  • This study is concerned about the comparison of accuracy between the plane table survey and the transit survey in the boundary survey. Up to the present, the plane table survey is used for the boundary survey in Korea the plane table survey usually causes both human and mechanical observational errors large enough. In this study, both the plane table survey and the transit survey using total station were used and the same points were measured from the same station. As the results, the positional error has 2~20 cm in plan table survey and 0~2 cm in the transit survey. Thus the transit survey is considerably accurate compared to the plane table survey in the boundary survey.

  • Satellite imagery is generally used for investigating the damage from natural disaster for wide area and remotely piloted vehicle or aerial photos are used for the local damage. But for more detailed information such as damages of public facilities, these methods are inadequate and so in this case field surveying has been carried out. We tried to estimate the damage of public facilities faster and more accurately using photogrammetric method. We developed a digital stereo camera system by fixing two digital cameras on a frame, and with this system the photos of actually damaged areas were collected. The damages were estimated from these stereo photos. Then the estimated data was compared with field surveying data in order to verify our system.

  • For the purpose of evaluating the safety of rock structures such as underground caverns, tunnels and slopes, rock displacement measurement is carried out to identify the behavior of rock masses. Tapes, levels, and total stations are usually applied to the displacement measurement. These tools, however, are weighed down by many disadvantages. In this study, a new displacement measurement system by precise vision metrology was proposed for the observational design and construction method of rock structures, and then applied to a tunnel under construction. Comparisons and investigations of the measurement of the tunnel have confirmed the effectiveness and applicability of the developed measurement system.

  • We propose a rotating stereo frame camera system to acquire indoor images with a low cost. For experiments, we selected a test site and acquired images using the proposed system and control points using a total station. Using these data, we generated various indoor 3D models using commercial photogrammetric software, PhotoScan. We then performed qualitative and quantitative analysis of the generated indoor 3D models to investigate the possibility of the indoor modeling using the proposed system. From the results, it is confirmed that the generated indoor models using the proposed system can be applicable to the services not inquiring high accuracy.

  • The accuracy of RTK GPS is limited by the distance dependent errors from orbit, ionosphere and troposphere, as the distance between the rover and the base station increases in the Real Time Kinematic surveying. To solve this problem, VRS system has installed. This study would estimated the accuracy of cadastral detail surveying, which is used on the VRS RTK instead of Total Station and RTK GPS demand for various equipments and time. As a result of study, the positioning accuracy of the VRS RTK and RTK GPS surveying make no greate difference, as RMSE of VRS RTK surveying is 0.144m and that of RTK GPS surveying is 0.146m and the new method would be more efficient.

  • A recently lot of facilities have been constructed from rapidly development of science and economic growth. Among them, bridges are tending to be large because of geometrical problems of the road. And then the method of satellite surveying is being practical use variously out of present surveying methods. Therefore in this study it takes a measurement of bridge displacement using the RTK GPS Mode instead of the using mechanical measurement system. The observation value was verified by using Total Station to inspect observation value of RTK GPS. And then, by using the Delphi of object intending language, developed bridge warning system and applied it. The result of this study was found verification error of 0.2~8.3mm, therefore the measurement of bridge displacement of grand bridge can be applied by using An GPS.

  • The case of a forest area has tome limitations of adopting a ground surveying like as TS (Total Station) and RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic-GPS) due to the specificity of the forest area. Therefore, the new method, is different from exist the cadastral re-surveying method in a metro area and a cropland, is applicably considered in the forest area. In this paper, we suggest the applicability of the digital cadastral map of forest which is used at KLIS. According to the result of study, the most important area error value for adopted in the cadastral re-surveying is almost contained the error tolerance. Therefore, KLIS data, if it is related with the actual reference data for adjusting the location boundary, is suitable to be adopted in the cadastral re-surveying.

  • Nowadays, a precision multiple-beam epoch sounder is a depth-sounding apparatus, which is widely used especially for the mapping of bottom of the sea in the coastal area and the bed of river. However, there has been no attempt to verify the accuracy of the depth-sounding apparatus with the data obtained through the actual measurement. As a consequence, the efficient and systematic evaluation of the survey results cannot be performed. In this paper, the accuracy of the multiple beam echo sounder is analyzed by comparing the in-situ measurements and reference data. The test results show that the highest level of accuracy, indicated by IHO, can be achieved even though the magnitude of error increases with the depth of water.

  • Recently, industrialization of a country is accelerated and request of society infrastructure is raised so national land development is activity view. Accordingly, the search for a wide-ranging buried heritage do acted in large construction region. Because the buried heritage get buried in land that it is necessary to the precision search and research for a record and a preservation. Until now, Surveying techniques of a historic site have made status map, profile and cross section map through leveling survey, total-station survey and sketch of specialist. So, to solve problems existing relic survey or drawing making method have using digital camera these researches rapidly and economically obtain stereo image of object and present a technique that constructs 3D image model for digital photogrammetry method. Also, these researches construct 3D image model for record and preservation of a historic site through site test and in 3D and graphical express a historic site and support works that produce other maps if we need it. offer base data of GIS (Geographic Information System) to collect and analyze overall, information of a historic site.
