monitoring System and Evaluation of Field Applicability (포터블 기반 스마트 구조 응답 모니터링 시스템 개발 및 현장 적용성 평가)

  • Because the behavior of cable bridges is dominated by dynamic response and is relatively complex, short- and long-term field monitoring are often required to evaluate the bridge condition. If a permanent SHMS (Structural Health Monitoring System) is not installed, a portable monitoring system is needed for the checking of bridge condition. In this case, it can be difficult to operate the portable monitoring system due to limited conditions such as power and communication according to the location and type of the bridge. In this study, the portable-based smart structural response monitoring system is developed that can be effectively used for short- and long-term monitoring of cable bridges in Korea and Southeast Asia. The developed system is a multi-channel portable data acquisition and analyzer that can be operated for a long time in the field using its own power supply system, and is included with the automated analysis algorithm for the dynamic characteristics of cable bridges using real-time data. In order to evaluate the field applicability of the developed system, field demonstration was conducted on cable bridges in Korea and Vietnam. Through the demonstration, the reliability and efficiency of field operation of the developed system were confirmed, and additionally, the possibility of application to overseas markets was confirmed in cable bridge monitoring field.

  • IMO MSC 에서 제안된 E-Navigation 개념은 전자정보통신기술에 기반한 선박과 육상간 해양정보의 수집, 통합, 교환, 표현, 분석 풍을 통해서 항행 안전과 효율을 높이고, 해양환경을 보호하는 항행서비스를 개선하는 것이다. E-Navigation 전략을 개발하고 E-Navigation 환경을 구축하는 과정에서 해상교통환경의 주체가 되는 관제센터와 운항 선박의 정보교환 연동 시뮬레이션은 E-Navigation 환경 구축에서 중요한 의의가 있다. 육상-선박간 연동 시뮬레이션을 통해서 E-Navigation의 다양한 정보 교환의 기술적 가치와 새로운 교통환경의 안전성과 효율성을 평가할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 항만 관제 모의를 수행하는 VTS 시뮬레이터와 선박운항을 모의하는 선박운항 시뮬레이터를 통합 운영하여 고급의 교통 정보를 양방향으로 교환하고, 각 선박마다 차별화된 교통 정보를 제공받을 수 있는 방안을 마련하기 위한 E-Navigation 환경을 시뮬레이션하는 시스템을 연구하였다.

  • 자율운항선박(MASS)의 원격제어기술은 원격지에서 MASS를 원격제어자에 의해서 제어하기 위한 기술이다. 2023년도 현재 원격제어시스템의 통합구성이 완료되었고, 하반기부터는 해상실험을 통한 시스템 검증작업을 진행할 예정이다. 이러한 시스템 검증 이후에는 원격제어 시 발생할 수 있는 다양한 문제에 적극 대응할 수 있는 위기관리 기술의 개발이 필요하다. 현재 식별된 위기는 통신 두절에 따른 제어 불능, 간헐적 통신 불능에 따른 데이터 손실, 대용량 데이터 전송에 따른 제어명령과 제어응답 사이의 지연에 의한 선박조종의 어려움, 원격제어자의 인적오류에 의한 예상하지 못한 해양사고발생 가능성 등이다. 본 연구의 목적은 4가지 주요 요소(선박, 통신, 제어시스템, 원격 제어자)로 구성된 원격제어 시스템에서 발생 가능한 다양한 위기를 적극 억제할 수 있는 기법개발을 고찰하여 향후 원격제어기술 연구에 적용하기 위한 것이다. 특히, 통신 두절로 인한 암흑시간(blind time) 동안 원격제어 불능을 해결할 수 있는 위기대응 방법, 과도한 데이터 전송지연에 따른 위험수준 평가와 가시화 방법 등을 논의한다. 본 연구는 자율운항선박의 원격제어를 안전하게 지속가능한 상태에서 운영할 수 있는 기법의 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The Valuation of HSA Business Using Broadband over Power Line (전력선통신망을 이용한 HSA사업의 경제적 타당성 분석)

  • The concept of HSA (Home Service Aggregator) is derived from performing the energy IT business efficiently as well as successfully launcing a new service based on BPL (Broadband over Power Line). The HSA business using a BPL can extend the field of energy industry and an give a chance to create a new demand by consumer-oriented services. This study focuses on the exact evaluation of HSA business using BPL, and reasonable trusty evaluation should be the first step to launch the HSA business. In this study, the categories of cost are comprised of equipment (mainly RSM and MGW) cost, instalation cost, and maintenance cost. AMR (Automatic Meter Reading), internet integration billing service, integration charging service, internet service, sorority service, and electricity safety are listed for benefit. In this study, the ROI of HSA business is 0.9594, which is less than 1. However, that value does not consider the electricity safety benefit which is classified as a social benefit. Therefore, the value can be above 1 if it includes social and private benefits.

  • The anti-collision system is one of units for effectual operation and safety in crane operation. Most of the system have used ultrasonic to measure position and to prevent collision of crane. But, the anti-collision system using ultrasonic is fallen the reliability of performance by the change of temperature and humidity. Hence, this study proposes neural network applied to anti-collision system to improve accuracy and stability of the measured distance data, and we evaluate performance of the system. In results of experiments, the proposed method was seen that stability and accuracy of data are improved than that of the temperature compensation method.

Methodology for Determining Promising Freeway Segments for Truck Platooning (고속도로 화물차 군집주행 적용구간 선정 연구)

  • Truck platooning, which is a cluster of trucks in support of vehicle-to-vehicle communication and automated longitudinal vehicle control, is a promising method to both operational efficiency and prevent traffic crashes. Although a variety of studies have been conducted to identify the effects of vehicle platooning on traffic stream, we are not aware of any study attempting to identify promising road segments for vehicle platooning. This study aims to develop a methodology for determining the priority of freeway segments that would potentially lead to maximize the effectiveness of truck platooning. Evaluation measures derived in this study includes truck crash rates, the percentage of truck traffic, segment length, and the number of entry and exit points. Weighting values obtained from an analytical hierarchical process (AHP) method were applied to compute the proposed priority score to determine better freeway segment for truck platooning. Results suggested that a 46.9km freeway segment, from Sacheon IC to Sanin JC, was the most promising segment for maximizing the effectiveness of truck platooning. It is expected that the outcome of this study would be effectively used as a fundamental to establish operational strategies for truck platooning.

  • 최근 무선통신기반 열차제어시스템의 국산화 개발이 진행 중에 있으며, 이동폐색 및 열차간격의 효율적인 제어를 위해서는 열차에 서 직접 열차의 이동위치와 속도를 정확하게 실시간으로 파악할 수 있어야 한다. 하지만 기존 철도시스템에서는 열차의 위치 및 속도확인을 위해 궤도회로와 타코메터를 이용하고 있으며, 효율적인 열차제어를 위해 지상설비의 도움없이 안전하고 정확한 열차위치정보의 확보가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 위성항법수신기, 관성센서, 도플러레이더센서, 타코메터와 같이 열차에 탑재 가능한 위치 및 속도센서를 통합 적용하여 단독으로 열차 위치 및 속도파악이 가능한 차상기반 열차위치검지 장치를 구성하고, 한국형 틸팅열차 탑재시험을 통해 위치정확성을 평가하고 철도운영 환경에서의 적용성을 확인한다.

  • AIS needs high efficiency and safety in terms of operational management and, in the aspect of service range, it is time to minimize shadow regions through propagation evaluation of AIS transmitter. Thus this study analyzes shadow regions and the scope of propagation of waves from stations through the electric wave environment of AIS. First, this study examines the characteristics of AIS wave and draws up methods to analyze the scope of propagation of waves according to the characteristics. Second, this study finds out service regions and shadow regions of the 22 stations across the nation by analyzing the actual data based on climate and topography, Lastly, this study summarizes the results of wave conductivity evaluation and conductivity problems and proposes improvement measures.

  • The transportation network is a critical infrastructure in the event of natural and human caused disasters such as rainfall, snowfall, and terror and so on. Particularly, the transportation network in an urban area where a large number of population live is subject to be negatively affected from such events. Therefore, efficient traffic operation plans are required to assist rapid evacuation and effective detour of vehicles on the network as soon as possible. Recently, ubiquitous communication and sensor network technology is very useful to improve data collection and connection related emergency information. In this study, we develop a specific algorithm to provide evacuation route and detour information only for vehicles under emergency situations. Our algorithm is based on shortest path search technique and dynamic traffic assignment. We perform the case study to evaluate model performance applying hypothetical scenarios involved terror. Results show that the model successfully describe effective path for each vehicle under emergency situation.

Feasibility Study of Improved Train Control System Using On-board Controller for Intelligent Control of Trackside Facilities (선로변 시설물의 지능적 제어를 위한 차상중심 열차제어시스템 시뮬레이션 기반 성능 평가)

  • To improve the efficiency and safety of railway systems, the train control system has considerably evolved from the ground-equipment-based control system (e.g. track circuit, interlocking system, etc.) into the on-board-equipment-based control system. In addition, this train control system enables the rolling stock to intelligently control the trackside facilities by introducing information and communication technologies (ICT). Accordingly, since the ICT-based train control system simplifies the railway system (i.e. the heavy ground-equipment can be removed), an efficient and cost-effective railway system can be realized. In this paper, we perform a feasibility test of the ICT-based train control system using a simulation. To this end, we implement a test-bed consisting of prototype machines of on-board/ground equipment and introduce an integrated operation scenario for the train control. The simulation results satisfy all the requirements of train operation according to the scenario and show the effectiveness of the proposed train control system.
